Alch-deer and Huntblade entered Lost Peak - the abode of Lostmetal and Goldclad.
“What ancestor? The oldest person now in Desolate Frontier is Tenth-gen Ancestor.” The two of them frowned.
Alch-deer and Huntblade exchanged glances. The statement was reasonable because Tenth-gen Chen was only second to Everlasting Jiang regarding age. A sizable minority would argue for North Kun God.
Since the two emperors originated from the Chen, they naturally sided with this camp.
“Ancestors, that’s not the issue here.” Alch-deer said: “We should greet the return of our ancient ancestor and do something for him.”
“Which is?” Lostmetal asked, not liking the sudden appearance of this unknown ancestor. Of course, he wouldn’t be so direct.
“The ancient ancestor wishes to add some colors to Silence Peak, hence the need for flowers and trees. We are here to give the message.” Huntblade said.
“Do as you please.” Goldclad said: “Look around to see if anything is suitable and bring it back. That should do.”
Despite not liking the new ancestor, the guy was still an ancestor. As emperors, they couldn’t be impolite and small-minded.
“Really anything?” Alch-deer smirked.“Of course, Lost Peak is large enough to have something you want.” Lostmetal became slightly impatient.
“Then what if I pick the alloy tree?” Alch-deer stared at them.
“No!” The two’s expression soured.
This alloy tree was their most precious ancestral tree. They spent eras growing it since it could produce numerous resources, helping them with cultivation.
Money grew on trees in this case, so how could they give it away?
“But you said anything, I only want the alloy tree, nothing else, Ancestors.” Alch-deer said with a smile.
“Alch-deer, anything except the alloy tree.” Goldclad negotiated.
“If you two want me to carry it back, I can only pick the alloy tree.” Alch-deer insisted.
“Alch-deer, what are you doing?” Lostmetal became serious.
Both were at stately realm, far stronger than either visitor. Lostmetal’s aura focused on the unreasonable deer demon.
“We are not here to pick up trees, only to deliver the message. What’s left is your choice, emperors.” Huntblade interjected.
“I don’t think they have a choice when it is the ancestor’s wish.” Alch-deer pushed the issue.
“Even our alloy tree?” Lostmetal’s mood soured.
“If it is lucky enough to earn the ancestor’s grace.” Alch-deer said.
Huntblade, on the other hand, didn’t want a fight. After all, they were still members of the same sect.
A conflict would lead to jeers from others and worst of all, exacerbate the existing rift.
“Alch-deer, are you speaking personally or for that ancestor?” Goldclad’s brows furrowed.
His gaze made everyone feel nervous as if a storm was approaching. If there were other disciples around, they wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure.
Alch-deer himself felt an invisible hand gripping his throat.
“Ancestor, is this violence against a messenger?” Alch-deer didn’t relent.
“Is that all you are, a messenger?” Lostmetal increased the pressure.
Both Huntblade and Alch-deer felt their spine bending as a result.
“Ancestors, what is wrong with expressing my opinion? Our Desolate Frontier is a civilized place so if I said something wrong, please enlighten me.” Alch-deer said.
“Not bad, Alch-deer. Looks like your wings are grown now and you want to fly above us, how disrespectful and unfilial.” Lostmetal said.
Due to the disparity in age and power, the other emperors viewed Alch-deer as a junior.
“Ancestor, what you accuse me of has no factual basis since it is not my intention.” Alch-deer said.
Huntblade winked at him, telling him to shut up. After all, these two emperors were indeed their seniors. Unfortunately, Alch-deer pretended he didn’t see the signal.
“Hmph.” Goldclad said: “You must understand the imperial realm is only the beginning. You have a long way to go before acting like this.”
“Ancestor, I am aware. I am only a junior before you but remember, the same applies to you when you stand before the ancient ancestor. And, we’re both emperors, mere beginners.” Alch-deer said.
Lostmetal and Goldclad exchanged glances. Alch-deer was right about one thing - he was still an emperor of Desolate Frontier. It’s just that they still viewed him as a junior like before who had to follow their commands.
“Well said, well said.” Someone clapped loudly.
A wave of imperial came next, engulfing everyone and startling the weaker visitors.
