Chapter 3594: Make It Quick
Royer opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but nothing came out. Make it to the end in ten years? As far as they know, probably only Triaglia, the Universe Owner, did it. Well, she and the other owners from the other universes. Nonetheless, it seemed too far-fetched.
’Master,’ Elsie contacted him, ’After what you saw, do you think it is possible?’
Royer turned back to Elsie, pondering a bit. ’I can’t say... but one thing is certain, they definitely have the best chance among all the experts I know, including the bats. We just won’t be there to see it.’
’We won’t?’ Elsie asked back, surprised. She thought her master would push to the end regardless. Of course, she didn’t want it. She only wanted to leave now that she helped rescue him.
’To be more specific, at the moment, I wouldn’t try it,’ Royer explained better. ’After all, if we get to the end and find Camazotz Bats there, chances are we will be used as a sacrifice by them, especially if a battle takes place. Don’t forget what we found about ourselves. However, if we manage to capture one of their big shots and find out how to get rid of whatever causes us to die for them, then I can reconsider making it to the end.’
’I see...’ Elsie understood. ’I still would prefer we find a safe place and wait there until the time is up. But I know you, and you won’t give up that easily. You are stubborn as fuck, master.’
’Shut up!’ Royer complained but didn’t refute.
The journey in that fiery molten ocean continued. Then, a month and a few days went by when suddenly, someone’s shield began to grow weak. As a result, the Sphere reduced its speed below normal, catching everyone’s attention. As one could expect, the very first experts everyone looked at were the ones of the twins’ group.
Roan glanced at them. "What the fuck are you all looking at? We still have some of Divine Energy to use." They were full, actually...
*Ugh...*
Then they heard a grunt, and their attention turned to the experts of Universe F949. That was Meconth’s group, which was the only group other than the twins’ to have an expert below the Divinity Realm. Sure enough, they found the right platform and the right expert there. It was Jangalo, the Space-Time Realm expert from F949.
Meconth narrowed his eyes, looking at his companion. Jangalo came from the same clan as himself, and he brought him along because Meconth knew he was loyal above all. Yet, his loyal subject was the first one to start running out of Divine Energy. That came as a surprise since the twins’ group, which had experts at the Elemental Space Realm, were still kicking. "Jangalo, how do you feel?"
Jangalo gritted his teeth. Because the amount of Divine Energy he sent into his platform was reducing, that also affected how much the platform’s shield could protect him against the environment’s heat and yang energy. "S-Sorry, Master Meconth. I... I don’t think I can hold for much longer. I’m almost empty already. I just never t-thought it would take this long to cross this molten ocean."
"Meconth, do something," Shonror spoke, feeling annoyed. "If he falls, we won’t be able to make the sphere move."
"What a disgrace," Sesahi joined. "There are five Elemental Space Realm ants here, and this idiot in the Space-Time Realm is the first to run out of energy. Is your Universe F949 full of useless guys like this idiot?"
Meconth glared back at Sesahi, who didn’t feel the least bit threatened. Both were in the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm, after all. Still, the problem persisted. He had to find a way to allow his subordinate to recover his Divine Energy.
It wasn’t like there wasn’t Divine Energy in the environment. The concentration was actually pretty normal, and it could be used to recover. That’s why it took an entire month before the first victim of ’empty reserves’ appeared. It’s just that the platform still used more than you could recover over time in this place.
"Caio, do you think you can help?" Meconth asked his other companion, the same one he talked to back when they thought they would need to abandon the sphere.
Caio knew what Meconth wanted. "The temperature and yang energy of this place are too high. I can give him a respite of a few minutes, but then it will be me who will start running out of energy. My innate ability uses way too much Divine Energy."
For the others, it was hard to say if it was a welcome outcome or not. Sure, Caio was in the Divinity Realm, and having him use a lot of his Divine Energy would be good for the other groups. But that was only if they weren’t in this kind of situation where they need every single expert. If Caio also runs out of energy, then they will have two experts who can’t continue, which will get them stuck here.
"What about making a quick stop?" Rean asked. "That might give him some time to recover."
"That won’t work," Meconth spoke. "He still needs to keep his shield running, so he won’t recover anything."
"I know," Rean nodded and continued. "I’m talking about stopping for a little bit and then having Jangalo join someone else’s platform. We won’t be able to move since his platform will be empty, but at least he won’t need to use his Divine Energy to keep his friend’s platform shield running. Then, once he recovers a little, we can continue."
"That’s..." Meconth and the others had to admit it was a good solution. It would only delay them a bit. Meconth then turned to Sesahi, Shonror, and Royer. "Are you three okay with it?"
Royer just nodded. He wasn’t really the leader of his group like the others thought. "No problem here."
Shonror and Sesahi, as well as their companions, weren’t that happy, though. After all, they will have to keep using their reserves while the sphere isn’t moving at all. But then again, if they didn’t take this offer, Jangalo could possibly die, which would definitely be much worse. "Hmph! Fine! Make it quick."
