Governor Knox
My fingers lightly touched Osward and Kruabar with the Governor’s Blessing. It is an enhancement skill; it will enhance all their attributes.
The enemy is strong, from a very powerful organization.
Night Manor, one of the most powerful organizations on Mayhurst Island and the continent, with an Lv. 50 powerhouse leading it.
On top of that, it’s a heritage organisation. Older than the kingdom of the undead itself.
Like inheritance skills, the skills of their predecessors are passed on within these organisations.
Their members are a cut above the regular assassins in classes, skills, and training. Making them extremely dangerous, I deactivated every skill I used and focused everything into Governor’s Presence.
Aside from the Governor’s Blessing, it is the only skill I could help with.
In this place, in the seat of my power. It becomes even stronger.
A moment passed, and she appeared in front of Kruabur out of thin air, with other Lv. 30 assassins appearing above Osward.
They appeared in front of my bodyguards; they wanted to kill them first. Once they are dead, they will be free to kill me and every person here.
As they did, they launched their swift attacks. So much that they felt blurry.
Especially of the woman’s attacking, Kruabar. I had doubts about him defending the attack, but to my surprise, he had brought his big shield, stopping the blade.
Clang!
Surprising her, he defended against the attack, while the other assassin dodged as the wind arcs approached him.
They disappeared and appeared a moment later, exchanging places. The girl attacked Osward while the man attacked Kruabar.
Osward immediately sent Earth Spears at the woman, but to my surprise, she dodged between them.
Earth Spear Hail is a Grade IV spell; it is hard to dodge this spell from meters away, but she dodged it from a meter away and went for Osward.
It shocked me and I wanted to call out Osward, but I was so panicked that I couldn’t even bring out a word out of my mouth.
Unlike me, Osward remained calm. Steel needles burst out of her staff, and behind them was a blast of fire.
Immediately, the assassin moved back and disappeared. At the exact moment, the other assassin disappeared as Kruabur defended against his attack.
‘You need to be calm, Governor,’ a voice rang out in my mind. It was even, without panic.
I looked at Onaz standing beside me; I could not see even a hint of panic in the woman’s eyes. Like always, her face is expressionless.
She is right, I need to be calm. I cannot panic; it will only help the enemies and stop me from aiding my people.
I took a deep breath, willing myself to be calm. It is hard, but I forced myself, before focusing on my skill, Governor’s Presence.
The presence skills are powerful, with those belonging to the ruling class being the strongest.
The whole purpose of skill is to be suppressive, and its power is greatest in this place.
I concentrated on it, willed the skill to suppress the enemies while sparing the allies, just like Lord Silver had taught me, when he came here last time.
It’s hard to concentrate with assassins everywhere, with people panicking.
The guards are experienced; they have put people in the corner and are now dealing with the assassins. Although only four assassins deal with them, the remaining six are after me.
The two most powerful are attacking my two bodyguards, while four assassins are fighting against the other guards surrounding me.
I focused my skill on these ten, wanting to be as suppressed as possible.
As I was able to focus, I could see the effects. It seemed to be affecting the assassins, except for the two who were attacking my bodyguards.
Time passed, and they continued the attacks, while my bodyguards defended me.
Every time these assassins attack, I feel scared. They are coming very close, just a few inches more, and they would bring death.
Hun!
They were attacking when suddenly, they did something different.
They came at me instead of my guards. Directly toward me, as they did, Kruabur moved at speed, I hadn’t thought he could, while Osward released several spells at once, pushing them away.
Osward and Kruabar are powerful, but they were also given special training, including dealing with the assassin.
Jon himself trained them.
I could see anger flaring in her eyes as her attempts were thwarted. Feeling my gaze, she turned toward me.
“It’s not too late, Miss Blava. You could still leave,” I said to her. Looking directly into those pale grey eyes. “You will not get that chance, once the reinforcement arrives,” I added.
“Never. I will not leave, till I kill you whores!” she replied, looking at me and Onaz with vengeful eyes, before she disappeared.
Thud Thud!
She had just disappeared when the door began to ring loudly.
The guards surrounding the city hall had arrived. The others, including the police commissioner, are coming. All we have to do is survive till then.
These two may be powerful, but even they wouldn’t be able to deal with the coming numbers.
…
Blava Moor
Thud Thud!
‘Fuck!’ I heard the door and couldn’t help, but curse.
The guards outside the city hall had arrived and were pushing to break down the door.
I had locked the door and activated the Door Closed, along with Steel Chamber and a few other skills that others had activated, which would make it harder to break into.
