In a forest somewhere, a bald, muscular man with three eyes on his forehead was desperately fleeing for his life.
Leaning forward, his feet barely touched the ground as he swiftly dodged the oncoming trees, as if an invisible rope was dragging him silently at high speed.
Suddenly, a mass of cloud-like substance resembling thick blood plasma descended from the sky, blocking his path.
The three-eyed man’s face changed drastically, his body went from speeding through the air to an abrupt halt, and with the swiftness of lightning, he turned sharply and fled in the opposite direction. While flying, he looked back at the blood mass.
Seeing that the blood mass remained stationary in the distance, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. But just as he looked ahead to navigate his path, a wide expanse of a blood-colored water screen suddenly materialized before him.
His hand shot out instinctively to block, easily piercing through the fragile water screen. But as soon as he passed through, his once full and muscular arm shriveled drastically, turning as dry and brittle as deadwood in the blink of an eye.
Just as he was about to adjust his posture to retreat, the blood-colored water screen suddenly surged forward rapidly, like a fishing net blocking a river, it enshrouded him in an instant.
With a soft ’pfft’ sound, the three-eyed man charged through the water screen. While still mid-air, his nearly three-meter-tall and robust body shrunk instantly, his pale skin decaying at a visible rate, akin to a millennium-old corpse, and upon hitting the ground, his body shattered into pieces with a thud.
The blood-colored water screen contracted and gathered, forming a three-meter-diameter droplet-shaped blood mass that, accompanied by a delighted cheer, pulled a trail of blood light and soared high into the sky.
In the entire forest, similar scenes played out repeatedly.
The numerous Blood God’s Children, like blood-colored locusts, took flight, and one by one, the Three-Eyed Nether Clan members turned into bone fragments and dust.
Above in the sky, the churning blood mingled and rushed, as if a long river was tumbling backward.
Lan Zhang had his hands folded behind his head, lying lazily on the clouds, his face bathed in the bloody afternoon sun, indescribably comfortable and leisurely.
A pitch-black shadow with a continuously changing shape suddenly appeared beside him, its surface dotted with countless revolving large eyes.
"That Jian Chan is indeed ruthless and scheming," Wu Mu’s childlike voice emerged, echoing upon itself, "He actually had the heart to blow up eleven Ghost Gates?"
"The Three-Eyed Nether Clan had just broken through the outer defenses when the Ghost Gates exploded one after another, almost sixty percent of their fighting force perished on the spot."
"And the remaining defeated soldiers were dragged into the Ghost Gates by the twelve Soul Summoning Banners."
"This group of Three-Eyed Nether Clan is thoroughly doomed."
"Such a heavy hand?" Lan Zhang raised his eyebrows, slowly getting up, "It seems the lord of Antiquity City really wants me dead."
"Are you saying this elaborate trap was originally set to kill you?" Wu Mu’s eyes widened, "Wasn’t the cooperation going quite well before?"
"Just because you sent some Blood God’s Children into his camp?"
"Your Antiquity City lord is indeed petty."
Lan Zhang chuckled lightly, "Without his vengeful nature, I wouldn’t have been able to scheme against the Three Yin Nether Clan and reap these benefits as an outsider."
A look of anticipation flashed in his eyes, "Let’s go, it’s time to check out my spoils of war."
Merely by devouring a small portion of the Three-Eyed Nether Clan, the power of the Blood Cloud had already doubled. Once he absorbed the elite of the Three-Eyed Nether Clan, his strength would rise even further.
By that time, with the Blood Cloud shrouding the sky, he would be strong enough to counter most dangers, allowing him to roam freely in the Nether Demon Heaven.
Even someone as calm as Lan Zhang couldn’t stop a shiver of excitement at the thought.
Taking a deep breath to suppress any superfluous emotions, Lan Zhang waved his hand grandly, and the vast Blood Cloud roiled and surged, suddenly transforming into a streak of blood-colored shadow and vanishing in an instant.
As the Blood Cloud disappeared, a large empty space remained, accompanied by a thunderous rumbling sound, the surrounding air collapsed rapidly, and a fierce wind spread everywhere.
...
In the Main Camp of Antiquity City.
Within a circular area centered around the Ghost Gates, the forests and hills had been completely destroyed and flattened, with the corpses of the Three-Eyed People strewn throughout.
From the sky above, the eleven Ghost Gates formed a circle that looked like a strand of bracelet made up of blood, fire, and bodies, unspeakably horrifying.
At this moment, the gates of Thousand Lanterns City were opened to their widest, resembling a curtain half the size of a football field stretched across the sky.
Billowing black smoke poured down from the curtain and, upon reaching the ground, rolled forward like raging waves. As it passed, limbs and body parts were swept up in the smoke, reeled back up into the sky and into the curtain, vanishing from sight.
Under Chen Mu’s command, this curtain, much like a robotic vacuum cleaner, circled the Ghost Gates meticulously, cleaning up the vicinity thoroughly.
The Three-Eyed People had pale faces without hair and pitch-black eyes; nearly three meters tall with coiled muscles, they resembled humans but were not.
