“Why did you two leave the house!?” On the other side, Madam Kong was hugging her two daughters and crying with relief. “Why did you two run out? Do you know how worried I was?”

She did not sleep a wink last night or this afternoon, she had been looking around the city with Yu Dong.

With her imagination running wild, she also imagined her daughters getting sold to some rich women who they had to work until they could no longer stand on their feet.

The more she thought about it, the more worried she became thinking that her daughters would be forced to do things that they did not want to, and with Kong Li being such a troublemaker she would certainly be punished severely.

What would happen if they were to get sold?

These words of Madam Kong reminded Kong Li of the anger that she had been suppressing for the entire day.

So she naturally began to complain in a loud voice, “It’s not our fault! It’s Daddy’s! Mother, please teach Daddy not to hand everything to aunties. Just the day before yesterday, he handed all the meat that you brought to make up our bodies to the second aunt.”

“He even threatened us that we should not tell you anything! He told us that he would beat us to death if we told you that he had given our meat to aunties. We could only listen to his words, but who would have thought that Aunty would take away even the eggs and milk that you brought?”

“We only got bland noodles for lunch! Brother Mai saw us eating bland noodles and was kind enough to give us some meat sauce. It was really delicious, we were afraid that Daddy would take that away as well, so we hid it in our room.”

“But!” Kong Li cried out in anger. “But Daddy actually went ahead and stole that sauce from our room! He actually rummaged in our room to give something to Auntie! Is it not bad enough that she had taken away more than six or seven catties of meat just a day before? Why did she take away even the meat sauce?’

“She also takes our candies, toys and milk! I was so angry that I was not thinking but Mom! Why should we eat dry buns when our aunties and cousins eat the meat that belongs to us?”

“Daddy says that we should be filial to aunties but —our cousins have never been filial to you!”

Madam Kong had raised her voice to scare her daughter but she never expected that she would hear such shocking words.

She only wanted to teach a good lesson to her daughters such that they would never run around, who would have expected that there was such a story behind this matter?

Madam Kong turned to look at her eldest daughter and asked, “Is what she saying correct?”

“Yes,” Kong Pili had enough of her father and his wilful actions. She could see that he was not going to change. No matter what they did, he would only do what he wanted.

Then he might as well deal with Mother’s wrath!

At least that way he would know that there were consequences of his actions. Did he think that he could do anything that he wanted without worrying about the outcome of his decisions? Then he was wrong!

Once Kong Pili agreed, Madam Kong didn’t need to ask anything anymore. Her face turned blue with anger as she questioned, “Did your daddy actually say that he would beat you up if you were to tell me the truth? Even when I asked him to not give anything to his sisters, he refused to listen to me?”

Kong Li complained angrily, “Yes! He not only threatened us, he even beat us to make us terrified of him. My auntie came two days ago, she said to my daddy that she wanted to eat meat and as they had no money they could not buy any. So she asked him to give it to her.”

“So my daddy gave her the meat. At first, he only gave three catties of meat and left two for us but then Auntie said that it was not enough.”

“Their family was big and could not make do with it. Mother, even if their family is big, what does that have to do with us? We are not responsible for raising their big family! So why does Daddy give her everything? Do we not have the right to eat meat?”

“Who the hell said that?” Madam Kong was so angry that she wanted to drag Master Xiao and beat him until he would forget about his family. “How dare he! How dare he starve my daughters and feed his maternal family! Damn that mer—”

She was going to teach him a good lesson upon her return!
