Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1059: Take The Risk?

Raze's fingers were locked into the flesh of Mosak. His Dark Magic was already wreaking havoc inside his body. It was beyond the situation where he could reverse what he had done unless he had Light Magic at his disposal.

The issue was that, with how much affinity he had gained with Dark Magic, it would be an almost impossible task for him to gain any affinity with Light Magic.

Regardless of all this, Raze stopped for a moment. Defeating opponent after opponent, beast after beast, and after learning the Demonic Extraction technique, Raze had used it as one of his main methods of growing strength.

Typically, there were two differences with Raze. One was that the extraction technique didn't work as well or as powerfully when used by others compared to Raze. He himself didn't quite know the reason for this.

Was it due to the lingering Divine warrior from the Demonic Faction being attached to him, the bloody woman? Or was it due to his experience with magic and his ability to control mana perfectly that made it easier for him to perform? At the end of the day, it was likely a mix of these two things.

As for the second difference, an individual would never be able to best those who were stronger than them. For Raze, using his magic and Qi skills allowed him to defeat those far more powerful than him in terms of Qi.

Warriors who had lived hundreds of years building up their cultivation. After defeating them, he absorbed it all, adding it to his power. These were the things that had allowed Raze to grow his cultivation far quicker than others, and he planned to use it once again to take yet another step forward.

It was the first time since doing this that he contemplated not absorbing the energy from Mosak.

'My body... it certainly feels like it's already reached the peak. Almost as if the cells that make up a human can't grow any further. It's the same feeling one's mana core has when they reach the 8th star.

'In the past, people thought there was no way to reach the 9th star, and breaking through that limit itself is an enlightenment that only 9-star mages can understand. A new understanding of the mana around them. There's no doubt in my mind-if I absorb Mosak, this body will reach the Divine warrior stage.'

The fear of the unknown was hitting Raze. The Divine warrior stage was certainly stronger than the Middle stage. But what did that mean for him? What Raze knew was that Divine warriors couldn't use their full strength in Pagna.

But what about ascending to the other realm? Would he be forced out of this world? How would he come back to Pagna? Or would any of that happen at all? Mosak was in a mage's body, and he was still able to use his Divine energy even now.

"Warriors of Pagna!" Raze shouted.

It didn't take long for Lince to rush over, along with Zon, and it wasn't just them. Hearing the shout from Raze, even Beatrix came rushing over with the Golden Globe still in her hand. She decided to stay a few meters away, still cautious of Mosak, who still appeared to have some sign of life in his eyes.

"The Divine realm. What happens when a person reaches that stage?" Raze asked.

His hand was starting to weaken, the effect of the pill already wearing off. All of the mana was beginning to drain from his body. He still had some Qi, but even that seemed to be fading.

Regardless, it didn't look like Mosak could do anything anyway. He perhaps only had a few seconds left.

"The truth of the matter is, we don't really know," Lince answered. "The last time there was a Divine warrior was hundreds of years ago. And even if there were recent ones, it seems to happen after large-scale fights, leaving almost no witnesses alive.

"From what I can say, once a person reaches the Divine stage, it is stated that they

immediately exit this realm, not to be seen for a while."

"And about coming back here? About coming back to Pagna?" Raze asked.

If he went to the Divine realm now, it would cause him a large amount of trouble. What he needed-the Golden Globe-was here, not up there. Even the people he was after were not in the Divine realm.

"That I do not know," Lince answered, and judging by Beatrix's silence, she didn't know the answer either.

"I'll tell you," Mosak said, his eyes half-closing, but his smile remained on his face. "Coming back down from the Divine realm is no easy task. I don't know who made up that rumor about Divine warriors descending, but that privilege is only granted to a select few."

"Maybe it started to stop people from destroying clans after their most powerful warriors ascended. But regardless, it's not easy at all. Belil was forcefully sent back down here by another. He was essentially kicked out of the Divine realm."

"He's lucky he even survived, and no one was sent after him. But I guarantee it won't be the same for you. Those who can descend have eyes and ears everywhere. Knowing what you've done, they won't let you leave that place so easily!"

Mosak's breathing was becoming very shallow, and his Qi was quickly fading into nothing. In front of Raze was perhaps the power he needed to go against the Grand Magus.

He was still a 6-star mage, so he had three more stars to gain and was not at the peak of his magical ability. Even as a 9-star mage, he had failed before, so he needed the Qi to aid him.

'I have to make a choice right now. Do I take the risk... or do I not?' Raze thought to himself.
