Sylas’ eyes shot open, his mind on the highest alert. But feeling a familiar presence keeping an eye out around him, he slowly calmed down.
The rest of what happened felt like a blur to him, and honestly, it was a bit crazy that he had trusted himself to sign a contract in that state in the first place. But it was necessary.
He had to apply the pressure right then and there. Allowing them time to think and consider things wouldn’t work. It would give them time to equivocate and make excuses. He didn’t have the time for that.
Now, though, the Golden Grove was under his control for at least the next ten years.
Unfortunately, that didn’t mean he would have free reign in Skai 11331 Galaxy for the same reason so many had been smited by the system’s eye in the first place. But Sylas had accomplished so much with the limited resources of Earth. How much would he accomplish now?
As for how Gralith would feel about Sylas using him like this… well, honestly speaking, Sylas never considered it. While he wasn’t a fan of relying on others, he also wasn’t a fool. There was a reason he had stayed with the Grimblades for so long, and there was a reason why he had chosen to join Legacy and was looking forward to stepping into the Beast Warlord Sanctum.
All the other details were meaningless to him right now. If Gralith was upset by it, then he would deal with that when the time came. But regardless, there would be no backtracking on the part of the Golden Grove.
Well, they could try to use their superior Wills against him, but they would quickly find out that that would be far more difficult than they thought.
Before he did all of this, there were three things he used Andromeda to check. The first was the Golden Grove Secret Realm information, the second was the Beast Warlord Sanctum’s location, and the third and final was related to Will and how it worked.
Surprisingly, there wasn’t much information about Will at all. In fact, they treated Forging Will like it was some holy grail of Wills, and didn’t even mention Forged Will… let alone Enlightening Will beyond that.
There might be a huge gap between the substance of their Wills because they were D and C Grades, while he was just an F Grade, but the idea of clearing away Sylas’ Will with ease was impossible, especially since the contracts were signed individually with each elder present.
Obviously, Sylas wouldn’t be foolish enough to pit his one Will up against all of theirs at the same time.
His Will also happened to have a very imposing and defiant character to it now after he had evolved it once again beneath the All-Seeing Eye’s Wrath.
There was another reason it would be quite difficult…

Unbeknownst to him, his Progenitor Flame Abilities had been upgraded once again. But every time it happened, Sylas found himself feeling a little lost.
Somehow, his Progenitor Flame Abilities, as useful as they were to him, still felt more like wells of potential than actual, tangible foundations of his power. It was like he was a toddler born to two Olympic athletes who couldn’t even walk just yet.
While part of the reason he wanted unlimited access to Andromeda was for the sake of its ability to allow him to absorb a large amount of information in a short time, the main reason was actually because he felt that understanding Andromeda and how it worked would be the secret to unlocking the true potential of these Progenitor Flame Abilities.
Sylas almost felt like the Grades of his Progenitor Flame Abilities were to its strength what his Will stat was to its strength. His Will stat was negligible in the face of his Will’s Title, and this upgrade to his Progenitor Flame Abilities almost felt hollow because…
He didn’t really know how to make use of them.
After Sylas arranged his thoughts, he finally looked around the room he was in.
It was very plush and almost a little too feminine, though there weren’t obvious standouts as to why. It was mostly just the lack of dark colors, the copious amount of pillows, and the lavender scent hanging in the air.
To the side, a familiar old man stood ramrod straight, looking ahead even when he felt Sylas’ gaze on him.
Old Brama.
Obviously, this wasn’t the gaze that had made Sylas feel at ease—that had been Gogo’s, who was still watching from inside his Hibernation Realm. But the presence of the old man was interesting nonetheless.
Sylas slowly pushed himself off of the plush bed, the translucent, silky sheets hanging from the canopy above splitting for him.
He found that his body was both clean and stocked up on nutrients even though he couldn’t remember having ever eaten anything. It must have been something that the old man did for him. Or maybe it was his granddaughter since Sylas was fairly sure that this was Megean’s room.
The last thing Sylas did remember was signing Old Brama to a personal contract, one that ensured the old man would be working for him for the next 10 years as well.
In return? He wouldn’t bother his granddaughter.
It was a clause Sylas found ridiculous. He had a C Grade at his beck and call, and all he had to do was ignore a woman he was planning on ignoring anyway.
But what he wanted Old Brama for wasn’t his strength. That couldn’t be used where Sylas needed it the most right now anyway.
What he wanted existed between Old Brama’s ears.
