In the subsequent weeks, Jin and the rest of the Mages, Military and Ress Royal Construction, a 'government' owned body had begun the reconstruction of New Ress Cities as well as the other towns that had been affected by the Week Long War with the Celestials.
Most of the citizens were rather resilient after working tremendously hard for the past year and with the Ministry Cabinet putting up standard work protocols and emergency plans for 'business continuity'' purposes, it was rather easy to just follow the steps and advice of the leaders to promptly clear the situation at hand.
In that short span of time, New Ress City was up once again, presenting itself to be the crown jewel for the entire kingdom to envy. This time around without the need of an isolation barrier, New Ress City utilised every space possible, horizontally and vertically to ensure that everyone had enough housing and the facilities were sufficiently widespread to get things done.
On the military side of things, the zombies working to harass the southern kingdoms was a sufficient endeavour while Jin had also managed to complete his envisioning of the Ress Great Wall...or at the very least, its foundations. Most of the Southern Kingdoms were a little preoccupied with the zombie enmassing threat that Mong Empire had presented and thus decided to leave Ress alone.
But they had no idea that Ress was able to recuperate in less than a quarter of a month. In fact, after the war against Celestials, the spies who had been recruited to watch at the side reported the devastating damage Ress had incurred and they immediately assumed it would take years for them to get back to where they were.
However, when the Southern Kingdoms requested a subsequent report, they realised that such spies were not responding ever again. (Partially due to a certain group of foxes) With the impending winter and the rise of the Mong Zombies, the Southern Kingdoms decided to postpone their invasion against the Ress. Some were even hopeful that the Ress might deteriorate even more with the incoming winter.

In fact, they firmly believed that with the Northern Regions filled with demons, the zombies from Mong and the cruel blizzards of their winter environment, Ress was doomed to fail. Come spring, Ress would be so defenceless that they would topple from within and their resistance would be minute.
Not to mention, the Northern Regions were known to have the worst winters and deaths occurring among the kingdoms were extremely common due to lack of food or communication. There was no need to worry much about them. Not to mention, Ress had always bought an abundance of food stock from the Southern Kingdoms. Now that they were in shatters, it was death for their citizens sooner or later.
All the Southern Kingdoms needed to do was to turtle in and wait for the winter to pass.Unfortunately, Ress was not having any such problems at all. On the contrary when the spies of Pal and Brooj saw the development of Ress, they were immensely shocked by their fast recovery. As they had managed to slip in unnoticed right after the war, they were able to see the development first hand. Heaters were abundant in all homes, food stock was ever ready for sale and there were so many choices and selections that some were even having major winter sales or even giving it out for free.
There were even demons and Pandarians walking around New Ress City with no threat at all. The only exception is that those sentient demons needed to wear their uniform out in public to show that they were part of the Daemon Mage Corps. In fact, their uniforms were their identifier and could not be forged.
Zombies were literally not seen near Ress at all and the guards were rather relaxed (yet not lax in terms of discipline) at the borders as compared to the constant vigilance that the Southern Kingdoms had to employ.
There were even ways to combat the cold out at the frontlines which made guarding felt like a night out to gaze at the stars. The spies were flabbergasted at the shocking pace of how Ress was recovering they felt that it was a waste to return home. They could just defect and move into Ress and not suffer the non existent technologies that their kingdoms offered.
However, only a handful maintained their stance and oath for their kingdoms and when it was time to slip out to pass the information, they had no idea that there would be guards waiting for them right outside of their apartments. Even their own neighbours had pulled out their rifles to aim at them and there was no place to run.
Even the emergency teleport scrolls or communication scrolls were not working as intended. All of them were 'activated' but every single one of it was intercepted, making escape almost impossible. The agents were then sent for interrogations but instead of the brutal ones that one usually would experience, the officers actually gave these agents a chance to stab their kingdoms from the back.
It was to the point, that the offer was too sweet to be true that most agents caved in and swore a new Oath for Ress. Only a small number that can be counted with one's fingers had defied all the way. Those were the few who had been subjected to Star Foxes' way of getting information and forcefully transformed into a turncoat of the kingdom they were serving.
All in all, it was a smooth sailing experience for Ress to give the kingdoms around the assumption that everything was going well. They had no idea that when spring came, those kingdoms were the ones that were going to submit under the heavy hand of Ress Royal Military.
They had prepared sufficiently against the Celestials because of their overwhelming quantity of Celestials and their magical beasts. But when fighting against humans? They have more than sufficient capability to invade from the north and south of Southern Kingdoms, uniting them into Ress and eventually allowing Jin to ascend to emperorhood within Atopia.
