A JOURNEY THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

Chapter 1291: Oh Wow, She’s Strong

Archer chuckled at the sound of Edith’s sweet voice, one he had dearly missed. Leaning down, he pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. She stiffened before melting into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and returning the loving gesture.

The two parted, and he gazed into her eyes, his voice laced with apology. ’’I’m sorry I haven’t spent much time with you, beautiful. But, just like I told the others, I want to change that.’’

When the older woman heard that, she shook her head with a warm smile. ’’Don’t worry about it, master. I love helping the others out, but thank you for thinking about me,’’ she said before pecking him on the cheek.

Archer nodded, ’’Would you like to accompany me to Verdantia to rob the Alliance’s banks?’’ he asked with a cheeky expression.

Edith looked shocked, but a giggle echoed out of her before she agreed. ’’Yes. I’ve been training with the harem. It would be a good time to show you what I’ve learned so far.’’

Following that, he cast a disguise spell on them so the enemy wouldn’t find them straight away and opened a Gate to Verdantia but were interrupted by Inara appearing out of nowhere.

Archer grabbed their hand, stepped through, and reappeared behind enemy lines, which surprised Edith. ’’Are we robbing the banks again, Arch?’’ the lioness questioned with a hand on her hilt.

’’Yes,’’ he replied before the three stepped into the creepy place.

The maid glanced around while gulping. ’’Are you sure we’ll be fine?’’

Archer reassured them as he disguised Inara and put Snap Gates on both women. ’’Yes, we’ll be fine. When we’re in trouble, I’ll send you back to the Domain,’’ he explained.

Afterward, Edith calmed down as Inara told her it worked, which put the maid at ease. The three of them started walking toward the next city, but he got fed up and brought out a carriage with mounts.

The two women looked shocked, but everyone climbed on board as they started moving along the road. While traveling, the lioness looked out to the rolling hills and flower-covered grassland.

’’This place is strangely beautiful. It’s a shame it isn’t owned by you yet, handsome,’’ she muttered with a smile.

’’Maybe in ten years we can build a palace here, but for now, we need to take the other four continents to gather the force to fight against the Alliance and Terravians,’’ he replied while taking out some Dragon Ale.

Archer started drinking before offering some to the women and Inara accepted with a big smile as Edith commented. ’’Do you think it’s the right time to drink, master? We’re in the enemy lands?’’

’’Don’t worry, maid,’’ the lioness exclaimed. ’’We’re with our husband, who won’t let anything happen to us.’’

As they traveled down the trade road, they passed the city Archer had robbed just the day before. Now, it was on high alert, locked down by Alliance soldiers and church officials scrambling to restore order.

The sight of their frantic efforts drew amused laughter from the trio as they continued on their way. After a few hours in the carriage, the three made it to the next city on the list and noticed it was locked down like the previous one.

’’How are we going to get in handsome?’’ Edith said while standing on a hill a mile away from the city walls.

Archer didn’t reply as he grabbed both women by the waist and used Mana Manipulation to make them all invisible. He smiled before explaining. ’’Don’t let go of me or the soldiers will see you.’’

Following that, he summoned his wings and took off toward Tsaryovsk City, which was home to several banks, including one for the Church of Light. This excited Archer as he loved messing with them.

While flying, he started speaking with an amused smile. ’’We’ll hit one bank while I send my monster to attack another part of the city to distract the soldiers. This will allow us to hit two of the seven banks that called Tsaryovsk home.’’

’’What are you doing with all this wealth?’’ Inara questioned with a curious expression.

Archer didn’t respond straight away as they passed over the wall and landed in a dark alleyway that concealed them from the nearby street. When touching the ground, he let them go before summoning hundreds of Broodmaw.

’’Go to the other side of the city and attack the enemy soldiers to cause a distraction,’’ he ordered.

