Chapter 833: Arcane Telekinesis (2) [Top Five Golden Tickets Bonus]

Sylas mulled over several things in his mind before he eventually landed back on that statue they faced off against before entering the Split Realm.

He could remember that it was impossible to move there until he managed to find a way to combine his Aether and Telekinesis. But back then… he hadn’t really understood it.

Since then, he had had no need to use such an ability because it didn’t seem like it had much use. It didn’t increase the weight of his telekinesis at all, though now that he thought about it, it did make controlling his Aether itself quite easy.

But the advantages he gained in control could be easily matched by raising his Mastery as well.

Now, however, he was wondering if he had missed something quite big.

Was that the secret to the true power of Comprehensions? A mixture of Comprehension, Aether, and telekinesis?

The thoughts continuously whirled in Sylas’ mind as he continued to stare down the characters.

Suddenly, he closed his eyes. Or, rather, figuratively did so, as they already were.

He pulled himself out of that state, his head pulsing with a bit of pain. He had been in his slow perception state for too long, tagging onto that that he was using it to observe something so complex, and he was bound not to last very long.

With this new Time-related Progenitor Flame Ability of his, Sylas had realized that analyzing, studying, and understanding Runes had become far easier. It was actually because of this that his Scorpion Warlord Armor had taken a sudden step forward, reaching Soul Mastery, 60% perfection, and granting him +3000 Physical.

However, it was also quite taxing. Though, shockingly effective.

After all, he only needed to observe his Scorpion Warlord Armor a single time — the very moment he summoned it against Lorien.

Still, Sylas knew that that was mostly a coincidence. The unique circumstances had allowed the sudden breakthrough, which was why he hadn’t tried to do it again.

But these thoughts were further confirmed while observing [Arcane Telekinesis]. It seemed that this Time Ability would be even more useful than he originally assumed.

Still, none of that changed the basic fact…

His telekinesis still wasn’t strong enough — not enough to even begin to touch this third layer. Although he could see it, sense it, comprehend it, he couldn’t even begin to use it.

And something told him that even if his telekinesis was ten times more powerful and could exert the same Physical on 10,000 pounds, it still wouldn’t be enough.

It also made him realize just how weak his telekinesis was in the opinion of Arcane Madness. Or, rather, the standards of a Madness Disciple.

From what he could tell, he shouldn’t even be able to see the full extent of the first layer until his telekinesis could exhibit 10,000 pounds of force, and that was just the bare minimum, certainly not including what would be needed for the second layer and beyond. R̃ÁℕőBΕṢ

This sounded like a shocking number, but when Sylas thought about it… it only made sense.

His strength was already such that he could lift 10,000 pounds above his head with a single arm — he had accomplished as much in the previous battle.

It took 1,000 pounds to crush a normal human skull — of course, not including what Physical stat was backing it — let alone a human skull amped by substantial Constitution.

These numbers sounded amazing, and it was intoxicating to be able to soar through the skies, but if not for his Madness Comprehension, it would actually be more efficient for Sylas to run on the ground.

In addition, because his telekinesis could only exhibit 1,000 pounds of resistance, he was often limiting his own power by fighting in the skies as well.

His telekinesis simply couldn’t anchor him as well as a planted foot into solid ground could.

The people around him were only growing more powerful, and the more he thought about it, the more Sylas realized that as impressive as 1,000 pounds sounded, especially when backed by thousands of Physical stat points…

It was middling compared to the wider world.

And none of that even considered when it would be useless against those with powerful Wills.

That said… his telekinesis had one especially powerful application…

And that was when it was applied directly to his body. It could effectively take him from a man who weighed 240 or so pounds now, to a man weighing almost 1,250 pounds.

That sort of change… that was truly substantial.

That is the path [Arcane Telekinesis] wants to lead me down… the true power of telekinesis isn’t in controlling external objects, but using it as a method of shoring up the weaknesses of your own body…

When Sylas understood this, he ignored the second and third layers. He knew he wasn’t ready for them.

He gave his everything to the first, and once his mind recovered, his progress became blinding.

Indeed, there had been several things in the first layer that he had missed. He was finally beginning to fill in the gaps of understanding he had in telekinesis.

If there was a weight limit, why could he split his telekinesis? And if he could split his telekinesis, why couldn’t he fuse them into one to exhibit more pounds of force?

And why was pounds of force such an important metric? What was the dividing line between it and Physical? If telekinesis could exhibit a million kilograms of force, but only 20 Physical stat points, what sort of power was that? Could the two even be so far apart in the first place?

Questions Sylas had had in his mind for a long while, and many more he had never thought of, were finding themselves quickly answered.

As he did so, his Charisma became sharper, more potent, undergoing odd changes.

Until now, only his Will had evolved, but it only made sense that as his telekinesis became more potent, the stat that decided how well his Will influenced the world was undergoing its own changes…

On the second day, Sylas’ eyes snapped open, only to quickly turn his attention back to the Madness Key.

He took a nap, and then he entered the Scorpion Warlord Secret Realm for the first time in a while.

He didn’t want to just yet, feeling that it was still too early. But if he was going to give himself the best chance, he had no choice.
