Some who were really shy did the same as Jiang Yue and Xu Yi, going up to ask questions together.
As a result, the math teacher’s smile never left his face throughout the period.
By the end of the class, the math teacher couldn’t leave.
Yet the math teacher wasn’t displeased at all, as it was the first time he had felt that the students in this class were so eager for knowledge, wanting to get into university.
Nothing could please him more as a teacher.
After two periods of math self-study in the evening, the following two periods were Chinese self-study. As the Chinese teacher took over the class, the math teacher still hadn’t left. He couldn’t help but walk to the students’ seats, addressing their questions and many students surrounded him, nearly bumping their heads together as they watched. The Chinese teacher was stunned, even wondering if she had entered the wrong classroom.
She stepped back two steps, stepped out of the classroom door, and looked up at the sign above. It indeed was Class 9 of third year high school sciences, which left her puzzled again.
Noticing the Chinese teacher had arrived, the math teacher then raised his voice and said, “Teacher He, wait a moment, I’m just finishing explaining this problem to the students.”
The Chinese teacher was still puzzled but subconsciously replied, “Alright, Teacher Cao, take your time, I’m not in a hurry.”
Finally, once the math teacher had finished discussing the problem and could leave, the Chinese teacher then took her place at the lectern. She hadn’t even settled into her seat when a student approached her.
The Chinese teacher instinctively gasped, her scalp tensing with fright. Could the student be about to hit her?
“Teacher, I don’t understand this problem.”
“What?”
“I don’t understand this problem.”
“Oh, right.” Like the math teacher, the Chinese teacher also feared the student might simply walk away, so she quickly grabbed the problem from the student’s hand and hurriedly looked at it.
Her face unconsciously broke into a smile.
From underneath the lectern, everyone watched and for the first time thought how adorable their teachers were.
The next day, the foreign language, physics, chemistry, and biology teachers of third year high school sciences Class 9 were also struck by this pleasant surprise. When they returned to the staff room, they all smiled like flowers and excitedly discussed the incident, displaying pride and a bragging demeanor.
This annoyed the other class teachers but also amused them. Those unaware would have thought only Class 9’s teachers were asked questions!
And with questions being asked, it naturally wasn’t just in the classroom but also in the office and even on the sports field whenever they encountered teachers. Even the principal and the head of the teaching staff, upon seeing this, felt as if Class 9 had undergone a complete transformation.
Jiang Yue accompanied Xu Yi to ask the teachers questions a couple more times, and then Xu Yi did not need Jiang Yue’s company anymore. She herself naturally approached the teachers without needing to muster up courage.
Sometimes, the teachers had so many questions that they didn’t even return to the staff room or go to the cafeteria for meals. They simply sat in the classroom, and the students who understood the material helped bring meals for the teachers and those asking questions, and then they all ate together while discussing the problems.
Sometimes even all the subject teachers would sit together in the classroom, eating out of their food containers while huddled together, helping the students understand the concepts that perplexed them.
Because of the students’ enthusiasm, the teachers were as if infused with vigor.
Also, because of this practice of asking questions, everyone always being together resulted in even better relationships among everyone in Class 9 than before. Needless to say, the relationships with the teachers had also improved, resembling a family, all with the same goal— to spare no effort for next year’s college entrance examination.
