He wasn’t just standing in some random world. He was in his own world — a space entirely separate from the outer world, a world made of his own sea of consciousness.

And even within that world, he had created an entire universe, one formed by the eternal clash of his creation energy and death energy.

To find anything that even stood in front of his will was already a stretch. But to find this — something capable of disturbing his core? Impossible.

And not out there… not in some other world… but here, inside my own domain?

It was too much.

Too overwhelming.

So overwhelming that Julian instinctively stopped his thoughts — not because he didn’t want to know…but because he couldn’t afford to.

There was only one explanation.

And Julian was afraid to accept it.

Did the Supreme Being of Death… infiltrate here?

Another chill crept down his spine, colder than anything he had ever faced before.

He shook his head sharply, forcing the thought away.

That’s not important, he told himself. First… I must get my hands on this.

His previously carefree demeanor — the calm, uninterested and lazy expression was gone, replaced now by urgency.

He leaned forward slightly, still suppressing the death energy.

Down below,

Fi Feng gestured grandly toward the tray.”And this,” he said with an overly cheerful tone,”is a pendant!”

There was a pause.

Then murmurs of disappointment.

“Just a pendant?” one voice whispered.

“That’s it?”

Someone else scoffed, “What do you mean ‘is a pendant’?!”

A louder voice surged through the crowd, filled with anger.”Fuck is this shit?! Wasting our time with junk!”

Laughter, and curses followed.

Fi Feng, ever the performer, laughed along with them.”Dear bidders, dear bidders, don’t lose heart so soon! This is merely a small checkpoint before the heavier treasures arrive!”

But even as he tried to please the crowd with charm, some voices didn’t give up.

“What checkpoint?!” someone snapped.”That’s not even a good accessory!”

Another voice called, “Just toss it down here, we’ll sell it for scrap!”

Fi Feng’s eyes narrowed slightly, and this time, his tone turned serious.

“The starting price,” he said clearly, cutting through the noise,”is ten mid-grade spiritual stones.”

The room quieted for a moment.

And then—

“Ten mid-grade?!”

“Are they serious?”

“What a scam!”

“They’re not even trying to hide it anymore!”

Suspicion, anger, and mockery filled the room.

But before the situation could escalate—

A calm voice echoed from the crowd below.

“Fifty mid-grade spiritual stones.”

Silence.

It came from the same young disciple who had dominated every bid before.

The moment the number left his lips, the entire hall hushed.

Some cultivators shifted uncomfortably in their seats.

“Fifty?””For that pendant…?””Is he mad, or does he know something we don’t?”

Confusion spread fast.

And then it got worse.

A second voice rang out. From above.

“One hundred mid-grade spiritual stones.”

The tone alone was enough to chill the room.Because everyone knew where it came from.

The Sapphire Lobby.

Gasps filled the hall.

“What?! Even the VIP joined in?”

“That’s the same person Fi Feng bowed to earlier!”

“Why the hell are two monsters bidding on a pendant that looks like junk?!”

A storm of murmurs followed, voices rising in pitch and shock.

“Wait—what is this treasure, really?”

“Could it be sealed?”

“A cursed item?”

“No… it must be something deeper… something hidden.”

The hall, once filled with hate for the simple pendant, now buzzed with a different energy.

The common cultivators didn’t dare move. The rich ones hesitated. The smart ones realized: they didn’t understand anything about what was happening.

**

Meanwhile,

Julian’s gaze slowly drifted from the pendant to the disguised Sect Leader, his head tilting slightly. His expression shifted from tension to curiosity.

He couldn’t tell.

Is she truly capable of sensing the death energy within it…? Or is she just bidding blind — caught in the heat of competition?

She gave nothing away. Her face was calm, focused as if she was waiting for this moment.

Then her voice rang out again:

“One thousand mid-grade spiritual stones.”

Gasps erupted instantly from every corner of the auction hall.

“What?!”

“One thousand?!”

“He has gone mad—”

“No, no one throws away that kind of wealth unless they’re certain. What the hell is that pendant?!”

Even Fi Feng’s eyebrows twitched slightly before he forced a grin, hiding his shock.

But above them all, Julian… chuckled.

How cute.

He slowly raised one hand, eyes still on the “young master” below.

“One thousand high-grade spiritual crystals.”

Time stopped.

The auction hall went silent.

Truly silent.

Even the sound of breathing seemed to vanish.

Not stones.

Crystals.

Not one thousand mid-grade stones — but one thousand high-grade crystals.

The kind that could fund a city for a decade.

The kind no sane person would throw away for a “simple” pendant.

“Did… did he say crystals?” someone whispered.

“High-grade…?”

“I-I don’t even know how much that’s worth…”

Fi Feng stared up at the Sapphire Lobby, his body tense, sweat trickling down his brow.He quickly cleared his throat, trying to recover his composure.

“One… one thousand high-grade crystals offered by our honored VIP!” he declared.

But no one clapped.

They couldn’t.

Because every single person now had the same terrifying thought in their heads:

What in heaven’s name is that pendant… and who the hell is this VIP?!

Meanwhile, even the disguised Sect Leader couldn’t hide her shock.

Her eyes widened slightly as she looked up at the Sapphire Lobby, where Julian sat in silence — a faint smirk curling at the corner of his lips.

Her hands clenched tightly.

She knew who the VIP was. Luoshi had brought him in — that strange monk with an odd charm and eerie calmness. She had suspected he was powerful… but this level of wealth?

Even for her, it was shocking.

Just who is this monk…?

Anger raged in her chest. But beneath it, a sharp stab of shame.

She was the Sect Leader of the Heavenly Moon Sect.

One of the Ten Great Sects.

A Saint.

She had cultivated for centuries. Commanded armies. Conquered forbidden realms.

And yet, here she was — being overwhelmed by a smiling monk who hadn’t even stood up from his chair.
