“You three can’t produce any identification and are considered stateless. According to the territorial jurisdiction rule, Da Zhou has jurisdiction over you.”

“You’ve refused to undertake mental health assessments, so we’ll assume you don’t have any mental disorders.”

“Disturbing public order, assaulting people in public, resisting law enforcement, your sentence is administrative detention for fifteen days.”

The person that Witch Han threw out of the teahouse wasn’t injured seriously enough to warrant criminal charges.

“Anyone not satisfied with the punishment decision can appeal to the superior government office within ten days.”

Appeal your ass! Witch Han cursed inwardly, his anger boiling over. He had never suffered such a great humiliation before.

A mere Nascent Soul Cultivator, judging them, and planning to lock them up.

As soon as I regain my power, you will be the first one I kill!

The three had never faced such humiliation before. Despite wanting to resist, they were no different from ordinary people. The officials dragged them into the dark, damp prison.

The man with the snake-like eyes quickly calmed down: “We must remember this lesson. The weak have no possibility of resistance. If we were cultivators, would we be in such a predicament?”

The prisoner also under detention scoffed, “What kind of crap lesson is this? If you screw up, you should accept punishment. You think being cultivators gives you special privileges? Even if you are, even if it’s the heavenly king himself, if you commit a crime in Da Zhou territory, you’d still be locked up.”

“I am a God-transformation stage cultivator, yet here I sit quietly.”

Only then did the trio notice that the prison was split half and half between ordinary people and cultivators, with the highest cultivation level being at the Divinity Transformation Stage.

Witch Han scoffed, “For a high-level cultivator like you, willingly succumbing to law enforcement, even proudly so, is utterly ridiculous. You’ve completely lost face for all cultivators.”

The God-transformation stage cultivator was not intimidated. “Who should really be ashamed, you should think about that. Power is always relative. If you abuse the weak and have the power of life and death as you please, do not have complaints when a more powerful being comes to kill you.”

“You dare to curse me!”

The man with the tiger pattern stopped Witch Han. “Enough. Don’t stoop low by arguing with an inferior cultivator.”

Witch Han thought for a moment, deciding this was the reasonable course, and stopped talking.

“Our immediate plan now is to regain our cultivation and somehow get in touch with Lord Lu Wu to inform him of our predicament and ask for his help.”

“We can’t use immortal power and spiritual energy, we can’t even open the Storage Ring.”

“From what I gather, it seems your cultivation has been sealed?” a prisoner from the neighboring cell asked with interest.

“What if it has?” Witch Han responded displeased.

The man laughed, “Sneaked in from another world, right? I’ve seen many like you.”

“Let’s hear more about this.” The man with the tiger pattern was not numb to shame.

Witch Han and Snake-eye man knew how proud the man with tiger stripes was. Now, to develop a better relationship, he was forced to call the other man a “fellow practitioner”. The moment they regain cultivation, they would have to kill and discard all evidence.

The man oblivious to the danger at hand began, “Dao Zong and Emperor Shun have once set up a formation here in Da Zhou. Any outsiders who sneak into Da Zhou without registration will have their bodies and mana sealed.”

The man with the tiger pattern nodded. It made sense that in Great Witch Country there had been no issue, but in Da Zhou they landed into such a situation. If Dao Zong and Emperor Shun were behind this, it would make sense.

The actions of these two would come as no surprise.

“So how do we break this seal?”

“Simply leave Da Zhou.”

The trio exchanged glances, their faces lit up in joy.

“May we know your name?”

“Zhou Li.”

During the fifteen days, the trio didn’t idle. They inquired Zhou Li about the Earth Veins.

“No wonder Lord Lu Wu asked us to investigate the Nine Provinces Earth Veins. Judging from the description, it is very likely the nascent form of Heavenly Dao. Emperor Minghuo is in big trouble!” Witch Han excitedly stated. To overthrow Emperor Minghuo, Lord Lu Wu would be generous with his rewards.

