First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 826: The Greatest Monster

Shin had many questions that he wanted to ask his daughter in that moment.

Why did she lay in the house with those dragons instead of out here with them?

Had Abaddon or any of them done anything strange to her?

Why didn’t these French toast sticks taste like the ones you buy in the grocery store?

Okay, so maybe not all of his questions were as dire as the rest. But they were still very pressing.

And yet, he was afraid to ask them. He didn’t want to compromise the fact that his daughter was talking to him again by making her upset.

So instead, he asked something much simpler.

"Can I hug you?"

Fiona never seemed like she was going to deny him for even a second.

Though she did seemed a bit fearful of what hugging him would feel like.

When he leaned in and took the initiative, she didn’t pull away and hugged him back.

But it was as she expected. Her father wasn’t wearing a false set of skin to hide what he was anymore.

He was hard. And cold.

The warmth that he used to have just wasn’t there anymore. And knowing that broke her heart.

"I’m sorry." Shin said quietly. "I should have told you- I should have told all of you about what I did."

Many more conflicting emotions ran through Fiona in that moment. It took quite a lot for her not to become misty eyed.

"It’s okay, dad. I’m sorry too…"

Today, Shin realized that his tear ducts were one of the few things that the doctor had left unaltered.

He was glad of that for some reason. Perhaps he was still more of a man than even he thought.

Who would have guessed?

Traversing through the cavern system was simple.

Members of the order had been issued hoverboards that they rode with expert proficiency. They moved at around 170 miles per hour, but sometimes the cavern had sharp turns, so they were only going about 60-70.

Abaddon and the girls others were still riding on the back of the two mounts. Each of them had little difficulty keeping up with the pace of the riders. They even seemed to want to go faster.

Abaddon was lost in thought during most of the voyage.

His mind kept flickering towards Eris and the strange and hectic way she had announced that she wasn’t coming back.

Eris wasn’t necessarily a big fighter, but she was big on staying together.

If all of her family was somewhere else, she’d never just make the choice to go stay at home.

Your journey continues with

Something had to be wrong.

But he honestly couldn’t think of what.

Perhaps it was the new baby having more complications..? Or maybe there was a reason why she needed to stay with the egg?

Abaddon didn’t have any idea. But he was dangerously close to running away to check on her.

But instead of rushing to do anything drastic, he decided to just pull out his phone and check on her again.

He decided to text her something simple, but something that would ultimately let her know he missed her and hoped she was okay. But at the same time, try not to overwhelm her.

…The older Abaddon got, the more complicated he found texting to be.

Me: We miss you and we hope you are okay.

’Send.’

Abaddon felt pleased with himself for not being overbearing and bogging his wife down with questions.

His phone vibrated again and he had to actively keep his tail from wagging when he saw she responded.

Sweet Baby Eris: I am fine, I’m sorry for the lack of an explanation. I’m on my way to see Asherah now, but when you have the time, we should talk about some things…

He now felt sick.

’Oh my god. She’s going to divorce me

Abaddon’s face lost all of it’s color. The world was spinning.

What did she want to talk about that she couldn’t say right now?? Obviously it couldn’t be anything good!

And going to Asherah?? Was she trying to find out if the creators actually frowned on divorce after all?!

His phone buzzed again.

Sweet Baby Eris: I realize that my last message may have made you prone to overthinking, so I just wanted to clarify that I am not mad at you, nor am I unhappy in our marriage. *Sends heart bubble gif*

Abaddon let out a sigh of relief so loud that everyone on the back of the beasts heard him.

"You alright there, dad?" Thrudd raised a brow.

Abaddon nodded as he scratched his cheek.

"Just… relieved that our path is finally going to open up." He lied.

There was no way that he was going to say what’d’ really happened with Belloc here. His son was a dick who would never let him hear the end of it.

Sometimes, it was okay to lie to your children to protect your reputation.

