""Won’t put them in? Oh great~""

Apparently, even Allen and Elena dislike cakes with bugs. They seemed relieved when I said I wouldn't put them in. I was a bit relieved too, as I thought they might eat bugs without any issue.

"Well then, let's get back on track and make some steamed cakes~"

""Let's make them~""

With the misunderstanding cleared up, we decided to make steamed cakes again.

"What flavor should we make~?"

""Flavor? Isn't it ant honey flavor?""

"Of course, we'll use ant honey, but that's just a sweetener. It has a unique flavor, but plain—it's the simplest taste. But steamed cakes, like pancakes or pound cakes, can have various flavors. Wouldn't it be nice to make cakes of different flavors and colors?"

""Wanna make those!""

I don't dislike the flavor of ant honey or plain ones, but this time, I plan to use it just as a sweetener.

"Well, if we use green ant honey, we can mix in Ena grass—spinach or green tea flavor. For red ant honey, we can mix in Ichi jam. Blue ant honey... it would be best to keep it plain. Without using ant honey, we can mix in ishiuri paste or chocolate. Plain with lots of Nana fruit pieces would be good too."

""They all sound yummy!""

"Umu, I want to try them all!"

We started making them right away, each of us making different ones simultaneously.

Instead of beating the eggs, we mixed broken eggs with ant honey, sugar, or honey, added flour and baking powder, and mixed well. Then we mixed in a bit of oil and pastes.

"Now we just need to steam them."

""It's liquidy~ How do we steam it?""

"Huh? Oh!"

I realized, after the kids pointed it out, that I hadn't prepared containers for the liquid batter like for steamed buns.

"I completely forgot. Just wait a moment."

We could steam them directly in heat-resistant cups, but they might stick to the insides. We don't have aluminum cups or cooking sheets either.

"Is there anything usable..."

I decided to look inside my Infinite Storage.

"Let's see..."

—Ding♪

"Hm?"

As I was rummaging through the Infinite Storage, I heard a notification sound and saw new items added to the list. They were convenient cup-shaped items made of a silicone-like material. There were plenty, in the familiar shape of aluminum cups.

"... Is this from Syl? Or Marianora-sama? They must want steamed cakes."

I used Appraisal on the silicone cups and found they were made from a material of a monster—Magma Slime, a previously unknown monster to me.

"Takumi, is something wrong?"

"Hm? Probably a delivery from Syl?"

"What? An emergency?!"

"No, not that. Something useful just arrived. Kaiser, do you know about Magma Slimes?"

"Mu? They are slimes specialized in heat resistance, found in very hot areas like volcanoes."

"Heh~ so slimes specialized in heat resistance exist."

There are still many unknown monsters out there.

"Is the one you are holding from a Magma Slime? Then, is this blue one from Ice Slime?"

"Huh? This one?"

Prompted by Kaiser, I hurriedly used Appraisal on the blue silicone cup. As Kaiser said, it was made from Ice Slime material.

"I thought it was just a color difference, but the materials are different."

I had noticed there were two types, but I had only appraised the red one, thinking the blue one was just a color variation.

"Ice Slimes are specialized in cooling. Well, Magma Slimes are weak to cold and Ice Slimes are weak to heat, making them easy to defeat."

"I see, so it's not like silicone that can be used for both, so we should use them separately."

That's probably why we received two types of silicone cups.

"Oh, there's a card too. Let's see, 'The golden salmon oyakodon was delicious, so we'd like to try chicken oyakodon too… Everyone agreed to contact Takumi-san, but just now, Marianora-sama saw you making steamed cakes and rushed to provide containers. If possible, we request steamed cakes as well. If both are not possible, please prioritize the steamed cakes.'"

"Mu?"

It seemed like a request card, initially asking for oyakodon. It was a rare request for something not sweet, but Marianora-sama intervened, resulting in a double request. Apparently, Marianora-sama was watching in real time.

"We received something good, so I see no problem."

I voiced my agreement, knowing Syl was probably watching in real time too.

""Nniyu?""

"Just giving a response. Allen, Elena, Kaiser, can you fill these cups about four-fifths with batter?"

""Leave it to us~!""

"Umu."

We started filling the red silicone—not silicone, but slime cups with batter.

"I'll steam the cakes while making oyakodon, so Allen, Elena, Kaiser, can you prepare more batter?"

""Sure~""

"Understood."

I steamed the cakes while making the requested oyakodon.

"Oh, the cakes turned out pretty well~"

""Let us see~""

The kids rushed over as soon as they heard the first batch was done.

"Fluffy~"

"Pretty colors~"

"Ohh~ so they turned out like this~"

We couldn't steam all at once, so we steamed two types, blue and red. They turned out prettier than expected. After cooling, I peeled off the slime cups, and the cakes came out perfectly shaped.

"Wow~ there’s not a single bit stuck."

We received some very good items.

We just have to be careful not to cool the red cups or heat the blue cups. I don't know what might happen, but there's a reason they are separated.

""Can we try them?""

"You can, but only half of one each since it's before dinner."

""Okay!""

"W-what about me?"

"Kaiser, you can have one of each."

Kaiser's stomach could probably handle multiple cakes, but we'll match the kids.

"""Mm~~~"""

All three seemed to like it, and after tasting, they eagerly mass-produced various colors and flavors of steamed cakes.

For Syl, or rather Marianora-sama, we made many kinds, so I sent two of each type of steamed cake and oyakodon for everyone.
