I have Immortality In The Cultivation World

Chapter 431: The Return of the Monkey King

In the distant horizon, the deep, vast sea stretched endlessly.

The Monkey King sat cross-legged on the back of a small whale, with two giant whales guarding him on both sides, as they followed the guidance and headed eastward.

The two giant whales were of an unusual breed, not needing to avoid storms, their bodies covered in rippling azure patterns, and the raging waves immediately subdued at their presence.

“What a spell, what divine skills!”

The Monkey King applauded in admiration, watching the whales cast their spells without blinking an eye.

Feeling the Monkey King’s intentions, the giant whales didn’t stop casting spells, ready to deploy the rippling spell at any moment.

For the first few days, the Monkey King gained nothing, but after observing for a month, he vaguely discerned the profound mysteries of the ripples and tried to manipulate the Water Spirit Qi between heaven and earth. Unfortunately, he lacked mana, and his thousands of attempts were all in vain.

“How can this be?”

The Monkey King scratched his head in frustration and, after careful consideration, tried to mimic the ripple spell by controlling the flow of his Qi-Blood.

The Qi-Blood reversed, and his heart exploded with a thud.

His innate ability to not die came into play, bringing the Monkey King back from death. He revised the method he had just employed, carefully avoiding the heart, but ended up experiencing the taste of all his veins breaking.

Several consecutive failures only incited the Monkey King’s stubborn temper, as he lay on the small whale’s back, mimicking the spell.

Death to life, life to death, with each failure, he made minor adjustments. After many attempts, the method was vastly different from the beginning.

Trimming the excessive details, only the essential mysteries remained.

On this day.

The Monkey King circulated the Qi-Blood within his body, flowing through his meridians, and eventually breaking out of his body to form a thin red membrane on the surface.

“Success, I’ve finally done it!”

The Monkey King jumped and hopped around, cheering ecstatically, and it was quite some time before he calmed down.

“Without a master’s guidance, it took me half a year just to learn an ordinary spell; when will I be able to comprehend the path to everlasting immortality?”

If any cultivator heard these words, they might be so shocked that their cultivation foundation could shatter. A demon monkey, who had not even cultivated mana, had learned to substitute Qi-Blood for mana within half a year, a feat countless times harder than simply practicing spells.

The principle contained within was akin to the multitude of generations from the human race perfecting the martial art of Qi-Blood over hundreds of years, the crystallization of their wisdom. ṙÃɴỔʙËS

Woohoo…

Feeling the Monkey King’s mood, the small whale let out a cheerful cry as if to celebrate.

The Monkey King said, “Once we reach the Immortal Island, let’s all become disciples of the Immortal and seek the method of everlasting immortality. Once our cultivation realm is high enough, we can transform into human forms, and I’ll take you to Monkey Mountain to be the second king!”

The small whale didn’t understand what being the second king meant, but happily wagged its tail, inadvertently tossing the Monkey King out.

The giant whale was always watching over the child, stretching its tail out of the water to catch the Monkey King safely.

“Thank you, Senior Whale,” the Monkey King said, after climbing onto the giant whale’s back, he shaded his eyes and looked off into the distance, pointing to the east involuntarily.

“Towards everlasting life, march forth!”

Days and nights passed; the stars shifted through the sky.

A year passed in the blink of an eye, and the family of three whales had already traveled hundreds of thousands of miles where the spiritual energy of heaven and earth grew increasingly thin.

Dawn.

The rising sun, glimmers on the wavelets.

The Monkey King stared hard at the sea, close to the marked location, yet there was nothing in sight on the ocean’s surface.

“Could we have taken the wrong path?”

The Monkey King scratched his head, not doubting for a moment that Senior Bull might have deceived him.

As they approached within a dozen miles of the target, the giant whales suddenly hit an invisible wall, unable to advance even half a step further no matter how hard they tried.

“We’ve arrived! We’ve arrived!”

The Monkey King was overjoyed as he leapt beyond the barrier and shouted loudly.

“A junior directed by Senior Bull of Qingyun Mountain, I have come to seek discipleship and learn.”

A moment later.

A light radiated in front, condensing into the shape of a gateway, from which a child emerged, about three to four feet tall, with several Jin Ye atop his head.

“Come in, the Immortal is waiting for you,” the child said before turning away. The Monkey King stepped through, turned back to the three whales, and said.

“Come with me to meet the Immortal.”

The giant whales hesitated briefly, drawn by the powerful Spiritual Energy inside the portal. As their colossal forms neared the gateway, they shrank, and upon entering, the view opened up before them.

A few miles away was an island, with mist swirling about it and auspicious vapors rolling up.

Among the hazy mist, one could glimpse the silhouette of pavilions with upturned eaves.

The three joyful whales leapt out of the water, opening their mouths to swallow the auspicious vapors, gaining mana naturally, without the need for arduous cultivation.

It’s often said that when one attains enlightenment, even their chickens and dogs ascend to heaven; perhaps it’s like this, for even the immortalized pets like goldfish never seen cultivating are formidable Demon Gods and Saints when they descend to the mortal world.

The Monkey King followed the Spirit Ginseng child, making their way through the misty palace, and saw a sign hanging over the main hall, inscribed with three ancient spiritual characters.

Everlasting View!

“What a fine immortal realm, what a splendid name!”

The Spirit Ginseng child scolded, “Calm yourself, macaque.”

With his concave face and pointed mouth and being thin with a stature less than four feet tall, the Monkey King appeared quite uncouth in the child’s eyes.

“Certainly, certainly.”

The Monkey King immediately straightened up and followed into the hall, passing through various palaces and towers until they reached the main hall.

The doors opened by themselves.

Zhou Yi was sitting on a stone platform, his hair and beard all white, wearing a Great Purple Taoist Robe, with a Taoist scripture in his hand that he was halfway through reading.

After nearly a hundred years of seeking the Dao, the Monkey King had never seen such an embodiment of the Taoist aura, and he bowed his head in reverence.

“Disciple pays his respects to the master.”

Zhou Yi spoke, “I already know why you’ve come, but I do not take disciples, nor will I teach you spells or Divine Skills.”

For a long while, the Monkey King stood frozen, having thought he had found his fortune; instead, he faced emptiness once again.

His heart filled with melancholy, yet in an instant, he recovered; although the blow was considerable, the Monkey King wouldn’t extinguish his heart’s pursuit of the Dao.

Zhou Yi secretly nodded, affirming what Senior Bull had said—a naturally perseverant seeker of the Dao, likely transformed from some Innate Spiritual Object.

“I spend my days reciting scriptures, in need of a child to serve and tend to incense. Would you be willing to do so?”

The Monkey King’s despair quickly turned to joy, and he repeatedly kowtowed in agreement, “Disciple is willing!”
