Child of Destiny
Chapter 1712: Another Member of the Pandemonium Troupe (part 2)...
Shin followed the route that he had created earlier based on the report that Hanzo and Grimrace had given him. They were able to easily infiltrate the ruins without getting noticed by anyone, especially with the help of Hanzo’s special abilities that could isolate them from the physical world.
This ability was quite mysterious and powerful, but Hanzo warned Shin not to use this technique too much as it would be dangerous for him.
Staying in the void for too long was too dangerous for those who did not belong to the void. It was fine for him as he was an Ancient Void Spirit, who was born from the void and grew up in it.
Shin, on the other hand, did not belong to that place, which was why it was dangerous for him to stay in that place as long as the void could devour him, and he would never be able to escape from it forever.
When you looked at the void, the void would also look back.
This was the reason why Shin and Hanzo could not rely on this ability that much. But since they were able to sneak through the senses of the Lord Rank Plague Monsters patrolling the perimeter of the ruins as well as the senses of the strong NPCs sent by the Evil Factions, they were able to solve their hardest obstacle.
Their stealth techniques were more than enough to help them reach their destination so long as they followed the infiltration route that they had planned out earlier.
It did not take that long before Shin reached the corridor leading toward the main tomb of this huge ruin.
Observing the place, Shin could not help but shook his head bitterly. "They sure know how to create a trap for those who would dare to infiltrate this place. There is only a single route that leads to the tomb hall, which is why there is only one entrance and exit.""This can only mean that it was impossible to sneak inside that easily, especially when it was easier to guard a single corridor rather than those complicated ones with multiple channels."
Not long after, Shin and Hanzo could see the huge ancient doors at the end of the corridor. Even from a distance, Shin could see the deep patterns engraved on the doors as well as the runes that were constantly pulsing with deep lights.
He was observing the patterns of the doors along with his True Sight Skill as he moved forward. He could also visibly see the dense Plague Energy that was rushing inside the doors as if something beyond them was absorbing the energy at an insane rate.
This sight confused Shin a little as it was the opposite of what he was expecting. This place was supposed to be the source of the Plague Energy that was corrupting the surrounding region but seemed to be the direct opposite of that.
It was only when he observed the flow of the energy that he noticed that this Plague Energy was different from what was filling the Plague Lands.
"They are carrying a dense Life Force that is robbed from the surrounding areas, particularly from the living creatures that had fallen victim to the plague corruption," he mumbled as he observed the mana flow in the air a little closer before adding. "I guess I will understand everything once I go beyond those doors."
Not long after, Shin noticed the group of people standing right before the giant ancient doors, seemingly guarding it.
Shin squinted his eyes as he looked at them, observing them from the distance. The other party could not see him and Hanzo due to the latter’s abilities that manipulated the surrounding space to create a veil that hid them.
From Shin’s initial observation, he could see that each member of the group was emitting a dense demonic energy, signifying that each of them was a strong demonic player.
They were lined up in an organized manner right before the ancient doors, standing like highly trained and disciplined troops ofthe military.
They were standing silently and unmoving like a group of stone statues.
They all were wearing a set of black cloaks that Shin was very familiar with as those cloaks carried the patterns and designs unique to the members of the Pandemonium Descendants. The only difference that he noticed was the strange emblem that they were wearing other than the emblem meant for their organization.
This smaller emblem seemed to indicate the unit that they represented.
After observing each of those demonic players and gauging their strength, Shin proceeded to the person sitting on a stone chair that seemed to be created from earth elemental mana.

This person was emitting a much denser demonic energy compared to the rest of the group and also rivaling those powerful demonic players that Shin had encountered before.
It coincided with what Hanzo had reported to him earlier, which signified that this person was the leader of this group.
The other party was wearing a sleeveless war robe along with a set of dark armor, which were amplifying the denseness of his demonic energy.
A hood was also hanging over his head, covering his face with the shade created by it. But there was also a noticeable pair of horns sticking out from the edges of the hood, signifying that this person was no ordinary demonic player.
Their race was most likely comparable to Hoawin, the God of Carnage, who Shin had defeated before – a True Demon.
This guy was leaning forward while sitting. Each of his elbows was resting on his knee with his fingers interlocking with one another.
A stone spear with an exquisite yet domineering design was also resting before him, leaning on his shoulder.
Staring at this person gave Shin the impression of a huge and oppressive mountain. A heavy pressure was passively being emitted from his body.
Based on the current appearance of this person, Shin tried to figure out their identity according to the information that he had gotten from Diablo before.
"Morax, one of the Thirteen Archdemons and the ’Wise Demon’," mumbled Shin as he fitted this person with the information he had inside his head.
"This is going to be a little tricky. Based on what Diablo has said, this guy is one of those with the strongest combat capabilities among the entire Troupe. Moreover, he is said that this guy is quite smart as well," clicked his tongue not knowing whether they were lucky or unlucky to bump into such a tough opponent.
Regardless, he would not be backing out from a fight, especially when fit against such a decent opponent.
He then glanced at the message box, waiting for the update from Cloe’s side. But the update that arrived seemed to be a little different from what he was expecting.
Arielle: Shin, I think there is some issue here. I bumped into a troublesome individual. She seems to be one of the players with a decent standing within the Corrupted Cult.
Arielle: She is hot on my heels.
Shin raised his brows a little as he was confident that Blackie and Grimrace would be more than enough to help her sneak inside given their respective abilities and elements, which greatly helped when it came to stealth missions.
"What happened?"
While he was thinking about where it went wrong, Cloe sent her another message.
Arielle: I don’t know how they have noticed me, but it seems like they are using a special device that can detect any sacred or holy type of energy from the surroundings.
This answered all the doubts that Shin was having just earlier. "Tsk! I have not considered that possibility. I have forgotten that these guys are the natural enemy of the Church of Light completely. Of course, they have a special means to detect their opposition."
Sickarius: Can you shake her off?
Arielle: I don’t think it is possible. This girl is locked on me completely.
Sickarius: Where are you?
Arielle: I am not far from your location. I am almost in the corridor.
Shin thought for a moment after seeing her reply. He then sighed as he knew that they needed to adjust their plans. "I guess we have to go with Plan C this time."
He then raised his head, looking at Morax and his subordinates in the distance.
"Hey, Old Man. Can you isolate this place and prevent anyone from entering the place once Cloe arrives?" he asked.
Hanzo frowned for a moment, seemingly displeased by what Shin had said, but still replied. "That shouldn’t be a problem. But you should be aware that I can’t do that much with my current state given that you are still too weak."
"For how long can you hold out?" Shin asked.
"A dozen minutes at most. But if there are any Lord Rank Monsters on their side, then it can be less than that. However, I can still make it at six to seven minutes," replied Hanzo instantly.
Shin nodded his head. "That should be more than enough to break through these guys and enter the tomb hall."
"Get ready," he said while instructing the old elemental to remove him from the ’invisibility’ skill.
Swoosh!
Right after he appeared in the corridor, Morax, who was sitting silently on his stone chair, immediately sensed the disturbance in the air and felt the foreign presence approaching them.
Raising his head, he saw a silhouette of a hooded individual walking toward them. He squinted his eyes a little, making his pupils turn gold. The other party’s appearance was clearly reflected in his eyes through this.
He then started grinning after recognizing the other party. He took his stone spear leaning on him with his right hand as he stood up. "I have been waiting."
