Stop Hypnotizing Me, Villainous Princess!
Chapter 50: I’ll Make You Remember Me, YvesteChapter 50: I’ll Make You Remember Me, Yveste
But then again…
Why should I go to such lengths for this woman?
Having unraveled the rules governing the timeline, Lynn couldn’t help but question his own motives.
Thinking about it, he didn’t even like her. Every interaction they’d had was unpleasant, marked by manipulation and hostility. Everything—everything—was the result of that vile villainous princess forcing his hand in the past.
Even though the Witch of the End seemed like an entirely different person now, the atrocities she had committed wouldn’t simply vanish.
The memory of their earlier exchange resurfaced in his mind.
“I’m Lynn… Lynn Bartleon.”
“Never heard of you.”
Her cold indifference at that moment stirred a seething anger within him.He had half a mind to tear open his shirt and show her the Thorn Mark she had branded onto his chest, a constant reminder of the havoc she’d wreaked on his life.
Though logic told him the Witch couldn’t possibly recall her past, his emotions surged, rejecting reason.
How disgusting.
You dragged me away, reshaped my entire life, and now you act like none of it matters? Like you don’t even know me?
He wanted to point at her and demand answers.
But he held himself back, forcing calm.
Stay focused. Don’t forget your purpose.
In the end, he had come here to escape her clutches, not to challenge her. His prayer was meant to make him her follower, to reignite his Divine Factor and regain Extraordinary abilities.
He couldn’t afford to lose sight of that goal.
Taking a deep breath, Lynn looked back at the Witch.
“Your Highness,” he began, “I called upon you today with a humble request.”
“What is it?”
The Witch idly fiddled with the chain around her neck, her disinterest plain.
“You may have noticed,” Lynn said, bowing slightly, “that I once worshiped the Master of a Billion Stars. Unfortunately, I was betrayed and cast aside, becoming a forsaken one.
“So I beseech you… take me in as your follower and reignite my Divine Factor.”
Lynn thought his appeal was reasonable. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, after all. The Master of a Billion Stars had been instrumental in sealing the Witch, so she ought to have no qualms about opposing him.
Surely, she wouldn’t refuse… right?
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the Witch shook her head.
“I refuse,” she said simply.
Lynn froze.
“Why?”
Instead of answering, the Witch raised a finger, pointing toward the ceiling of the pantheon.
Following her gesture, Lynn looked up.
The spiraling architecture above began to dissolve like a mirage, revealing a breathtaking sight.
A vast, boundless starry sky unfurled before him, but it wasn’t the stars that captured his attention.
Suspended in the heavens was something so colossal, so incomprehensibly vast, that it made him feel like a frog peering out of a well, suddenly aware of his insignificance.
It was a massive, fortress-like magical weapon, shaped like a gargantuan sword. Its rough, weathered surface was inscribed with countless Magical Arrays.
The weapon was so immense that its shadow seemed to encompass the entire planet, casting it into the darkness of impending annihilation.
The Sword of Damocles.
The thought struck Lynn instinctively.
In the original story, the Witch of the End was too powerful for the gods to kill. Thus, the protagonist devised an alternative—a doomsday weapon forged over millennia by refining an entire supermassive planet.
The collision of two celestial bodies was already apocalyptic in scale, but augmented by Magical Arrays, the weapon’s destructive force was elevated to an entirely new level.
Lynn wouldn’t have been surprised if the resulting explosion wiped out an entire star system.
He now understood why the planet was devoid of life.
Everyone had fled to the divine nations established by their gods, seeking refuge from the final battle between the protagonist and the Witch.
In the end, justice had triumphed.
And now, the Sword of Damocles hovered above, ready to deliver the ultimate judgment. Once unleashed, the Witch would meet her end within this pantheon.
When she died, her Divine Essence would dissipate, and any Divine Factors granted to her followers would extinguish with it.
Lynn’s hope crumbled.
It’s pointless, he thought bitterly.
But the Witch wasn’t finished speaking.
“And besides…” she said, her lips curling into a faint, mocking smile.
“I’ve already told you—I don’t know who you are.
“So tell me, who do you think you are to demand such a thing from me?”
Her voice was as cold as ever, but the trace of malice in her smile reminded Lynn of the villainous princess she used to be.
For a moment, Lynn was silent.
“Go back,” she said dismissively, waving her hand.
A rift of black light appeared behind him, emanating a familiar pull. Lynn could feel its force, dragging him back to his own time.
This time, it would be farewell—for good.
Without a word, Lynn lowered his head and allowed the force to take him.
As the Witch averted her gaze, the Chains of Order binding her suddenly glowed with brilliant golden light.
With the gods’ power surging through them, the chains inflicted fresh waves of agony upon the Witch. Though grievously wounded, she still had enough strength to shield this space from divine interference, keeping it independent from reality.
But the chains were relentless. They were designed to torment and break her spirit, a constant, inescapable punishment.
Closing her eyes, the Witch endured in silence.
“Ah, I see. You just didn’t want me to witness your suffering,” a voice taunted suddenly.
The Witch’s eyes snapped open, her gaze darting toward the source.
There, clinging to the edges of the spatial rift, was Lynn.
Half of his body had already been drawn into the void, but he refused to let go, his hands gripping the edge with desperate strength.
The Witch’s expression turned icy as she raised her hand again, amplifying the rift’s pull.
The force intensified, bending Lynn’s body painfully, yet he held on, refusing to surrender.
Their eyes locked once more.
“My name is Lynn Bartleon,” he snarled through gritted teeth.
“If that’s your reason for rejecting me…”
“I’ll make you remember me, Yveste.”
His words echoed sharply in the vast, empty hall.
Moments later, the rift’s pull overpowered him, and Lynn was swallowed into the void, disappearing completely.