Chen Mu used their bodies to fill the Bottomless Pool, feeling only a fleeting pang of guilt before he was left without any burden.
These were not some insignificant creatures he had captured before, and the sheer number of corpses was sufficient for him to activate the Ghost Gates to leave Nether Demon Heaven.
Although he knew it wasn’t quite right, Chen Mu couldn’t help but reveal a smiling face as he stood atop the ninth shattered Ghost Gate, surveying the battlefield he was about to leave spotless.
"Although I missed the Main Camp’s easy ride this time, I unexpectedly found a refueling station for my own Ghost Gates; this trip was not in vain, not in vain at all! Haha!"
As he merrily operated the Thousand Lanterns City brand vacuum, the sky suddenly darkened.
Then, with a thunderous boom and a powerful gust, a lake-size expanse of blood-red water suddenly appeared, blocking out the sky.
Chen Mu suddenly looked up and saw a pair of narrow eyes emitting a bloody light. His whole body felt as though he’d fallen into an ice hole, shivering all over, trembling with fear and trepidation!
Again, the Blood God Scripture?!
Why are these bastards everywhere!
He immediately gathered all the Yin Spirits into Thousand Lanterns City and turned to burrow underground.
But a cold gaze swept over him, and the air around him instantly turned into sticky glue, fixing him in place, unable to move.
Chen Mu’s face involuntarily underwent a drastic change.
...
When Lan Zhang appeared suddenly with a blood-colored Escape Light.
The first thing he saw was a battlefield cleaner than a face, and the second was some grinning idiotic bastard.
His body stiffened, and his blood-colored pupils uncontrollably dilated, feeling a buzz in his head.
The spoils of war have been stolen?
The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind, had he become that mantis?!
Damn it!
He raised his hand and swung down hard.
Boom!
A blood-colored palm suddenly flew out from the towering Blood Cloud, slapping fiercely towards Chen Mu, as if swatting a mosquito.
That bloodied hand was massive as a mountain, yet its speed was not the slightest bit slow. One moment it loomed among the clouds, the next it spanned hundreds of meters of distance and appeared right above Chen Mu.
Chen Mu’s pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints, almost instinctively he cast the Mountain-Carrying Scripture of a Thousand Ghosts, completely draining all of the Yin Spirit Divine Power within Thousand Lanterns City in an instant.
Qi Forbidden Hundred Miles!
Invisible Exotic Force rapidly spun, layered upon itself, and suddenly transformed into layers of sharp cones covering the space above his head, like a giant bamboo shoot growing rapidly, shooting straight into the sky.
Chen Mu’s expression was cold as he stared fixedly at the bloodied hand turned mountain.
Kui Water Yin Thunder!
Jade Seed Inner Magical Power was completely drained in an instant, and lightning that blazed white and blue suddenly emerged, instantly filling the gaps within the bamboo shoot-like Qi Forbidden Power. Continue your saga on
In the next moment, the blood-colored palm collided with the thunderous bamboo shoot.
Bang!
The air boomed explosively, a circle of invisible Vigorous Qi suddenly spread from the point of contact, and the bright white thunder on the tip of the bamboo shoot instantly dimmed.
Agonizing pain assaulted him, Chen Mu’s eyes darkened, feeling as though his head had been struck hard by a hammer.
Finished!
...
In the sky, feeling the firm resistance against his palm, Lan Zhang’s narrow eyes shot forth a piercing gaze, his right hand pressing down ever so slightly.
The blood-colored giant hand that had just begun to slow its descent now continued its relentless downward pressure.
The layers of defense constructed by Qi Forbidden Power, resembling real bamboo shoots, were easily shattered segment by segment by the blood hand, instantly reduced to fragments.
Boom!
Like a ball exploding upon being smacked, a turbulent wave of Qi burst out from beneath the blood-colored palm, spreading out in all directions.
The scattered corpses of the Three-Eyed Nether Clan were lifted up, tumbling and scattering about like ragdolls.
In the next second, the blood hand suddenly turned into light and shadow and vanished. A gigantic handprint several stories deep appeared on the ground; the once half-remaining Ghost Gate was utterly pulverized to dust, and Chen Mu’s figure had vanished.
"He ran away?" Wu Mu’s figure appeared beside Lan Zhang: "Seems like some kind of Heaven-Encapsulating Dharma."
"And this person, he looks a bit familiar."
"This man was once an auxiliary soldier under the Banner of Hai," Lan Zhang said coldly, "His Divine Power is mixed, and Shen Yan’s aura is also mingled within. It seems that it was this man who rescued Shen Yan in the end."
"Another Mountain-Carrying Scripture?" Wu Mu’s eyes widened.
"So you’re saying that after half a year of plotting, an auxiliary soldier plucked the fruit of your labor? Haha!"
"And the method he used was still the Mountain-Carrying Scripture you discarded?"
"All the schemes you’ve devised, and you never considered an auxiliary soldier, this is too hilarious, hahaha..." Wu Mu laughed, trembling.
Lan Zhang suddenly turned his head, staring at Wu Mu, whose countless eyes were tearfully laughing, his face ashen.
