Chapter 1121: 1121 Theatre Room

The others hesitated, so Wolfe led them inside and settled into the middle of a sofa in the corner of the room, where the seats were arranged so they could all see each other once seated, and still see the screen if they wanted.

“I didn’t have a projector handy, but the rest of the theatre is set up. What do you think?” He asked.

Each of the clusters of seats was set a few steps down from the next so that you wouldn’t be looking at the back of someone’s head to see the screen. It was all in what appeared to be comfortable leather with soft cushions, but they were actually just frames covered in illusions and spells to create comfortable seats.

“There are one – way spells on the seating areas as well. Check this out.” Wolfe informed them with a wink.

When the spells activated, the other seats seemed to disappear. It was basic light magic used in the Noxus Library, and while Wolfe was terrible at it, he could at least still hide the occupants of the theatre.

“What are you thinking that people will be doing in the theatre?” Cassie asked with a suspicious look on her face.

King Memo laughed.

“That spell includes soundproofing as well. It might actually be just as valuable for educational videos so students can study as it is for more spicy videos, which I would presume most people would watch in their room anyhow.

Everybody in the area will see you going in and out of the theatre, even if you have the booth shielded, so they will know who was watching the spicy videos together.”

“Oh, that is a good point. Study groups can brainstorm without interrupting the other groups. We could make this whole area a research centre. Everyone on staff will want to further their studies at some point, and we will have training videos for all the new staff.

Wait, this is in the private quarters, isn’t it?” Ella rambled.

“Yeah. This is in the area reserved for the Pentacle members, but that just means that it will get used for even more studying. The humans have a lot of magic to learn and study, and they’re also likely to be a great source of new magical theories if they can take the time to study.

I think that making good study and relaxation areas for them is going to help us a lot in the long run.

The way we think really changes how we do magic. For example, compare this to how we have been using portals.”

Wolfe created a small portal to reach through and pinch Ella’s backside.

She squeaked and jumped, then glared at him.

“No wonder that forbidden magic was forgotten. It’s too easy to abuse.

But was that a proper portal? Could you move across the castle with that little mana?”

Wolfe nodded. “Exactly. The size of the portal will increase the mana used, but a small portal to step through and move across the valley shouldn’t take any more mana than making a fireball the same size.

There is a minimum, but it’s pretty low compared to the traditional portal methods.”

The Demon Royals gestured impatiently, and Wolfe created the array in front of him so everyone could see it.

But after dozens of tries none of the others could activate it, not even Cassie and Ella.

“Well, perhaps with study of the principles, but you have to have some affinity for it to work. It might be that only Magi ever had an affinity for it, so when they were lost, so was the entire element.” Wolfe suggested.

Queen Elizabeth nodded. “I would say that is true. Most of the time, a Queen can use whatever spells she has an array for, except for those ones that have the extra layer of raw mana that only the Magi can activate properly.

But this is different. I can see the spell, I know what it is supposed to do, and I still can’t make it work.”

Wolfe drew the array on a golden disc, and still nobody could activate it.

“Maybe I just have a much better affinity for it. I can foresee many great uses for this spell.”

“All lewd, I’m willing to wager.” Cassie laughed.

“You would lose that wager. I was thinking of sneaking snacks from the pantry without getting out of bed.”

Ella smirked. “If Mary finds out that is an option, she is going to demand one be permanently installed in her room.”

“I suspect that many people will want them permanently activated, but that would just be a mess for traffic. So, I will just tell them to learn the spell, or fly around the castle like a normal person.”

King Memo got an inspired look and snapped his fingers. “Why don’t you make one of those moving floors, like Leandro has at the airport? It can run all through a level, and then you don’t need to walk.”

Cassie smirked and created a long staff. Then she activated her flight spell with the staff upright. It made her glide along the ground smoothly, and the Demon Royals all began to laugh.

“Now that’s cheating. I had never thought about using an object to allow flight at ground level. It’s much faster than walking, and it doesn’t seem to take much mana. I suppose as long as the floor is smooth and polished, it’s not hard to slide along it, so you don’t even need to lift your whole weight.” King Memo noted.

“There have been a lot of little tricks that we picked up lately to make things easy. I think if you cast the spell on your sword and held on to it, you could do the same easily enough.

Well, perhaps not you, as you’ve got metal shoes on your hooves that will catch on the cracks between floor stones, but the others.”

Memo shrugged, and reached into his storage bag. “I think that I have an alternative. I can use flight magic on a skateboard.”

Now, that would be entertaining, considering that he was over five metres tall and had huge black wings on his back. But any time you saw a King skateboarding, it was bound to raise some questions.
