Chapter 1125: Please don’t fight…..

What just happened…

Aether had just killed Vesperine. Right there. Right in front of Kaelen’s eyes.

Everything froze.

Why?

Why did he do it?

It all happened so fast—almost unreal, like a dream turning into a nightmare in the blink of an eye.

One second, she walked into the room… and the next, she was gone.

Aether snapped the moment his eyes locked onto Vesperine. The moment he noticed her trembling gaze when she looked at Aqualina and Selene, like a predator caught red-handed. The moment he turned his head and saw Kaelen smiling—so happy, so alive, his heart full of love.

Something inside Aether shattered.

Was she manipulating his son?

Was she toying with his boy’s heart—pulling his strings like he was nothing but a puppet?

And when she looked at Aether… with those lust-filled eyes, like she saw him as her next conquest… another victim to play with…

That was it.

Without thinking, without holding back, without even a flicker of hesitation—he moved. In a single brutal motion, his fist flew forward and collided with her face. The impact wasn’t just physical—it was soul-crushing.

Her skull didn’t just break; it disintegrated. Her head exploded into a burst of crimson mist, skin and bone scattering into glimmering particles, erased from existence by the sheer force behind his blow.

No trace remained… Not even blood hit the floor.

The entire room was swallowed by an unnatural silence, like even the air was too stunned to move.

Kaelen stared at what used to be her face, but now… there was nothing. His lips parted, his voice stuck in his throat. Then—

“V-Vesp…?” he whispered, his voice cracking, unbelieving, fragile like glass. His body trembled. His mouth hung open as the realisation crashed into him.

“ARRRHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” The scream tore through his chest and erupted into the room, loud and raw, drowning in heartbreak and disbelief.

Aether stood there, panting heavily, his chest rising and falling like he had run miles. He looked down at his hand—still shaking, covered in dust and traces of blood. He hadn’t meant to go that far.

He hadn’t thought. His mind had blacked out for a second and then—this. He gritted his teeth, breath ragged. He clenched his fists.

“Fuck!!!” he roared, slamming his knuckles against the wall before slowly turning around to see Kaelen—his son—on his knees, hands clutching the remains of the woman he loved.

Kaelen’s fingers were soaked in her blood, shaking as he tried to gather what little was left of her. His eyes were red, tears spilling like rivers. “M-My love… sniff… please…” his voice broke into soft sobs as his blood-stained hands trembled.

Just moments ago, they were laughing.

They were happy.

He had felt the warmth of her body, her lips, her presence. And now—nothing but emptiness.

“Kaele—” Aether stepped forward, his voice strained, reaching out to him.

But Kaelen didn’t look at him. His sobbing slowed… and then stopped. His shoulders dropped. His head lowered. And then, with a dead tone, he asked quietly, “What did she do to you?”

Aether froze mid-step. “I… I didn’t mean to—”

“What did she do to you?”

His voice was flat. Lifeless. But behind it, a storm was brewing. The kind of rage that could split the sky in half.

“WHAT DID SHE DO TO YOU!!!!!! WWRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!”

Kaelen’s voice exploded into a primal howl as he roared with grief and fury. His body convulsed, muscles tearing and reforming, bones snapping into new shapes. Fur exploded from his skin, claws bursting from his fingertips, fangs growing and curving past his lips. His sorrow ignited into rage—pure, wild, animalistic rage.

With an earth-shaking snarl, he leaped at Aether, fangs bared, claws ready to kill.

He didn’t care that it was his father.

He was ready to murder him.

Liora, seated at the dining table, jumped to her feet. Her body shifted mid-air, transforming into her wolf form with a powerful growl. She lunged at Kaelen just in time, intercepting him before he could sink his claws into Aether’s chest.

They collided like beasts, rolling across the floor in a blur of fur, teeth, and fury, crashing out of the dining hall with a loud crash.

“Kaelen, STOP!!” Liora growled, pressing her face close to his, locking eyes with him, trying to reach the boy she had raised.

But Kaelen wasn’t there anymore.

He wasn’t listening.

He wasn’t reasoning.

He was gone.

The beast inside him had taken full control.