However, given their numbers, we had at most a minute before they rushed inside.
The Lv. 30 and others will arrive in two to two and a half minutes. I have to finish the whores before that, but they are making it difficult, more than we had expected.
‘I hate fast casters!’ cursed Bamis. Me too.
We are the most elite assassins; killing mages is most difficult for us. We do not fear the powerful mages, because we are fast enough to dodge their spells before burying our daggers into their hearts.
That become difficult, when we face against the fast casting mages like this bitch.
We are fast; that is our strength. We are not more defensive than warriors; most assassins have weaker defenses. We could deal with the mages because we could avoid their spells.
It becomes harder with fast casters as they could launch spell after spell very fast, making it hard to dodge them.
‘Everyone, go all out!’ I ordered.
It is a command for the kill; so far, only two of us have been focused on killing, despite being unable to do so.
The others were focused on keeping the enemies at bay so that they wouldn’t disturb us. Their numbers are more than double ours.
It’s less risky to hold them back than kill them, but now things have changed.
We have less than a minute to finish off our target.
I could feel others activating the skills, and I activated mine, the most powerful.
Dance of Silken Thorn!
It is my most powerful skill; the only one I inherited from the Night Manor.
At Lv. 30, one becomes a true member of Night Manor when they acquire the heritage skills. Most get two, but I only got one.
But the one I got is one of the most powerful heritage skills.
It is one that the Night Master has, but he got it at level 40, while I got it at level 30. It is a very powerful skill, but just as taxing; that is why I only use it when needed.
It is time I use it.
I want to kill these whores and I will use my most powerful skill to do that. The skill that made me one of the sixteen shade cloaks of the Night Manor.
Activating the skill, I appeared out of the shadows before the half-orc. The half-orc is good; he also has short-range speed skill.
Their range is short, but they give a good burst of speed.
He has also been trained to guard the charge against assassins. Just like that bloody mage and become a wall between whores and me, but now, that wall will crumble.
My dagger moved toward him in Silent Rend and Swift Fang quickly, but he also moved quickly and pushed his shield toward me.
‘This time, you will not!’ I said as my blade reached his shield, when suddenly, it went over it.
I could see the surprise, but he reacted fast. Moving only a step.
Rip!
My dagger missed his neck and gave a deep cut across his shoulder.
It is a little disappointing, but it didn’t matter; he wasn’t a target. I moved toward the target when I saw his sword coming toward me, very fast.
Ting!
It surprised me, but I smiled, and the next moment, my dagger clashed gently against his sword, creating a melodic sound.
It shook him, forcing him to take a step back. I used the counterforce, jumped over the blade smoothly, and moved toward the target.
I was about to attack when I saw a spell before me.
I thought Bamil would keep her busy, but she was able to slip the spell toward me.
It is Stone Spikes, and there are tens of them.
I didn’t stop or retreat; I just adjusted my position with the Dance of Silken Thorn before moving my dagger, activating Flick Deflection and Swift Fang.
Clang Clang Clang!
My blade flashed and clashed against Stone Spikes, and I began to deflect them while I continued to move forward toward the target.
There are many of them, but my dagger is fast and deflected each spike after another.
I struggled with protective defence when I was young, but my brother taught me daily. He used to forgo his own training to train me.
He used to get lashes for that, but he still would help me whenever I struggled.
He had suffered too much, and I wanted to pay him back for it, but these whores had killed him.
Now, I will kill them.
Not only these two, but each and every one. Especially those two, they are not going to get a quick death; I will torture them till they regret what they did and beg for death.
Even then, they will not get the mercy of death.
Clang!
The last one of the stone spike deflected, lodging into the roof. as I appeared in front of the whore.
She is covered in defensive spells, but that was never a problem for me. Beside my dagger is an artifact; even without any skill, it could tear through them.
“Die whore,” I said and swung my dagger toward her.
I expected fear in her eyes, but there was none. Instead, there is a defiance.
The rage burned in my heart, and I pushed my dagger even faster toward her when something happened.
The second whore appeared in front of her. It immediately brough shock and fear in the eyes of the first whore.
I wanted to stop the attack; the second whore isn’t important. Killing her would have been just the cherry on top, but seeing the fear appearing in eyes of the first, I moved to kill the second whore.
If there is no suffering, then there is no meaning in killing.
If the first whore will feel the hurt at the death of the second whore, then I will kill her. Let her feel a fraction of pain, I am in before killing her.
Puch!
A moment later, my dagger reached her. Tearing through the defensive spells and skills around her, before reaching her chest and burying my dagger into it.
