Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1750: Can I Help You With Something?

The Pyro World.

The competition ended two days ago, but the excitement hasn’t died down. Since the Pyro Faction has existed till now, this will probably be the most talked about competition in its history. There’s a high chance it will be discussed in years to come, and all of this was due to one person, Grey Dawson, the Sixth stage Sovereign who defied normal logic, defying their expectations time and time again. Even when they believed they were overestimating, it turned out that they were still underestimating him. The realization of that shocked them, but it also excited them about what was to come.

With such a genius appearing among the ranks of humans, although the youths only felt envy, awe, and unwillingness to accept that there’s someone multiple times better than them, the Elders, on the other hand, felt a different type of feeling… hope.

Yes, Grey’s appearance has given them hope. Hoping that one day, as long as Grey doesn’t die, he will be able to break the shackles of the Aurora Continent and allow these old experts, who were all very close to the end of their lifespan, to also soar with him.

In the current Aurora Continent, in the eyes of these Pyro Faction Elders, Grey possessed the highest potential to become a true God Plane Elementalists. They’ve all been stuck in the Half God Plane for countless years, and none has been able to break through to the next Plane. The shackles of their world were just too powerful, restraining them from taking the much needed step towards a higher cultivation Plane.

Grey had no idea that he represented hope for these men. He was currently in his room in the Pyro Faction, examining himself with a frown. He didn’t expect that he would use so much essence in this battle. Luckily, his reserve was quite large compared to the young lady; he at least didn’t lose out. Thinking about the battle, he couldn’t help but feel like he still lacked strength.

’I need to grow stronger.’

Facing an enemy like the young lady, he didn’t think there was a chance he could defeat the other party. The real reason he could actually wait it out with the young lady was that it not being a life-and-death battle. Even with the young lady’s limited experience in such aspects, it wouldn’t change the fact that she had a higher chance of killing him. Against such an opponent, Grey knew that fighting back was futile, so his only option would be to run away.

’Even after so long I still can’t escape this stupid fate.’

Grey felt annoyed by the fact that he had to run in such a manner. Despite the fact that none of the people who watched the battle looked at him with disdain for his actions, he still didn’t like running away from people, especially not being able to even land a blow.

In the past two days, he had pretty much recovered completely. The essence here is higher than that of the outside world, and given the number of treasures he had stored over the past few years, he didn’t have any issues with recovering his used essence.

He stood up and exited the room he used for cultivating. When he came to the temporary residence the Pyrmond Faction was given, he noticed that there was actually someone waiting there for him that day. It was none other than the Elder who was with Lord Dante during his last battle. The Elder took him to a place with a better cultivation environment for his recuperation. He didn’t show any courtesy and accepted the help. There was no way he would give up such an opportunity.

He opened the door and was taken aback to see that a young lady was standing outside the room.

Seeing Grey come out, the young lady hurriedly bowed to Grey, "Young Lord."

Grey was taken aback, not used to being addressed in such a manner. He inspected the young lady and was surprised she was actually a Ninth stage Venerable. If he’s not wrong, this young lady should be around twenty or twenty-two years old. Only somewhere like the Pyro Faction could produce such geniuses.

"Can I help you with something?" Grey was still a bit confused as to what this person was doing outside the cultivation room he was using.

"I was ordered to handle all your requests, Young Lord." The young lady replied respectfully, she took a peek at Grey’s face and couldn’t help but blush.

Grey’s facial features were just too outstanding, and given his shocking potential, it’s natural for most young ladies to want to have some sort of interest in him. Unfortunately, Grey had never thought of even developing any feelings for anyone due to always being focused on trying to improve his strength. He felt that if he had a partner now, he would be under more pressure to grow stronger since he would also want to protect her. Albeit being a good boost to grow stronger, too much pressure might make one unstable and easily fall.

"Oh, you don’t have to worry about that. I’m heading back to meet the rest of my companions." Grey waved his hand, not interested in being treated in such a manner, he thanked the young lady and departed.

When he got back, he went straight to meet up with Faction Leader Bertram. He wanted to improve his strength, and the treasures he would be given by Lord Dante were the beginning of it. He didn’t plan to stay in the Pyro World and planned to leave immediately after he finished refining these treasures. If his luck is good, he might be able to add two more domains to the four he already has, if not, he didn’t want to think too much about it.

Faction Leader Bertram was already waiting for him, but seeing him come so soon was unexpected. After studying him curiously, he asked, "Finished healing?"

Grey nodded.

"Alright, come with me."