With a savage snarl, he kicked Liora back, his hind legs smashing against her gut. Before she could recover, his claw slashed across her cheek.

Chucckk!

Blood splattered as Liora rolled across the ground, stunned by the power in his strike. Her cheek was ripped open, the skin flayed by her own son’s claws.

She gasped, trying to breathe, her ears ringing. She looked up to see him—Kaelen, but not Kaelen—snarling at her like a wild predator.

His eyes were no longer emotional. His face held no empathy, no guilt, no pain—only hatred and animalistic madness.

There was no son in those eyes.

Only a monster born of heartbreak.

“HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLL!!!” he cried into the sky before lunging at her again, mouth wide open, jaws aimed for her throat.

“Snap out of it, Kaelen!!” Aether’s voice boomed as he appeared behind him, slamming his leg into Kaelen’s ribs, knocking him away from Liora.

Kaelen rolled across the floor, growling, drool and venom dripping from his snarling mouth.

He bared his fangs at Aether, the sight of his father enraging him even more.

“She was manipulating you, Kaelen! She was using you!” Aether shouted, trying to reach his son’s heart.

But there was no reasoning now.

No words would reach him.

Kaelen—no, the beast—wasn’t listening anymore. He had become a wild animal. An uncontrollable force of vengeance.

Aether dodged his charge, countered with a punch to the snout, then a kick to the ribs. Blood splattered from Kaelen’s mouth, but he didn’t stop. He kept coming. Kept attacking.

The loss of his beloved had turned him into something unstoppable.

Liora struggled to get up, her legs trembling. She looked down and saw claw wounds on her side, pulsing and twisting unnaturally. Her hands trembled. Her lips quivered.

Her son’s venom had entered her bloodstream.

It was eating her from the inside.

She dropped to her knees, panting. “N-No… Please…” she whispered, voice cracking. Her eyes flicked up to see her husband and son trying to kill each other—blood staining the marble floor, growls echoing through the walls.

Their family…

A family once held together by love, smiles, and laughter…

Had shattered into chaos, fury, and blood.

A nightmare they could never wake up from.

Just then—

Gasp…

Delphine gasped loudly, her breath catching in her throat as her pupils widened with shock.

She just had… A vision?

A horrified expression spread across her face, and her head whipped around, scanning the room, until her eyes locked on the girl who had just stepped inside.

Vesperine.

Kaelen immediately stood from his chair, his eyes lighting up with joy. He walked straight to her and placed a hand gently around her shoulder before turning to everyone at the table.

“This is my beloved woman,” he said clearly, looking everyone in the eye. “Vesperine. The one I love deeply.”

Vesperine smiled back, though her expression was clearly forced. Her voice came out shaky, “H-Hello,” she muttered awkwardly, carefully avoiding the gaze of Aqualina and Selene.

’Fuck! If I knew this would happen, I would’ve never come here!’ Vesperine screamed inwardly, her anxiety spiking.

But Kaelen’s smile began to fade. He tilted his head, sensing the shift in the room. “Dad?” he asked, eyes narrowing, “Is something wrong?”

Vesperine blinked, confused and startled by the title. “Dad? He’s your… father?” she asked, pointing toward the young-looking man with a stunned expression. She had assumed Aether was just another friend or servant.

’Oh fuck… both the son and the father?’ Vesperine bit her lip, trying not to smirk as she grinned internally. ’This just got even better… Maybe I could try both? Why not?’

But before her dirty thoughts could dig deeper, a voice boomed through the hall.

“AETHER!!!”

Delphine’s hands slammed against the wooden table, the impact so strong it nearly split the plates and bowls in half. Food shook, drinks trembled.

Aether jolted as if waking from a trance. His eyes blinked several times, trying to return to focus as he stared at Delphine in surprise.

Delphine was breathing hard. Her eyes were glistening, yet her face remained sharp and tense as she shook her head slowly.

/You better control yourself!/ she screamed at him in her mind.

Aether blinked again, dazed, /What did I do?/ he wondered silently, confused by the anger pointed at him.

He hadn’t done anything.

Not yet.

