Chapter 1873 Reunion I
Klaus was quite tempted to see what was happening on the other side of the passage, after all, humans have been taken there as captives and some would most likely die from the torture they might go through there. Unfortunately, Klaus was not as confident as Grey when it came to these things. Having the space element gave Grey the opportunity to take such risks, something Klaus did not have. With no other choice, he sealed the passage. Given his current strength, sealing a passage is not too difficult for him.
He left as soon as he was done. The surviving group of eight took the bodies of their diseased companions back, in hopes of giving them a proper burial. The corpses of the Gnomes and their Puppets were all destroyed.
Klaus did not return to the Moonlight Faction after he was done with his mission, he sent word back to inform them of what happened here and also told them of his plan to scour the territory around the Moonlight Faction for any traces of Gnomes. The Faction Leader did not stop him, only warning him not to take any risks.
With his new freedom, Klaus' first instinct was to visit someone quite important to him. Thinking of the condition of how things are in the Moonlight Faction territory, he opted to go after he was done with his investigation. Coming to a decision, Klaus immediately got to work. He would only be able to leave this area once he was certain the Gnome activity was not that rampant.
Time flew by as Klaus started searching around for any Gnome activity. In the blink of an eye, it has been well over two weeks since he started his search, and within these few weeks, he has destroyed two passages linking their World to the Gnome World. His only dissatisfaction is that he was not able to find any passage that could transport powerful Gnomes, just those in the Mid stages of the Sovereign Plane and below.
Looking at the debris in front of him, Klaus shook his head in pity. This used to be a prosperous Town, he had been here before, but thanks to the Gnomes invasion, the Town has been reduced to rubbles.
"I wonder where Grey is." He muttered to himself.
He has been able to contact both Reynolds and Alice since his hunt, and the duo were also doing the same. Grey, on the other hand, did not reply to any of his messages. The thought of Grey being dead did not even cross his mind even though he had not been able to reach him yet.
The thought of visiting Grey's parents came to mind, but he recalled his Faction Leader telling him of how Lucas Dawson is one of the people holding down the fort in a small and weaker Continent. This was the Continent he was born in, and hearing about it, he felt a little nostalgic and genuinely wanted to go. Leaving his friends behind while going is not something he could do, especially Reynolds and Alice. Unlike himself and Grey, the duo's family were still in the Azure Continent, and since coming here, they have not been able to contact their families even once, and they have spent well over ten years in this place.
Other than Reynolds and Alice's family they had to visit, there was still the Trial Land that he has now come to know that is an ancient Faction hidden in secret worlds through powerful means just like the Crescent Moon Faction. His father was taken there after being seriously injured, losing his cultivation in the process. Although Uncle Chris has been able to keep Grey updated about Klaus' father's health, he did not receive any good news about his father recovering his cultivation.
While Klaua was still in a state of reverie, he felt a familiar vibration from his space ring, taking out the familiar wooden plaque Grey passed to them as a communication device, he sank his Spiritual Sense into it.
"I should meet up with the others." A smile crept on his face.
During the period of being unable to contact Grey, he asked the others for them to meet up so they could discuss if they should head back to the Azure Continent without Grey or if they should wait for his arrival.
The message he just received was from Alice, telling him she just met up with Reynolds and also telling him of their current location. He had missed his friends all this while, now that he could meet with them again, he felt a little happy, at least compared to the sadness and gloominess that have enveloped him after seeing some of the impact of the Gnomes' invasion. The thought of what they could possibly accomplish if they successfully invaded scared him. He could not help but feel thankful that for some reason, the truly powerful Gnomes can not pass through all the passages, making their work a little easier, at least for the moment.
One of the reasons he missed Grey during this current search was because for some reason, the Gnomes were like a beacon to Grey, if anyone got within a certain distance of him, he would be able to sense them, and this is not about a few meters, but even a few kilometers. If Grey was with him, he would not need to do such extensive searches as he would be able to sense anyone within his surroundings. Throwing these thoughts to the side, he rushed in the direction Alice told him.
It only took him about a day or so before he arrived at the location the duo gave him. A few kilometers from there, he could hear and even feel the impact of battle. Without hesitation, he rushed there. His friends were most likely there fighting, so if he could help out, he did not mind helping out.
It was only after a few seconds did his expression change, "You have to be kidding me."
