Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy
Chapter 2705 - 2705: About the Inner RegionLang Luxin had the typical dark skin of a person living in Hell, with a tall and well-defined body, but not as muscular for a person with a strong cultivation base.
His physical look appeared to be somewhere in between 20 and 30, but Alex assumed his age was much larger than that.
Considering that he was alone in this desert and had survived for so long, he was bound to be so strong. And yet, it surprised Alex how easily he had given up. He wondered why that was.
Lang Luxin looked at him with a strange look too.
Alex saw that and couldn’t help but ask about it.
“I’m just surprised, senior,” the man said. “How do you not know about the Endless Night sect?”
“As I said, I come from outside of this place. I know nothing about the sects or the people living inside of this place,” Alex said.
The man frowned. “Then how did you manage to become an Immortal?” he asked.
Alex narrowed his eyes. “How can you tell that I’m an Immortal?” he asked.
“No one else would’ve been able to fly around that quickly,” Lang Luxin said. “That was how I knew you weren’t a participant.”
Alex paused for a bit. “One can’t be a participant if they already have a cultivation base?” he asked.
Lang Luxin was about to answer, when Alex cut him off.
“Or is it that it is pretty much impossible to become an Immortal without becoming a participant… no, without becoming a disciple of the Endless Night sect.”
Lang Luxin slowly nodded. “Outside of the Endless Night sect, I have never heard of anyone being able to cultivate past the True realms.”
“I see,” Alex said, quite interested in the sect now. He wanted to learn how they had managed to make cultivation possible without the Immortal Qi immediately breaking down into Saint Qi and the Saint Qi immediately breaking down into True Qi.
“I should go there then,” Alex said. “Where is the Endless Night sect?”
The man gave a blank look. “I don’t know, senior.”
“You don’t know? But aren’t you participating in their entrance test?” he asked.
The man shook his head. “The Endless Night sect is located in a hidden location that no one but their sect members know about. Each of the big cities has a branch of the Endless Night sect. They are the ones that hold the entrance tests. Only when we are finally selected do we get taken to the Endless Night sect.”
Alex nodded. “I see. That is a little troublesome, but if each of these cities have a branch of the Endless Night sect, then I can just ask them for their location.”
Lang Luxin made a face that seemed to say that Alex’s plan likely wouldn’t work, but he didn’t say it out loud.
“I must continue searching for beasts to kill, senior. The sun is coming up, so I must go fight some for my test,” he said.
Alex nodded. “I’ll continue along with you.”
Lang Luxin hesitated. “I cannot accept your help, senior. I will fail my test.”
“I won’t help you,” Alex said. “I will just sit by and watch. Is that okay?”
Lang Luxin thought for a bit and nodded. “That should work.”
Alex had many other questions to ask of the man, so he followed him for a while, learning more about this region.
He came to learn quite a lot about the place. He understood now that Sunhearts were treated as a form of currency, with decaying Sunhearts having twice as much value as one that wouldn’t decay for a while.
Alex understood that decaying Sunhearts would have infinitely more usability as compared to regular Sunhearts, so they were priced more.
Most of the cities did start as a gathering of tribes, but that had been such a long time ago that it had completely changed by now. While some cities still had a chief that ruled it, most were now governed by sects.
The more Alex heard about it, the more he realized how similar the situation was to the other realms. He could see similarities between how this place functioned and how the Blue Silk sect functioned back in the Myriad Spirit realm.
That made Alex quite curious on how the Endless Night sect came to be in the first place.
‘What a weird name too,’ Alex thought. He wondered if the name was a sort of wish, for the burning sun to disappear and the night to be all that filled them. These people would probably want nothing more than that.
Alex learned more about how large the inner region was, and to his surprise, the man said that it was so large that you could walk in a circle around it for over 10 years and still not make it back to where one started.
He would have likely not found any civilization in this region of the desert if he didn’t make his way to the river since everyone liked to live next to it.
Otherwise, one had to travel for months to find the other group of civilization.
That, of course, took no more than a day or two for Immortal Cultivators of the Endless Night sect. They were for that particular reason very prolific at moving around goods from various places around the desert.
“So the disciples of the Endless Night sect that end up becoming an Immortal are free to go anywhere they want, are they?” Alex asked.
“For the most part, yes,” Lang Luxin said. “But they too can’t enter the core region of the desert.”
“The core region?” Alex asked. “There is another place even deeper than this?”
He couldn’t help but frown. He thought he had already entered the deepest region.
“Yes. It’s the region where the sand turns darker red,” Lang Luxin said. “No humans live there though. It’s infested with strong beasts.”
“How strong?”
“So strong that it is said not even a hundred Immortal cultivators can defeat a single one together in a formation.”