But as he watched the sweat roll down Delphine’s neck, the fear in her eyes, he realized—she had seen something.

She had seen a vision.

/… what did you see?/ Aether frowned, feeling his muscles twitching. A dangerous itch ran through his arms like a suppressed urge.

Delphine’s gaze hardened, /Aether… please…/

Aether exhaled slowly, trying to calm his nerves. His eyes flicked toward Vesperine, who was standing awkwardly under everyone’s gaze, looking around in confusion. And then her gaze met his.

“Aether? You mean Kai’s slave?” she asked, voice sharp and dismissive.

Everyone went silent.

“Hey, bitch, he isn’t anyone’s slave, bitch,” Selene snarled from across the table, her eyes locked on Vesperine with a look that could cut steel.

Vesperine blinked, caught off guard. She swallowed hard as her eyes darted to Selene’s face—her expression wasn’t normal.

Kaelen frowned, displeased by the insult. “Selene, don’t speak to her like that.”

Aether inhaled deeply, fighting the storm swirling inside him. He turned his head slowly, eyes narrowing on Kaelen.

“I don’t like her,” he said flatly… with the most common fatherly expression!

Kaelen blinked, confused. “W-What? Dad? What do you mean?”

Veserpine looked back at Aether again.

Aether’s gaze drifted to her. “The woman you love… the one standing beside you… she was actually in a relationship with Kai,” he said, his voice razor-sharp.

Kaelen’s face drained of colour. His body stiffened as he slowly turned to Vesperine. His eyes were wide, unblinking. “W-What?”

Vesperine’s expression contorted instantly. She shook her head with urgency.

“N-No! He’s lying! Yes—it’s true that I had a relationship with Kai, but I already ended it! Didn’t I tell you, Kaelen? I swear!” Her eyes filled with tears as she threw herself into his chest, wrapping her arms around him. “A-Are you going to abandon me over that? Please…”

Kaelen winced as the pain hit him like a spike to the chest. He knew her. He had seen her cry before. He had kissed those lips. He had trusted her.

“I know about it, Dad… but I still accept her,” he said softly, tightening his embrace around her.

“Sniff… sniff… I love you, Kaelen…” Vesperine cried harder in his arms, her voice muffled in his chest.

But as Aether looked at her from across the room… he saw it.

That smirk.

That smug, mocking little grin that only he could see.

She was taunting him.

She was winning.

“This bitch…” Aether’s voice dropped into a growl. His body moved before his mind caught up. His foot stomped the floor so hard it cracked beneath him. In the blink of an eye, his knuckles surged forward, heading straight for her face.

“How dare you trick my son!!!”

He just want to teach this bitch… It’s not like he’s going to mistakenly kill her!… right?

“NOOOOOOO!!!” Delphine screamed, launching herself forward, desperate to stop him before something irreversible happened.

But she was too late.

Or so she thought—

Clang! Clang!

Out of nowhere, thick black chains erupted from a swirling dark portal mid-air. They wrapped tightly around Aether’s arm just before it reached Vesperine’s face, halting all of his momentum in a violent yank.

The sudden stop was so intense that both Vesperine and Kaelen were thrown backwards by the sheer shockwave, their bodies crashing against the floor several feet away.

That’s… definitely would have killed her, right?

Aether blinked, shocked, eyes wide as he stared at the chain that had halted him.

Clang…

Another chain, this one shimmering gold, snapped out from the same portal and wrapped around his other arm before yanking hard and pulling him through.

Aether vanished.

Everyone in the room froze.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

No one could even process what had just happened.

Meanwhile…

Aether fell from the sky, his body wrapped in countless chains—black and gold—binding him like a prisoner. His body slammed hard against the ground, dust flying around him. He groaned, trying to stand, but the chains dug in, tightening further with every movement. He couldn’t break free.

A voice echoed through the silence, smooth and amused.

“Oh? You finally came…”

Aether’s ears twitched. He slowly raised his head, only to see a figure crouched before him,

Nyx Shadowfall.

Her purple-blue eyes glimmered with interest, her lips curled into a devilish smile as she looked down at him like a queen admiring her newest toy.
