Dragon Genesis: I Can Create Dragons

“Are you saying that you will strengthen the foundation of our Magic with just one element? Then what about the Mages with affinities with other Elements? Will they be useless from this day for—”
The Matriarch obviously did not hold Lavinia in high regard, and her words did not hide that. Kael narrowed his eyes at her words. He wanted to say something, but suddenly—
“Krriii!!!”
He saw Pyra flying in front of Lavinia’s face, her fists clenched, as if she was prepared to fight the whole world for her Lavinia. Clearly, the little spirit did not like how her Lavinia was being underestimated.
It wasn’t just Pyra. Sparkle was raring to go as well. Even Aqua, the usually gentle one, nodded as well, telling Lavinia to go, and Sylphy, the innocent little Ice spirit, held a strand of Lavinia’s hair, as if telling her that she was with her.
Kael couldn’t see other Spirits, but considering the Four’s reaction, it wasn’t difficult to guess what the other three were doing.
And just as Kael expected, as Lavinia raised her hand, all four Spirits he could see appeared around her.
“Krriiii!!”
Pyra giggled as she raised her tiny arms—and a bright fireball formed above her palm, flickering like a tiny sun.
“Kyaaa!!”
Sparkle raised her voice, as if competing with Pyra as to who would cast a bigger spell. A comically large bolt of lightning danced along her fingertips.
“Gruu!!”
Aqua followed with a gentle smile, conjuring a shimmering ball of water that spun slowly in the air.
“Brii…”
Sylphy twirled like a dancer, and a blade of wind cut through the air.
At the same time, plant vines, Earth rocks, and Ice Spikes appeared in the air as well. Clearly, the rest of her little helpers were with Lavinia as well.
Seven Elements hovered in the air, all at the same time, and the Matriarch couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
To her, who couldn’t see the adorable little creatures around Lavinia, this was all done by Lavinia alone.
What’s even more surprising was that she did not see her use any Magic Circle!
“How did you…”
She was out of words, and as if to seal her superiority even further—
“I never said I only had affinity with a single element.”
Lavinia declared without any change in her expression, but with seven elemental spells hovering around her, she seemed… a lot more dominant.
Morvain stared at her and gulped.
“I have affinity with every single element that exists in the world, and my affinity with any of my elements will be higher than any of your mages. I can guarantee you that.”
Lavinia declared.
It was an arrogant statement, but Kael knew it was the truth.
Even Morvain couldn’t outright deny those words. Not just her, the rest of the Elders in the Iron Council were the same—speechless.
Aelindra, the Warden of Provision and a Mage, stared at Lavinia in disbelief and—
“H-How did you cast these spells w-without the Magic Circles…?”
—she questioned, unable to hold back her curiosity.
Lavinia turned towards her and shrugged.
“As I said, you and your people severely lack knowledge that is now considered common in the outside world.
What I showed you just now is the ultimate form of Magic, a form I created myself—the Trueflow Magic, a Magic that does not require Magic Circles or Casting Time.”
Lavinia announced, and as if to flex even further, the elemental spells she summoned all circled around her, showing her complete control over them.
“The Trueflow Magic…?”
Aelindra stared at the woman in front of her with a dumbfounded look on her face.
The words ‘does not require Magic Circles and Casting Time’ instantly attracted her attention.
What sort of horrifyingly strong Magic was this?
Mages were already considered strong to begin with; however, they had a fatal weakness. They couldn’t take their opponents by surprise, they needed time to cast their spells, and whenever they cast a spell, their circles gave them away.
But…
A Magic with no Circles or Casting Time…?
Wasn’t that simply… undefeatable?
How is one supposed to defeat an enemy that can burn you alive with a flick of her finger?
“…can the Mages outside use Trueflow Magic as well?”
Suddenly, Korvath, the Commander of Watch, narrowed his eyes. At his words, the rest of the Elders became grim.
If this was indeed true, then…
It would mean that they would never stand a chance against them.
Lavinia, however, shook her head.
“As I said, I am the one who created it. No one else knows this beside me.”
Korvath looked visibly relieved when he heard those words. Aelindra, on the other hand, was now looking at Lavinia with a new shine in her eyes.
“Are you going to teach us this Magic?”
She questioned. The woman was having a hard time holding back her excitement.
Deep down, that was simply how all mages were—always curious, excited to learn more and uncover the secrets of the very world. One look at something new and they lose themselves, even someone as elegant as Aelindra was no exception to this rule.
Lavinia, however, poured a cold bucket of water on the woman’s head.
“None of you will be able to understand this Magic. As I said, your basics are too outdated. Your Magic lags behind severely even when compared to the common Magic outside, let alone compared to the True Magic.
At your current state, none of you can ever learn this Magic.
If you want to change that, you will need to rework your very foundation of Magic.”
Lavinia announced as she then turned towards the Matriarch.
“And for that, you need me.”
She declared as the elemental spells around her disappeared without making even the slightest effect on their surroundings—another demonstration of the level of control Lavinia had on her Magic.
“…”
Morvain stared at the Drakthar Princess in silence. She could feel Aelindra’s gaze from the side.
Those pale gray eyes that constantly told her to ‘let Lavinia teach her,’ or else she might lose her mind…
Morvain couldn’t possibly ignore that.
“I apologize for underestimating you, Princess Lavinia.”
The Matriarch nodded lightly.
“It is natural to be unconvinced, especially for someone at your standing. I do not blame you for it.”
Lavinia replied. Her words were gentle, but everyone in the Council could sense her arrogance.
“You are an essential we need.
Please teach Magic to Velmourn Mages.”
Morvain requested, and the instant she said those words, Aelindra’s expression brightened as she stared at her Teacher with an excited look on her face.
Yes, Lavinia Dragonborn now had a loyal follower inside the Iron Council.
