Chapter 879: 878 Mo General, have you regained your memory?

Chapter 879: 878 Mo General, have you regained your memory?

Cheng Jia nodded joyfully, “Chairman, I definitely won’t disappoint you.”

When she went upstairs just now, she had heard Ah Cheng say that Mo Jingteng had been angered into the hospital twice by Mo Xiuchen and, moreover, that Mo Jingteng could only spend the rest of his life bedridden because of the stroke, which made his speech slurred and unclear.

As she talked, beads of sweat dripped down her forehead.

She felt that Mo Jingteng was no longer capable of fighting against Mo Xiuchen and could only rely on her.

And she, just happened to be able to use Mo Jingteng’s power to remove Wen Ran, she pursed her lips and hesitated before saying, “Chairman, given your current situation, Mo Xiuchen probably won’t listen to you. May I make another suggestion?”

“What?”

Mo Jingteng’s gaze darkened, seemingly unsatisfied with her bargaining.

Cheng Jia didn’t care whether he was satisfied or not, taking this opportunity to say, “Chairman, I hope you can give me a portion of the Group’s shares. That way, even if Mo Xiuchen is unwilling to marry me, he will have to at that point.”

“Master, I think Miss Cheng’s proposal is feasible. Given the elder young master’s personality, even if you force him, he won’t compromise. If Miss Cheng becomes one of the shareholders of the MS Group, that will be an entirely different matter.”

The bodyguard spoke up for Cheng Jia, and although Mo Jingteng initially wanted to lash out, he held back after hearing the bodyguard’s words.

Suburban Villa

Wen Ran woke up, her eyes still closed, when the scent of flowers already wafted into her nostrils.

As she opened her eyes, the sight that greeted her was a face carved like a sculpture, with the man’s brows filled with a smile, and his eyes tender and deep as they gazed at her.

Seeing that she was awake, he lifted the corner of his mouth in a captivating curve, his deep and magnetic voice reaching her ears, “Ranran, good morning.”

“Good morning!”

Wen Ran’s brows blossomed with a bright smile, her gaze shifting from his face to the vase on the bedside table. Inside the vase, a bunch of freshly-picked flowers stood, which led her to tease, “Deflowering fiend.”

“Ranran, if I were a deflowering fiend, I would only pick you, my beauty,” Mo Xiuchen laughed while reaching out to pinch her cheek, and Wen Ran dodged with a laugh.

“Getting up?”

Mo Xiuchen’s long fingers brushed the hair from her cheek, his fingertips grazing her delicate skin.

Wen Ran nodded, “Of course, I’m getting up.”

“I’ll go find you some clothes,” Mo Xiuchen said with a smile, rising to search for clothes for her in the wardrobe.

Wen Ran glanced at her own nightgown, her gaze tenderly following Mo Xiuchen’s resolute figure as he entered the wardrobe. Moments later, he returned to the bedside with clothes he had picked out.

“You go downstairs and wait for me.”

Wen Ran took the clothes and spoke softly.

Mo Xiuchen’s eyes flickered, a trace of roguishness flashing through them, “Ranran, you don’t have to be shy. After all, I’ve seen everything that there is to see.”

“I’ll wait for you downstairs.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he succeeded in seeing Wen Ran’s face turn red instantly. Not waiting for her to scold him, he added another sentence and then turned to leave the master bedroom.

Downstairs, the newspaper had already been placed on the coffee table. Mo Xiuchen sat down in the leather sofa, his body lazily leaning into it, casually propping up his legs as he picked up the newspaper and started reading nonchalantly.

He had just finished reading today’s front-page headlines when his phone rang.

Mo Xiuchen pulled out his phone and furrowed his brows slightly when he saw the unfamiliar number on the caller ID, a trace of confusion flitting across the depths of his eyes, before he pressed the answer key. “Hello!”

“Hello, Mo General, I’m Li Yaqing, the chief editor of XX Weekly. I’d like to conduct an interview with Mo General…”

“Sorry, I do not accept any interviews.” Not waiting for the other party to finish, Mo Xiuchen dismissed the request with indifference, his handsome features turning slightly frosty. Li Yaqing?

That was Li Yunchang’s daughter, the woman who had wanted to see him last night but had turned and left upon meeting Mo Zixuan instead.

“Mo General…”

As the other party attempted to say more, Mo Xiuchen’s long fingers pressed down, and the call disconnected directly.

After a moment of contemplation, Mo Xiuchen set down the newspaper and dialed another number. As he waited for the call to be answered, his expression turned more stern.

“Hello!”

“Officer Lu, this is Mo Xiuchen.” This was the number that Wen Jin told him about a couple of days ago.

However, since Mo Xiuchen had changed his phone number, Lu Zhiyan was unaware that it was him. Hearing his voice, she was a bit surprised and also somewhat delighted, “Mo General, why is it you? What can I do for you?”

“I want to report Mo Jingteng. Come to MS Group with your people in a while, and I will give you all his evidence of guilt.”

Mo Xiuchen spoke calmly as if the one he was reporting was not his father but an insignificant person. Officer Lu, on the other line, was also shocked, “Mo General, have you regained your memory?”

She had heard from Wen Jin that Mo Xiuchen had lost his memory.

Now, hearing him talk about reporting Mo Jingteng and wanting to hand over all of Jingteng’s evidence, how could she not be surprised?

Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved in a light smile, and his gaze shifted towards the woman descending the staircase, his voice involuntarily softened, “I’ll hang up now. We can talk more when we meet later.”

Without caring whether Officer Lu had more to say, Mo Xiuchen ended the call right after he finished speaking. He stood up and walked towards the staircase.

“Ranran.”

He stood at the staircase on the first floor, his handsome face tilted slightly upward as he watched Wen Ran come down from above, his lips bearing an indulgent curve.

Wen Ran responded, meeting his gaze. A gentle smile appeared on her face as she placed her hand in his palm. Their fingers interlocked, and warmth threaded through their intertwined digits straight to their hearts.

Mo Xiuchen led Wen Ran by the hand into the dining room. Nanny Zhang swiftly served breakfast, and like the previous days of happiness, they ate quietly. Even without speaking, the air around them was tinged with a subtle flavor of bliss.

After breakfast, Mo Xiuchen drove Wen Ran to work. Sitting in the passenger seat, Wen Ran said with a giggly tone, “Xiuchen, there was a time when you used to drive me to the pharmaceutical factory every day before going back to the office for work.”

“Is that so?” Mo Xiuchen blinked blankly, regretfully, he couldn’t remember.

There must be so many beautiful memories between him and Ranran.

Wen Ran nodded lightly, and sensing his inner sense of loss, she spoke gently, “Xiuchen, you will surely get your memory back. I’ll tell you a little about our past every day, and maybe once you know enough, you’ll start to remember.”

A trace of a smile appeared on Mo Xiuchen’s lips, “Ranran, I will certainly try to remember everything as soon as possible.”

“There’s no need to rush.”

Wen Ran spoke soothingly, but Mo Xiuchen shook his head, his gaze tender and determined, “If those memories didn’t include you, it wouldn’t matter whether I remembered them or not. But the past I’ve forgotten holds many of our wonderful memories; I must reclaim them.”

“It’s alright. If you’ve forgotten, don’t I still remember?”

“How can it be that only you remember,” Mo Xiuchen didn’t like that feeling, every time Ranran spoke of their past, he felt like a mere audience, yet clearly, it was their shared experience.
