Chapter 1094: 1094 Hospitable

What none of them there on the platform knew was that the tribulation cloud had followed the signature of Wolfe’s mana and had encompassed the entire world in shadow while the trial was ongoing.

To the more superstitious, it was an omen of great change, a day when the sky turned black with clouds, or when the stars vanished and tribulation lightning rocked the world.

There were dozens of prophecies about similar situations, and everyone who remembered one thought that this might be the fulfillment of their prophecy.

Those with more power recognized that it was Wolfe advancing to King Rank, which might also meet the requirements for some of them, but mostly it was going to be a turning point in the world.

He wasn’t the only King currently on the planet, but his aura was so distinct, so uniquely local, that there was no doubt that it had to be him.

As the lightning peaked with a constant stream of power that made the Witches use their magic to reinforce the pillar, the sky turned so black that the only things they could see were lightning and the eyes of some of the off world visitors.

Then the lightning stopped, and the cloud vanished between heartbeats, returning the world to its natural state as if the tribulation had never happened.

Wolfe stepped out of the defensive spells, and the mana throughout the mountains trembled with his power before he restrained his aura and stepped down to the surface on pure mana flows.

“Welcome, everyone. It is both a delight and an honour to know that so many cared enough to come attend the advancement of a lone Magi on an isolated world such as this one.” Wolfe greeted them.

The attendees laughed. The reason that they had attended was because the tribulation he had formed had pulled power from their worlds and opened the pathway for them to come here. How could they not come take a look when something so strange was happening in a world they had never seen?

“For those who haven’t met me yet, I am Wolfe Noxus, Patriarch of the Noxus Magi Family, and current leader of the Frozen Wastes Region on this continent.” Wolfe explained.

A creature approached Wolfe that seemed to be nothing but shadows inside a tattered cloak, similar to Ella’s Familiar, though he didn’t feel like an undead.

“Your soul feels fresh. Tell me, Magi King, how long have you been alive?” It asked, its voice a raspy whisper.

“Twenty years old, by this world’s reckoning, which is similar to the Demon Realms’ reckoning.” Wolfe replied.

The Demons in the crowd smiled, pleased that he would give a reference that they could understand.

Almost everyone knew the Demon Realms’ calendar because they weren’t barred from the rest of the universe, but they hadn’t expected this new Magi King on a world they didn’t know to understand the ways of other worlds.

The visitors were shocked to silence until King Leandro began to laugh. “Yeah, that was our response as well, when he reached the Saint Rank less than a year ago. His progression rate is absolutely insane.”

The woman with the crab hands and tentacles turned to give a razor toothed smile at the Incubus King. “Leandro, I didn’t know you were familiar with this place.”

“For the past half year, yes. We’ve made an agreement to work with them to bring new attractions to the city. If you get a chance to come visit my Capital, you will see many new things that weren’t there even a decade ago.” He agreed.

A few of the others who were familiar with Leandro, or at least with his Kingdom, whispered to each other excitedly. New things were so rare, even in their long lives, but having them spread to long-established Kingdoms was incredibly rare.

Normally, they would grow and fade into obscurity before any of the Immortal Races even noticed that they had existed, and then they would just be a footnote in the records of some world that had never produced anyone of note.

“King Leandro, King Noxus, is there perhaps some history to this world that we don’t know?” A translucent man with the consistency of jelly inquired.

His body changed colours with his emotions, and Wolfe wondered if he could convince someone of that species to stay here. They were absolutely fascinating.

Leandro nodded to Wolfe, who smiled at the slime creature. “This is the original home world of the Magi and Witches.”

That caused an uproar among the creatures. Everyone had legends of the Magi and Witches. The Magi explored everywhere, looking for new knowledge, while the Witches’ summoning of Familiars made them the equivalent of boogeymen to a number of cultures.

“There are actual Witches here? Not creatures that are called Witches, but actual curse bringers?” A small King Rank furry creature asked.

“There is a Witch Saintess standing right beside Leandro, along with nine others, and the five Demons who are also bound in my Pentacles.” Wolfe agreed.

Cassie and Ella, who were standing next to Leandro, both waved, while the crowd began to get excited.

A few of them took out the magical equivalent of cameras, or adjusted their memory crystals to record more information about the Witches.

“I don’t know if you were aware, but both of your species are a form of legend among most worlds of the universe. Today is a real joy. Not only did we get to see the most unorthodox King’s Crowning in recorded history, but we got to meet the mythical terrors of the cosmos, the Curse Bringers.”

Wolfe laughed, and Cassie shot him a dirty look.

“I don’t know how we became the terrifying ones when a Magi King can rearrange the geography of a planet on a whim, but I suppose it’s a bit gratifying to know that other worlds have at least heard of our species.” Ella replied as politely as possible.

“Who could forget? It was my own brother, only fifteen thousand years ago, who was summoned as a Familiar, and returned as an Overlord, with an amulet that let him curse others to weakness in a way that no spell could cure.” The furry little King replied.

Ella laughed and grew an amulet in her hand, then tossed it to him.

“That’s a cleansing Charm. Add mana, and it will remove Witch Curses cast by anyone weaker than a Saint.” She explained.
