MatchaMaker:

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe that I’m writing this, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. I still remember feeling nervous about translating a novel for the first time and writing my introduction before GOB was live on the WW website. It still feels like yesterday!

I wanted to thank the GOB team—Yojj (our online mom and my mentor), and Invictum (our amazing editor who waved his magic wand to make even the most confusing sentence make sense).

I also want to give special thanks to InYourGalaxy and Rubrub, who have been tremendously helpful in getting this far. Being the sole translator of this long novel once felt daunting, but they swooped in and helped translate GOB in ways that I can’t.

Lastly, I wanted to thank our readers. Thank you so much.

Thank you for taking the time to read our translation. Even if you haven’t read all the chapters or haven’t commented, know that I appreciate everyone taking the time to read GOB. I also sincerely enjoyed your comments and will miss reading them under every chapter. They kept me motivated and reminded me that people were enjoying what I translated.

There are also some regulars that stayed with us from the beginning until now. I’m so so thankful that you guys stayed with us for so long. It’s been an honor to have such faithful readers!

P.S. Special thanks to Retired Penguin for helping us with the fight scenes and the unexpected Japanese and French XD

Rubrub:

Hello there! Translating this novel with my team was a truly delightful journey, especially with the incredible support of our editor, Invictum, and my dearest manager, Yojj.

My Thoughts on the Novel: I found the characters who risk their lives for values like “love for their country” to be incredibly compelling and admirable. Much respect for everyone who serves their country!

In the story, all the soldiers dream of living a normal, peaceful life, which made me reflect on how grateful I am for the peaceful life I enjoy now.

For those who, like me, were curious about how the novel ends, I couldn’t resist sneaking a peek. Thankfully, I discovered that Kang Chan, Gérard, and Seok Kang-Ho are still alive (Thank God!).

Invictum:

It seems our neck-twisting, rock-fighting, coffee-sipping journey has come to an end!

As the first novel I edited for WuxiaWorld, God of Blackfield will always have a special spot in my heart. To me, it was more than just a project. It threw challenges at me that allowed me to showcase my skills, and it gave me all the opportunities I needed to grow and improve. Without God of Blackfield, I wouldn’t have the solid foundation I have now.

To our amazing translators, MatchaMaker, RubRub, and InYourGalaxy, thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin. Your crystal-clear translations made it easier for me to understand and enhance the quality of the chapters.

I also have to thank my mentor and manager Retired Penguin. He showed me that what I knew about our craft and the English language was just the tip of the iceberg. His teachings shaped and sharpened the editor I am today.

Yojj, Ms. Novel Manager, you are the real MVP of this novel. You stuck with us from the very beginning up to this moment, guiding us through even the harshest storms, the toughest burnouts, the largest obstacles, and the darkest of times. No words will ever be enough to express how thankful I am for all that you’ve done for us.

Finally, I gotta thank you, our readers, for conquering the world of intelligence and staying on the frontlines with us. I hope you had fun following Kang Chan and Dayeru’s journey through every cafe, office, wilderness, and battlefield. Remember: this is only Point Alpha. We’ll see each other soon enough at Point Bravo!

Until then, keep smirking!
