In the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm, thousands of Heaven's Warriors stood outside a palace. It didn't matter if they were a man or a woman. They stood on the platform, appearing orderly as they stood in line like they were soldiers in an army. Each of them exuded a dense aura of varying battle prowess, but not one of them was weak. Their aura was also special, and their unique nature stemmed from their physiques.
However, it wasn't like each one of them possessed different physiques. Most of them shared the same physique, but because the way they progressed their physiques was different due to using different resources, they could have more or less prowess.
Even amongst the Heaven's Warriors, equality wasn't present. However, they weren't the type to complain about it since they were all mostly determined to destroy unnecessary evil at all costs.
Nonetheless, they stood while gazing at a golden triangular structure. Its top edge was electrifying, seemingly connected to something else or many things. The purple lightning constantly arced and danced in the air, undulating with a mystical force unseen by ordinary people.
A golden-robed cultivator stood at the very front. His blue hair flowed down his shoulders and swayed in the air ever so lightly. He appeared to have a lean build, but he wasn't skinny. He possessed sharp, curved eyes and a long nose, making him seem quite intimidating.
"Are the Golden Pagodas in position?" A stern voice echoed from him.
"Yes, Venerable Knight." A Heaven's Warrior behind him echoed, "If the timing is right, all the nine pagodas will activate in ten seconds."
"Good."
The Venerable Knight nodded and walked towards the watched Golden Pagoda brim with energy as it was activated, waiting to connect with the other pagodas situated elsewhere.
In the distance, the people of the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm's Daynight Family whispered to each other.Amongst them, there were two brothers who conversed without suppressing their voices.
"Who's that? All of the Heaven's Warriors are reverential towards that golden-robed man at the forefront. Why do they call him Venerable Knight?"
"Well, you can't be blamed for not knowing since you just came out of seclusion. I heard Venerable Knights exist and have eliminated at least one Anarchic Divergent."
"What? Really?"
"Yeah, they did it solo, apparently."
"…" That person gawked as his eyes traversed towards that golden-robed man before he no longer dared to look at him straight, afraid that his peasant eyes would infuriate the Venerable Knight.
'What the hell!? I'm supposed to be a prince!'
He endured the self-inflicted humiliation and returned his gaze toward the golden-robed man, but he shot a look towards him, making him instantly lower his head.
'It's over…'
While he was feeling dread, the Venerable Knight entered the Golden Pagoda, and the entrance closed.
"You idiot!" The other person slapped the prince on the back of his head, "Why did you have to look at the Venerable Knight with such intense emotions!? You almost got us in trouble."
"Forgive me, imperial brother!"
"Hmph! Lower your arrogance, Jewel. This time around, we are not the main characters. Even more powerful entities have descended to hunt down the Divine Emperor of Death, who's still missing. If we let him live, then he will turn into a terrifying calamity that the world will not be able to stop."
He smirked, "Fortunately, it is said over nine Venerable Knights have descended in their avatar form to take down the Divine Emperor of Death."
"Avatars?" Jewel Daynight looked doubtful, "Would it be enough, big brother Prism?"
"Fool," Prism Daynight cast a condescending look at him, "They're avatars, but their main bodies are all above Autarch Stage. A mere avatar is enough. You don't get to be a junior and manage to defeat an Anarchic Divergent solo unless there was luck involved."
"Above Autarch…" Jewel Daynight's eyes shone.
However, he quickly frowned as he didn't even know the name of the next stage. They weren't told unless they had the aptitude or had reached the Empyrean Stage. They were still Level Nine Immortal Emperors, competing for the throne.
"Well, their avatars are said to be as strong as Venerable Elder Elluro Coldwing, so if the nine of them attack the Divine Emperor of Death together, they should definitely succeed. It's a given!"
Prism Daynight punched out and looked excited, "Finally, a scourge will die, and we can finally continue on with the race for the throne."
"True." Jewel Daynight laughed, "Our three brothers did something foolish and also dropped out, giving us more opportunities. It would be a crime to not make use of it."
"Indeed, so get back to seclusion, you weakling."
"Aiya!"
Prism Daynight kicked his brother in the butt and sent him flying. The two of them then left, appearing uninterested in the commotion in front of them. To them, it was the least of their concern since they were aware that they would not be able to do anything even if the Divine Emperor of Death stood before them other than run and fail.
Within the Golden Pagoda, it was dark. However, there was a golden bridge leading towards the distance.
The Venerable Knight walked on the golden bridge and arrived at a chamber where eight other golden bridges were connected.
From the other eight golden bridges, there were also eight figures closing in towards the chambers. They gathered together and sat in the chamber over the round table, looking all solemn.
"Any sign of the Divine Emperor of Death?" The Venerable Knight asked.
The other eight Venerable Knights were silent, indicating that they hadn't found the Divine Emperor of Death.
"It's been five months since the Covenant was established between the Celestial Transcendent and the Divine Emperor of Death. It's been two weeks since we appeared." He grumbled, "However, not a single one of us has found the Divine Emperor of Death even after going to the nine realms he pointed out? Is he playing with us, or are we incompetent?"
