Chapter 1916: A Branch of the Tree

Odin paused for a moment and then continue

“As for what these monsters are, some of them are Ice Giant and Fire Giants. But they are not enough to make you feel dizzy. After all, their aura and their power could not break through the bridge aura”

“It is the Chthonian creatures that you have to worry about” Odin is smiling

“Sometimes, they came here. Baited by the light. Some of them even try to deal with the fire giants. But even the fire giants don’t like them. Surt once slashed a Chthonian tentacle Eight rank with his flaming method and burn it to nothingness”

Then Odin sighed

“The Eight realms is not as close as you would think and some of the eight realms is even outside of the Source Wall”

“When I am there, my force would be able to restrain them and restrict them from coming closer. But without me, that force is weakened. This Chthonian creatures are all very cunning and they play with the souls and minds. Mortals rarely could even look them in the eye and not go crazy”

“Do you know why I left my slumber?” Odin ask and Azief sighed. He did not know the answer but he could guess

And he thinks his guess is quite close to the truth.

Is it guilt? Is this a guilt trip?

To show him how much he sacrificed?

Even though Odin did not say if he could guess many things that could happen when Odin is not there to restrain all of these evil forces?

The Eight realms is probably in chaos right now.

And there must be battle.

And in such battle, people would surely dies. In the eight realms not all of them are gods. The Gods are all on Asgard just like Olympians gathered on Mount Olympus

The others below the mountain, below the Bifrost are still mortals. And if even gods has their own dusk, and die, it is even more so for mortals

“Is it me?”

Odin nodded then he noticed Azief expression and he shook his head

“It is not what you think”

” I am not trying to make you feel guilty if that what you think I am doing. I am telling you this because of how much important this thing for me that I would ignore all the realms under my rule. I did not want to force your teacher to help me. But I am also forced by circumstances. What I want you to understand from my memories…..it is not that I want you to see me treating your teacher well. I want you….to understand my desperation”

For a moment there is silence between them. Azief look at Odin, look at every wrinkle and analyse every expression he could

He felt Odin is sincere. But is he really?

But when he wanted to doubt Odin sincerity, he is suddenly reminded of what the Divine Monkey tell him

too much cautiousness is as bad as too little. Sincerity then become rotten

Did the Divine Monkey foresee this? Did he say all that as reminder? Or is he thinking about this too much

Odin then added

“You might be Wargod last hope. But you are also my last hope”

Odin said as he look toward Azief and in that moment, the scenery stooped.

When Odin stopped, the space pinching method also stopped and Azief could see where they are right now.

Azief could not even feel the space changing. It is only at this moment, he felt it

They are in a land of ice and if Azief is not mistaken he could see a titanic ice mountain that seems to reach the sky in the distance.

It must be far away but even though it is far, Azief could see it because of how large and tall it is even from a distance

If he came to in front of that wall, even a frost giant would be dwarfed by its size.

“And would you look at that. Almost like fate and destiny is guiding me. We reached the destination”

Odin take a step and this time Azief could feel the area of space around him spiral and he himself is caught in this spiralling space and before he could even make sense of it or feel any pain he suddenly is on top of an ice mountain.

The cold wind brushes through his body and a coldness is unlike any coldness he ever felt before.

It digs deeps into his soul and shakes his entire being

And he shivered. He…..a being that reached Essence Creation, a body made of energy, felt cold

This alone is amazing and mysterious.

Azief then look where he is right now and as his feet moved an inch an ice block cracks and falls to the ground and he himself nearly fall from the edge

Odin took him by his collar and the space changes again and this time, he is standing over an ice wall.

He is now at the edge of a tall and wide ice wall

In front of him he could only see an expanse of white as far as the eye could see. There is no lakes, there is no trees, there is no life, only a flat land of snow whites.

Odin then sang, his song echoes throughout the white land like it echoes all over heaven and earth

The voice is heavenly, the song sings to bring out a sadness that pieces deep through one soul

Yggdrasil shakes, and shiver on high

The ancient limbs, and the giant is loose;

To the head of Mim does Othin give heed,

But the kinsman of Surt shall slay him soon.

How fare the gods?

how fare the elves?

All Jotunheim groans, the gods are at council;

Loud roar the dwarfs by the doors of stone,

The masters of the rocks: would you know yet more?

Azief remember these words. Odin sang it in Asgardians but when the voice reaches his ears, his heart could understand Odin words.

The sadness, he understand why, he feels sad. Odin sing a song that marks the end of the Age of Gold for the Gods,

It sings the song of the coming of three women out of Jotunheim. The onset of…Ragnarök!

Othin is Odin. Mim is Mimir

And Surt shall slay him and fulfilled his prophecy. Destroy Asgard which would also then destroy him

A fire that would burn all the Eight realms!

This is song from the Poetic Edda.

Odin finished his song; the song lingers between heaven and earth. For a moment there is only silence between them

Azief heard the song and the song itself has some kind of magic properties. When he hears it, it was like he was transported to those vision of destruction and of Odin holding the head of Mimir.

But what surprise Azief was the Poetic Edda.

Azief knows that Odin must have been on Earth before. And he must have made some inquiries about the stories he left behind when he is on Earth.

It did not took long for Azief to understand what this piece of land means

“This…..is Jotunheim?”

“A part of it”

“I took it from them in the last war and put it on one of the branches of Yggdrasil” Then chuckling Odin added saying

“I even took one of the desert from the Eternal Horizon and a few nymphs from Olympus. Every land, every worlds, every stars and sun and moon could thrive under the tree”

Odin like him look at the expanse of white and sighed.

“Here….is one of the closest area to the top of the tree. Here…..the branches, the leaves above our heads would hide the heavenly secrets”

Azief look up but he did not see any branches or leaves.

All he could see is the heavens, a clear blue sky and thick large white clouds.

His eyes look further and he could see stars and planets.

“Look further” Odin said as he put his hand on Azief shoulder and Azief feel a burst of energy rushing into him and enhancing every abilities that he have.

Now, he even felt a trace of energy and realm of the Sovereign.

In that moment, he felt he was invincible and boundless power that touches upon the law of creation could be felt inside him

His Divine Sense range suddenly exploded to a million light years away, the range and width could cover galaxies and even the cluster of mega galaxies and then he saw it

“It is amazing. Shocking” he thought to himself.

“I never thought that this tree is this…big. Boundless”

All of these stars and planets, is held up by a branch. But this branch is not transparent nor solid.

But it is there.

Masquerading among the trails of stars.

No, it is not quite correct to say that it is masquerading. It is more like only those who have great abilities could see this truth.

In different parts of the galaxies, there is different rules and different truth. But in this part of the universe, he is in, countless of galaxies is just contained on one of the branches of a Creation tree.

And Azief could not help but be shocked and in awe.

This is just one of the branch of Yggdrasil. And it could contain planets and even galaxies and supercluster of mega galaxies.

Then what he sees before…..is not the true form of the tree.