When the mantis-like monsters heard this, they rushed off as Edith quickly grabbed his arm while glancing around. Archer smiled when seeing her panic and reassured her. ’’Don’t worry, they are my monsters and won’t harm you.’’

Following that, the three of them made their way toward the Church of Lights bank and when the trio arrived, they noticed dozens of knights guarding the area. Inara’s smile grew wide as she asked. ’’Can I deal with them, Arch?’’

’’Yes,’’ he instantly answered. ’’Just be careful.’’

The lioness’s ears twitched at the sound. No hesitation, no mercy. In a blur, she lunged forward, her blade flashing like a streak of silver lightning. With a single, fluid stroke, she severed the first guard’s head, his lifeless body crumpling.

Before the second could react, she unleashed a Mana Blast, the sheer force detonating his skull in a crimson eruption. The echoes of destruction barely faded as their bodies collapsed to the earth, lifeless.

’Oh wow, she’s strong,’ he thought with an excited smile.

With fire in her beautiful red eyes, she crossed into the bank’s grounds just as a tide of soldiers surged toward her, their weapons drawn, their fate already sealed. The first knight lunged, but his blade never met its mark.

Archer watched as Inara sidestepped, her dagger slipping into his throat before he even realized he was dead. She spun, using his body as a shield as crossbow bolts whizzed past, then hurled him aside like discarded trash.

A second knight charged, bellowing prayers to the Light God. Inara answered with a flick of her wrist. Her sword found his gut, twisting as she yanked it free, his organs spilling onto the cold earth.

He whistled, impressed. ’’You’re not even breaking a sweat.’’ Experience exclusive tales on NovelFire.Côm

She flicked blood from her blade, stepping over the bodies like a predator. ’’They were never worth the effort.’’

The last knight trembled, his sword slipping from his grasp. ’’M-Monster!’’ he choked out.

Inara gave the man a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. ’’No,’’ she whispered, driving her dagger into his heart. ’’I’m worse.’’

Archer chuckled at the scene but sensed a knight going for the alarm, causing him to summon a Shadow Creature to kill the man. Moments later, it reappeared with a dead body and threw it to the side.

He sent out more of them to kill off the remaining soldiers before speaking to Inara. ’’Let’s get inside and steal the Pope’s wealth.’’

Following that, they entered the bank and started making their way to the vaults just as Edith finally spoke up while looking around. ’’How do you know where we’re going?’’

Archer approached the staircase that led to the vaults before and answered the white-haired beauty. ’’I scanned the building with my mana and the Tressyms were here a few weeks ago.’’

Moments later, they encountered a Church of Light Demi-God who appeared in front of them. Inara looked concerned, while Edith stepped back just as Archer vanished and appeared behind the enemy with a cocky smile.

’’Do you know I’m going to burn every church to the ground?’’ he spoke, which made the man shiver. ’’You’re worshipping the dark gods, disgusting humans.’’

Archer plunged his fist through the Demi God’s chest and pulled out his heart while continuing. ’’It’s a shame you won’t be around to see it.’’

His tail flew out and decapitated the man before turning to the woman. ’’You two stay here and watch out for reinforcements,’’ he spoke.

Inara was going to reply, but an alarm erupted across the city, causing Archer to laugh. ’’The Broodmaws have launched their attack and killed dozens of Alliance troops.’’

Following that, he ripped off the metal doors and started looting everything from the ten vaults. Once that was done, Archer sent the two women back to the Domain when sensing dozens of Demi-Gods closing in on the bank.

’Stay in there until I leave the city,’ he informed Edith through the tattoo. ’Too many powerful enemies are coming.’

Once they understood, Archer turned to the nearby wall and carved a message that would anger the Pope and emperor. Afterward, he transformed into his dragon form but shrank down to a tiny size.

He flew out of the bank before heading for the next one as the Demi-Gods swarmed the building. Archer spent the next few hours robbing everything valuable from the Tsaryovsk nobles after disguising himself as the Pope.
