Chapter 858: Chapter 8 Crossing the Battle Lines_4
The young man nodded, took an apple from the fruit bowl, and said, “An apple will be enough for me.”
After speaking, he walked down the stairs with the apple, followed by Helman’s wife.
Helman’s child asked, “Will we rise up?”
Helman inquired, “Do you hope we will?”
“Of course. The Prosens arrived when I was just nine years old, you said I wasn’t as tall as a rifle. Now I am fifteen and taller than a rifle, and I can shoot a Sten Submachine Gun!”
The United Kingdom provided significant support to the Melania Resistance Organization, including a large number of airdropped Sten Submachine Guns.
These guns have many disadvantages, and resistance warriors generally prefer the Prosens’ MP40 submachine guns, but MP40s are not that easy to come by, while Stens are abundant.
Helman said, “Don’t rush to shoot the Sten. Tomorrow, go do some reconnaissance and see how the Prosens react. If the Anteans are indeed launching a major attack from the Southern Front, the Prosens will definitely mobilize.
“Remember, when you see Prosen armored vehicles, not only remember the model but also their insignias. This will help us identify the units they belong to and who their commanders are!”
Child: “Got it! I’ve done reconnaissance many times already. Tomorrow, I’ll hit the streets and uncover everything about the Prosens!”
Helman smiled, picked up the radio, and tuned back to the Antean broadcast.

Henry kept his eyes fixed ahead.
Podoliskov said, “You’ll pop your eyeballs out staring like that! Don’t worry, the thirty kilometers will pass in no time!”
Only then did Henry avert his gaze.
The infantry soldier beside him suddenly said, “I almost can’t remember how Melania Language road signs are written, after all these years of speaking Antenese.”
Podoliskov said, “That won’t do; we’ll be counting on you to translate those signs and find our way!”
“Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten my mother tongue,” Henry said.
Just then, eight attack aircraft from a P47 squadron roared overhead, apparently having just completed a bombing raid coming from the enemy’s direction.
Podoliskov picked up the microphone: “Pilots! I’m the tank with the Red Flag! What’s ahead?”
Henry couldn’t clearly hear the pilot’s reply and could only watch as Podoliskov covered one ear with his hand, his gaze following the planes.
“Okay, we got it. Thanks for the info.” After putting down the microphone, Podoliskov said to Henry, “The pilots bombed the enemy’s anti-aircraft artillery positions ahead and a headquarters, probably a division or army headquarters! Get your guys ready!”
Henry immediately shouted, “There’s a headquarters ahead and an anti-aircraft unit position. Get ready! We’ll follow the tanks and charge in!”
As soon as those words were spoken, a shell hit the tank Revenge.
The shell generated sparks on the turret and hit a beech tree behind the tank.
Only then did the sound of the explosion reach them, and Podoliskov shouted, “We’ve been hit by an 88mm cannon, it’s enemy anti-aircraft artillery! Get ready to combat anti-tank weapons! Henry, get your soldiers off!”
Henry said, “We’ll help you spot the enemy! More eyes make it easier to spot them!”
As he spoke, he caught a glint of light and shouted, “Ahead, in the farmhouse! The cannon is likely hiding there!”
Simultaneously with his words, an 88mm shell again struck the tank Revenge, evidently aiming for the turret ring but hitting the hull instead.
Podoliskov commanded, “Target the barn! Load high-explosive shells! Fire!”
The tank Revenge roared, the blast winds tousling Henry’s hair.
The next moment, the barn exploded in a colossal ammunition blast, its entire wooden roof lifted off, and an orange fireball soared into the sky.