True to Abaddon’s word, the party’s path soon opened up tremendously.

By Valerie’s estimate, the ceiling of this underground cavern was roughly 300 meters above their heads.

Now, the group was standing on a ledge overlooking the great chasm.

Great diamond spires like twisted needles hung from the ceiling, illuminating the cavern floor where a body of groundwater remained undisturbed.

Shin stepped off his hoverboard and began folding it up like an old tent. "Switch to the birds, men!"

"YES, DIRECTOR!"

The men followed Shin’s example and began stepping off their hoverboards. Instead, they pulled on strange metal backpacks that were honestly a bit tacky.

But once they were properly secured, a pair of metal wings burst out of the sides of the backpack, and a trio of thrusters opened up at the bottom.

Belloc’s eyes sparkled. "Jet packs…"

Erica stared at her son like he’d suddenly come down with a case of stupid. "Has it escaped your mind that you can already fly?"

"O-Of course not, but that is that and this is this."

"If you say so…" Erica would be lying if she said she understood everything that her son said sometimes, but at least he seemed to be impressed by something for a change.

Shin was revealed not to need a jet pack as he developed rocket thrusters from his back and on the bottoms of his feet.

With a single jump, he was rocketed into the air, and Belloc was once again thoroughly impressed.

"Cool."

Abaddon felt his brow twitch uncontrollably as he tried to remember exactly why he wanted kids in the first place. He couldn’t figure it out no matter how hard he tried.

’I should sell them all to the highest bidder… except Odessa. We can wait until she tells me no for the first time.’ Abaddon nodded.

He climbed off the back of the beast and wrapped his cloak around his body tightly walked towards the ledge.

Without bothering to stop, he jumped right off and plummeted towards the bottom.

"I was just making a joke, I didn’t think he’d kill himself." Belloc gasped.

Tatiana smacked her son over the head for his poor attempt at humor.

The cavern rumbled slightly as a large shadow dwarfed the family.

A large ten headed dragon that stood upright on two legs appeared before them.

The creature raised an armor-plated hand and held it out for the mounts to step aboard.

Audrina covered him in obscurity just to prevent any unfortunate instances of mind altering madness from occurring.

Once his family was secure and riding comfortably, Abaddon turned around and began walking after the members of the order.

Meanwhile, Behemoth was staring at the monster carrying her like he’d grown ten more heads.

Dragons and dinosaurs have a long history with one often being mistaken for the other, but Behemoth was certain that she’d never seen any dragon like Abaddon.

"He’s not scaring you, is he?"

Behemoth suddenly felt Thrudd give her a nudge of concern.

In all honesty, Abaddon was invoking a very specific curiosity within the dinosaur queen.

"Do you look like your father?" She pointed.

Thrudd seemed confused by the sudden line of questioning. "I didn’t get the whole multihead gene thing, but I do stand on two legs in my original body if that’s what you’re asking."

All of the royal Tathamet’s stand on two feet on account of the titain DNA in their systems. Well, all except Belloc that is. His body served a different purpose entirely.

Behemoth leaned forward and stared at Thrudd hard. "If I mate with you, can I have strong children who look like that?"

Thrudd’s face twitched.

She opened and closed her mouth several times as if she were looking for an answer, but her rational mind and her imagination were fighting against each other to decide who got the most processing power.

Her nose had even sprung a leak as a few dangerous images crashed into her mind.

"I-I-I… Wuh.." Thrudd fainted and buried her face into Behemoth’s breasts.

The dinosaur queen was just going to take that as a yes. But she did have more questions now.

She patted Thrudd between her legs and when she didn’t find what she was looking for, she furrowed her brows in confusion.

’How are we supposed to mate then..?’

It was at that moment that she remembered something that Zheng had said. If she had a question or anything that she needed to know, she could always ask her smartphone.

That was how Behemoth ended up jumping down a rabbit hole that she would never be able to pull herself out of.
