The territory of nobles is their second foundation. Their first foundation is their family. The lamp bearers didn’t interfere with the first foundation more than the reduction in the resources of nobles, which reduced how large their families could become.

The lamp bearers took 50% of the energy supply of the nobles and prevented the nobles from taking energy water from villages. This affected the nobles indirectly by reducing the size of their families and the influence of their first foundation.

The established hierarchy that the nobles relied on was the liege system. But the liege system was crippled when the lamp bearers banned wars of conquest.

All in all, the nobles have too many reasons to fight the lamp bearers. The lamp bearers not only enforce their own justice, but they also undermine the power of the nobles literally and practically. So the two sides can never reconcile.

Now that the lamp bearers are about to be evicted from the entire kingdom, it means that Bushwick finally has a chance of advancing to rank 5. This is something that he is willing to give up a lot of energy and water for.

But now that he can give out energy water to his superior in the liege system and still be richer than he was before, how can he not be happy?
