Shi Lang was focused on the sole challenge before him. The challenge of casting two hundred and six bones that were needed to support the human body. He had revised the entire human skeleton in his brain, but he needed to make sure that apart from the general outline of the skeleton, the one he makes matches that of Amelia as much as possible.
The young man took a deep breath as he continued to refine the bones one after the other inside the cauldron. The samsara cauldron had a restraining force that kept the bones in place and didn’t allow them to float away on their own, because without the ligaments and the tendons to hold the bones in place this whole set up looked very flimsy.
Hao Mei was watching all of it from the edge of the crater, she had been resisting the urge to record all this and keep it in a data. This procedure was not something that could be achieved just because someone had a higher skill. She was aware that Terrans were different from humans. Even if the humans had the technological advantage similar to that of the Terrans, they would not have the capacity to use their minds to extract the best out of the knowledge.
She sighed and decided not to record the procedure it would become a secret that the world shouldn’t know about. As she watched Shi Lang meticulously attach a string of his spiritual energy onto the bones being formed inside the cauldron. The Terran was moving from big to small bones, and in his mind, he was counting them as well.
The only thankful fact in this process was that apart from the heart, everything inside the human body was symmetrical. Time passed slowly, but Shi Lang didn’t stop working, his hands were maintaining seals and spiritual flow to ensure that the process doesn’t fail.
After a couple of days, he sighed and then he began to call out another composition of the four elemental essences, he cast multiple seals and formed tendons and ligaments. The process took a great deal of energy from him, and an entire week passed. He used the spiritual energy to attach the tendons to the bones and the skeleton could now hold itself together.
Shi lang took a deep breath and then he said, “Now is the time to bring up the most important parts.”
He was going to refine the organs, and so he began one more time. Hao Mei was worried, she could see that Shi Lang’s back was covered with cold sweat but the Terran didn’t stop. He was popping pills to sustain himself. In the past few years he had eaten the amount of pills that surpassed the consumption of his entire life by a huge margin.
He began by forming veins and arteries and then spread them around the skeleton with an extensive network of the blood vessels. He then moved on to condense the main organs and connected them with the blood vessels. This whole thing took him over a month of time. Hao Mei was standing in the background silently watching her master engrossed in refining the body, and she could seven see how it looked like her Mistress.
Shi Lang didn’t know that his actions were causing a great deal of shock to the young lady. She didn’t expect that such a thing would be possible to achieve by the path of alchemy. Thinking about this, she thought, that if she manages to extract the essence of the four elements from the natural treasures, then even without going to the Five Elemental temple, she would be able to help people regain their arms and legs.
She paid attention to the process, and Shi Lang said, “Xiao Mei, you can use the energy from the elemental herbs to come up with the limb regeneration, however, it would not work if you feed them a pill. The game is based on essence of the elements, okay?”
Hao Mei replied, “Yes, Master, I understand.”
Shi Lang went back to focus on the task at hands. The reason it was taking him this long was because he was actually molding an entire organ from the information inside his mind. He was creating cells, and neurons. This was against the will of heavens, and this was why he had cast an isolation barrier that would prevent the heaven from throwing down the tribulation at him while he was still in the thick of it.
One month passed, and Shi Lang had finished his task of modeling the organs, and placed them in their positions. The final organ that he made was the pair of eyes. Because he wished to get them perfectly closer to how Amelia’s eyes were. After all that was done, he began to create muscles and skin, and after two more days, Amelia’s body was laying before him. The young man took a deep breath and calmed his mind, as he cast the final seals, the elements came together and they began to compose blood, and all the other components in it.
Shi Lang didn’t kick start the heart. Now, he had to take the refined body through the void and head to the northern springs, while it went through a tribulation. The young man said, “Xiao Mei, leave, the tribulation would be a bit too much for you. Go and digest the information that you have gained.”
Hao Mei knew that the situation was going to get worse and she was not yet strong enough to handle it. She bowed to Shi Lang and said, “Master, come back together.”
Shi Lang was surprised and then he smiled and said, “Yes, my child.”
He loved Hao Mei a lot, she was the gentlest and the most caring person he has known in his disciples. She would take it all silently and persist to keep doing her best. Shi Lang waved his hand and the isolation barrier vanished. The heavens instantly sensed the existence that was unnatural and the sky began to swarm with black clouds.
These clouds were not just black, but they were ink black, however, it was not as dangerous as Shi Lang’s tribulation. The Terran sighed and said, “Well, come as you may, but be fair, or you will suffer.”
The entire world echoed with the thunder of heavens, Shi Lang stood tall holding the vessel of his beloved, waiting for the test to begin, the test of life and death and the test of his devotion to his love. The scavenger was about to set out again to reclaim what was his, and even the heavens would have to try hard to stop his steps.
