Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage
Chapter 1094: The Sword of Death1094 Chapter 1094: The Sword of Death
Karyk followed the group back to the city that had been established in the outer realm. Along the way, he was lost in thought, trying to come up with ways to resist the reversal of time.
It was a complicated problem, which only seemed to have one solution. He needed to give the young lord of time instant death. With that, he had no time to use his abilities.
He had made up his mind. He was going to use the sword that he had retrieved from the domain of gods before. Even he had only touched that sword once, dying instantly.
If he didn't have control of death, he would have long disappeared from this world thanks to that sword.
"If he is so dangerous, is it fine to let him follow us? If he finds the city and leads the Aetherians to the city, would we still be fine?" someone amidst the group asked.
"Didn't you notice the blood on his clothes?" The time lord responded. "Do you really think he hadn't been to that city yet? You are really naive."
The time lord already knew that Karyk was returning from the city when he came across his followers. In his eyes, the people of the city were already dead.
Even as the young lord of time, he couldn't know that Karyk hadn't killed all of them. He was still planning to use most of them as pawns, only holding them as prisoners in his inner realm.
"He can't kill me, but I can't kill him either. So just let him do as he pleases. He won't be able to change anything. If he wants to experience the next day, he can't afford to have me hurt. If anything, I might be able to use him instead."The young lord understood that Karyk wasn't planning to kill them. The unending cycle had almost been broken. He had convinced the monstrous man.
At this point, he was already thinking about ways he could use Karyk to find Aether. As Karyk couldn't let him be hurt to prevent a time reversal, he had to protect him.
With Karyk's help, he might even be able to go to the depths of the land that he had never experienced before.
"I am really looking forward to it. After I find Aether and control it, I won't have to worry about anything else."
With Aether, he could finally control Karyk and the other Aetherians. It was the most important thing for him, even more than the lives of everyone else.
After traversing through the endless outer realm, the group reached the city which had already lost the invisibility. Looking at the sight, the rest of the group finally started believing the time lord's words. Karyk had actually been here before.
The city that normally looked like it was full of life, was completely desolate. There was not even a single person in sight. They couldn't even feel the scent of blood, as if the entire city had been cleansed.
There was no damage to the city, which was the most surprising part for them. Everyone who lived in this city, were the strong descendants of the major clans. If they had managed to survive in this land for so long, it meant they were far from weak.
Despite that, they were all killed and the city looked untouched. Just how strong was Karyk to achieve something like that? The more they thought about it, the more incredible he appeared in their eyes. Even the time lord had to be careful in his presence.
"If you want to rest, you can take any of the residence here. They are all vacant, I suppose." The time lord suggested to Karyk, who ignored his words.
He wasn't here for a vacation. He knew that he had to use a trap to kill the young time lord, and that sword was the trap. He had to somehow make that man touch the sword.
'If I hide that sword somewhere, and somehow lead him into discovering that sword, will he fall for it?' Karyk thought, quickly shaking his head.
If the young lord didn't directly touch the sword, it was useless. Moreover, with the kind of dangerous presence that the sword carried, only a fool could touch it.
It was much harder to have the time lord hold the sword.
'It would have been so much better if I could control the sword.'
After thinking about it for some time, he came to a sudden halt. He started frowning, as if thinking of something.
It had been a long time since he tried to communicate with the sword, but hadn't he gotten stronger? If he could at least survive for a few seconds while holding that sword, was it possible to communicate with it? he wondered.
The first time he had seen the sword, he did hear some voices that were coming from within. The voices were too overwhelming, even for him. He had no choice but to seal the sword away from him.
He was much stronger than that time. He had even awakened his memories, and shared a connection with the abyss where the sword was discovered originally.
Wasn't it possible to try it again? He thought. The realization itself made him eager to try it.
He stopped following the time lord, only leaving a shadow to keep track of him. Personally, he left the city in haste, disappearing in the distance.
"Where is he going? Is he giving up?" The time lord watched Karyk leave, but he didn't follow after him. He was sure that they were going to meet again.
He had his own problems to solve after all, especially with the giant angel's body that he had left outside the city.
He entered the largest building in the center of the city to freshen up, telling the others to keep an eye on the Angel corpse outside.
He reached his room, and found the door open. He didn't think much about it, believing that Karyk had probably checked all the rooms for survivors when he was killing them.
He opened the door and entered the room.
Thud~
The moment he took a step inside the room, he heard the sound of something falling to the ground.