Fifteen days later, the trio got out of jail. Coincidentally, Zhou Li was also released.

“Are you three leaving Da Zhou? That’s good timing, I’m also heading to the Imperial Palace. Why don’t we go together?” Zhou Li invited them voluntarily.

“Okay, we happen to be heading to the Imperial Palace too.” The man with the tiger stripes replied, agreeing to that. They were strangers to this land, so having a local person leading the way was the best option.

“The food in the prison was bland, and I’m craving something spicy. I know a great noodle place, would you three like to join?”

“Let’s go.”

“Boss, we’ll take four bowls of noodles. Add an egg to mine, and give these three the deluxe version—add an egg, sausage, bean curd steak, all of it.”

Seeing Zhou Li’s radiant smile, the boss joked, “Did something good happen?”

Zhou Li’s smile widened, “Well, these fine gentlemen are hitting the road soon, so I felt like celebrating with something good.”

As soon as the boss heard that, he scooped three chunks of beef the size of soybeans from the bottom of the pot and placed them into the trio’s bowls as a mark of respect.

After finishing their meal, the foursome left Da Zhou.

“You three are foreigners and didn’t register. It won’t be convenient to take the official route or ride a carriage because there will be constant obstacles.” Zhou Li explained why he was taking them through a mountain path.

The trio had long lost touch with the hardships common people face. After walking such a long journey, they were dirty and unkempt. Their hair was filled with leaves and bugs, and they looked absolutely pathetic.

“Finally, finally… we’ve regained our power!” The trio could feel the seal weakening and they finally reentered the Heavenly Immortal realm.

The man with the tiger pattern didn’t want to dirty his own hands, so he gave Snake Eye man a look to deal with Zhou Li.

He took out a communication talisman in preparation to contact Lord Lu Wu and report the situation.

“We still have quite a distance to cover to the Imperial Palace on foot, which won’t be easy. Now that you three have regained your powers, could you perhaps fly me there?” Zhou Li asked, seemingly oblivious to the imminent danger.

The Snake Eye man let out a cruel smile, “You’re too heavy, youngster. We can simply take your heart to the Imperial Palace instead.”

Witch Han started flexing his fingers, releasing the Heavenly Immortal aura, ready to raise hell.

The nascent form of Heavenly Dao already exists. There’s no need for them to hold back anymore. Throughout the Nine Provinces, they had already suffered too much humiliation. Now, it was time to wash it off with blood.

Zhou Li was extremely scared, his voice trembling, “Don’t push me into using my power.”

Witch Han laughed loudly, “Go ahead and try…”

A flash of white light, and the next second, Witch Han’s head was separated from his body. His Heavenly Immortal aura, which he hadn’t fully released, disappeared without a trace.

“I’ve never heard such a request.”

Zhou Li displayed an indifferent expression.

“Lord Lu Wu, I confirm that a nascent Heavenly Dao has taken form in the Nine Provinces and the Human Emperor is its embodiment. We three were just about to go to the Imperial Palace to finalize the evidence, secure control over the Human Emperor, and the Earth Veins.”

From the other end of the communication talisman, an ethereal immortal voice rang out. It was as if one was about to rise and immerge into the heavens, giving a loftily splendid feeling.

Upon hearing the Tiger Stripes’ man’s report, Lu Wu’s face showed a rare smile.

“Ying Zhao, you have done well…Who is behind you!”

Ying Zhao quickly spun around, wide-eyed and astonished.

Zhou Li was calmly walking towards them, nonchalantly, as though he was strolling around a patio. Behind him lay two colossal bodies, Witch Han’s real body and the snake-like man’s true body. One was stationary, the other dynamic, the sight was incredibly shocking.

Zhou Li held Ying Zhao by the neck with one hand and picked up the communication talisman with the other.

“Let me introduce myself, my name is Jiang Li, and I am the Human Emperor you’re looking for.”
