The Celestial Emperor fell silent for a while before asking in a deep voice.

“Who is your master?”

Sun Changsheng always mentioned his master but never revealed his name or Daoist title, leaving the gods of the Heavenly Court with no way to investigate.

Now that his past life had been exposed, it turns out he was the formidable Blood Devil Child of the demonic sects, yet he had somehow learned the Divine Skills of the three teachings!

Sun Changsheng retorted, “And who, Your Majesty, might you be?”

Shortly after taking office in the Heavenly Court, the Celestial Emperor went through Divinity Transformation to confirm that Sun Changsheng was not the reincarnation of the Heavenly Master.

The Celestial Emperor proclaimed, “I am a True God!”

“My master is a True Immortal from the higher realms, the Longevity Taoist Ancestor!”

A gleam flashed in Sun Changsheng’s eyes; when he had used the Severing Heaven Technique, he obtained only the word “God,” which now seemed to have been fulfilled by the Celestial Emperor himself.

“The higher realms…”

The Celestial Emperor stared at Sun Changsheng for a long time. Due to the self-destruction of the boundless sea of blood, his strength had regressed to that of an ordinary celestial being.

Now, with the endless incense of the Heavenly Court at his disposal, he had eight or nine chances out of ten to suppress and seal it!

Sun Changsheng laughed, “If Your Majesty is thinking of reneging on your word, you should do it quickly as the commotion outside is about to end.”

The explosion of the Six Dragon Circle and the sea of blood at the same time caused fractures in the void within ten thousand miles, leaving a dark hole in the sky that could be seen from afar. Three mortal immortals and numerous True Gods were trying their best to stop the aftermath.

“You jest, dear friend. I have always kept my word,” said the Celestial Emperor.

More than anyone, the Celestial Emperor knew the essence of the sea of blood. Its core had already become a True Demon, and mortal means would be hard-pressed to completely annihilate it.

Even if he managed to suppress and seal it, once the explosion’s aftershocks ended, Sun Changsheng could accuse the Celestial Emperor publicly!

“Hehehe.”

Sun Changsheng scratched his head and teased, “Since that’s the case, then I shall presume!”

As he spoke, he channeled his Mana and manifested a thousand-foot-tall Arhat Golden Body, with one slap turning the Overhanging Firmament Hall into rubble, and the Celestial Emperor fell from the dragon throne, his dragon robe torn to pieces.

“You impudent monkey…”

The Celestial Emperor hadn’t finished speaking when several Buddhist palms struck down, burying him hundreds of feet underground.

“How amusing!”

A sense of relief cleared Sun Changsheng’s heart, and just as he was about to continue pummeling the Celestial Emperor, the hole in the sky visibly closed up.

Three mortal immortals stood in the air, their breaths fluctuating wildly.

Dozens of True Gods fared even worse. Originally having become enshrined as deities through the foundation of the Heavenly Court, now that the Court was in ruins, their Mana and vital breath neared the point of Divinity Transformation.

Coldly, Master Yu Bo said, “Monster monkey, you’ve thrown the Heavenly Court into chaos and you shall be executed!”

Without the support of the sea of blood, Sun Changsheng still had his indestructible body. He scoffed, “Old hairball, I’ll stand right here; think you can kill me?”

“Amitabha Buddha!”

Dajue Arhat chanted a Buddhist mantra, “Benefactor, you have caused a great disaster and amassed an enormous karmic burden. It would be best to follow this humble monk to Spirit Mountain to resolve it.”

Sun Changsheng was about to ridicule the thieving baldy, but Ming Zhenzi’s voice rang in his ear.

“Sun, my friend, it would be wise to stop while you are ahead. If the restoration sect were to invite a True Immortal to descend to the Mortal World for this, even you would not fare well. Perhaps make a demand, and this humble one will assuredly support you.”

Sun Changsheng’s eyebrows twitched, thinking to himself that the Severing Heaven Sect truly stood neither for good nor evil, acting as they pleased. The words he was about to speak softened.

“I shall return to my old home on Monkey Mountain, enter seclusion and cultivate, and not concern myself with worldly affairs. What do all of you think?” he said.

“You have slaughtered countless disciples of the three teachings and think to leave like this?”

Master Yu Bo sneered, “Only by willingly surrendering and sealing yourself in the Demon Suppression Tower will you be spared. Otherwise, you will be executed without mercy!”

“Pfft…”

Ming Zhenzi spat out a mouthful of blood, flying three or four zhang away. His Mana aura plummeted in an instant. When he spoke again, his voice was as low as a mosquito’s buzz.

“Master Yu Bo, I am grievously injured and could not contend in magic!”

“You…”

How could Master Yu Bo not know that Ming Zhenzi was feigning injury? But he could not find a reason to argue—having faced the self-destruction directly, even he was severely wounded.

Just then,

A divine light shot up from the earth, and the Celestial Emperor emerged disheveled and in tatters.

“You insolent monkey!”

“I will have your life!”

“Heavenly soldiers and generals, heed my command, form the array, and join forces to slay this fiend!”

The remaining Heavenly Court Righteous Gods, less than ten thousand, having narrowly survived the aftermath of the explosion and all severely injured, looked towards the three mortal immortals upon hearing the Celestial Emperor’s command.

“Your Majesty, the overall situation must take precedence!”

Dajue Arhat, having scanned the area with his Divine Sense, and not knowing whether it was strength or luck, noticed quite a few Buddhist disciples had survived. He hastily advised, “Today’s events, if we trace them to their origins, are a result of the Heavenly Court’s misunderstanding of Sun, my friend.”

Master Yu Bo also slowly calmed down; to continue fighting would mean not only the potential collapse of the continent but also his own chances of ascending to the higher realms would be dashed.

He huffed and did not argue.

“The great monk speaks wisely. I shall frequently visit Spirit Mountain for fun in the future,” Sun Changsheng praised, clapping his hands. Today’s magical combat was fortunate to involve Buddhist Law; otherwise, he would not have been able to tame the Arhat Shèlì relics and would have fallen into the trap set by the Buddhist school.

His master was right; the more one detested Buddhism, the more important it was to thoroughly understand Buddhist scriptures. To truly seek the obliteration of Buddhism, Magic Divine Abilities alone wouldn’t suffice. One must have the ability to edit its scriptures, warp its doctrines, and transform it from its roots into another sect.

Dajue Arhat pressed his palms together and smiled, “Sun, my friend, having obtained the transmission of Buddhist Law, you are also an Arhat of Spirit Mountain. You should come to recite sutras and debate the law.”

Ming Zhenzi stopped spitting blood and, with hands clasped, said, “Having perfected the Severing Heaven Technique, you might come to the Heavenly Secret Hall to exchange insights into methods of divination.”

Seeing this turn of events, the True Gods of the Heavenly Court collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

If the combat were to continue, the mortal immortals would fare well, but some True Gods would surely fall.

“Well said, well said,” replied Sun Changsheng with a smile, and with a challenging glance at the Celestial Emperor, he asked, “Your Majesty, may I take my leave now?”

“Begone!” The Celestial Emperor glared with loathing as if he abhorred Sun Changsheng to his very core.

“Ancestor of Demons, wait for me,” a voice called out, belonging to the Dao Master of Yin and Yang. Behind him followed a thousand demons and spirits.

Perplexed, Sun Changsheng asked, “I freed all of you, how come only so few remain?”
