Immortality Martial Arts: I Started with the Five Animals Health Fist

Chapter 416: Heaven Silkworm Cave! Heaven Silkworm Divine Intent Picture!

“I’ve offended!”

With this thought, Su Changkong gave a low shout. At this point, he had to clarify Old Man Qishi’s situation.

The Giant Ape Illusion swung its left fist, smashing it into the thick, tightly shut stone door!

“Boom!”

Amidst the blasting sound, the nearly one zhang thick stone door shattered under the punch, revealing a passageway.

Su Changkong let the Giant Ape Illusion carry Qian Rui, and then they slowly moved through the passageway.

Through the passage, what appeared before Su Changkong was a huge cavern. It was unclear whether the cavern was a natural formation or man-made, but it had seen many years, with stalactites hanging from the ceiling.

Ahead was a pond several zhang wide, and inside, a green, medicinal-scented liquid, likely concocted from many precious herbs.

And by the pond, beneath an overhanging rock, an old man sat in quiet meditation. His body was wrapped in strands of grayish-white silk, resembling silk threads, and there were fragments around him that looked like pieces of silk cocoons.

The gray-haired old man sat with his head bowed, not moving an inch or showing any reaction to Su Changkong’s intrusion.

“Master…” A look of sorrow and anguish appeared on Qian Rui’s face, as if he had lost his soul.

“Dead…”

Su Changkong, too, wordlessly approached the meditating old man, extended a finger to feel in front of his nose, and felt an icy chill, the skin devoid of any hint of warmth.

Su Changkong was somewhat silent, also coming to understand the situation.

There was no doubt that the old man who had died while meditating was Old Man Qishi!

Previously, Helian Yuan had said that Old Man Qishi was in seclusion, which wasn’t a lie to Su Changkong, but it was likely he knew that Old Man Qishi’s seclusion was one of death, with slim chances of his emerging alive.

Such matters, naturally, couldn’t be clearly explained to an outsider like Su Changkong. An Innate Martial Artist was an important force, and for the Spirit Taoist Sect, the life and death of Old Man Qishi couldn’t be carelessly revealed. If it became known that they lost an Innate Martial Artist, it would be equivalent to a significant reduction in their power, possibly triggering ill intentions from rival sects!

“My master went into seclusion a year ago, claiming that if he didn’t break through within half a year, we would have to collect his body… but… but we still held a sliver of hope, hoping that master could make a breakthrough and emerge…”

As Qian Rui spoke, he began to choke up.

Old Man Qishi was the eldest in the entire Spirit Taoist Sect. Even for an Innate Martial Artist, there was a limit to life.

Typically between 150 to 200 years.

Old Man Qishi had reached the advanced age of 200, and a year ago had sensed his time was coming to an end, hence he entered the Heaven Silkworm Cave to meditate, hoping for a breakthrough to extend his life.

But he had never made a breakthrough before, so how could it be easy to do so when one’s life was nearing its end?

Old Man Qishi’s breakthrough attempt unsurprisingly failed, and with life’s limit reached, he died while meditating in the Heaven Silkworm Cave.

Sect Master Helian Yuan and Qian Rui were also clear in their hearts that Old Man Qishi had not emerged from his seclusion after such a long time beyond the expected duration, which meant he had most likely died while meditating. ṚÁNôBЁṧ

But Helian Yuan, Qian Rui, and others didn’t break open the stone chamber of seclusion because they harbored a faint hope that Old Man Qishi might not have passed away, that perhaps the breakthrough was simply taking longer, hoping for a miracle to happen.

Until today, when Su Changkong forcefully entered, shattering that hope.

“Mourn him well…” Seeing Qian Rui crying and sobbing, Su Changkong let out a long sigh and offered a word of consolation.

Su Changkong was certainly exasperated; with Old Man Qishi already having passed away, there was no chance he could help with mending the broken vein, so his trip was in vain!

“Mr. Su, now that you are aware of my master’s death, I implore you not to spread the word. And… could you please release me? Let’s leave this place first.”

Qian Rui’s voice rose, as he restrained his sorrow and spoke to Su Changkong.

Su Changkong had come looking for Old Man Qishi to mend his meridians, and now that he knew Old Man Qishi had passed away, there was no reason for him to stay any longer.

Deeply disappointed, Su Changkong glanced around the stone cave, ready to release Qian Rui and leave quietly when he suddenly made a discovery.

His gaze fell to the bottom of the small pond, beneath the green medicinal liquid, where some patterns and designs were engraved.

Su Changkong could vaguely make out the designs were of grayish-white silkworm cocoons, simple in appearance yet containing a profound Intent Realm.

This pattern unexpectedly captivated Su Changkong’s gaze, causing him to become entranced, as if seeing the cocoons wriggling, with silkworms breaking free and transforming into butterflies, fluttering gracefully!
