LEGENDARY BROKEN PLAYER - VRMMORPG
Chapter 838 - 838 - When the Ocean WatchesIt had been a week since they set sail, and this journey was nothing like what Broken had originally expected.
At first, he thought it would be dull—just endless days of staring at the same stretch of water with nothing to do.
But he had been so wrong.
There was so much to see—so many wonders hidden in the vast ocean.
Now, he finally understood why most members of the Vensalor Outriders Guild were so passionate about this kind of adventure.
The monsters alone were on an entirely different level—far stronger and wilder than the creatures found on land.
Not to mention their sheer size—some of them so massive that they made even the largest land beasts seem insignificant in comparison.
And then, there were the phenomena—events that could only happen in the open sea.
Towering waves that rose like mountains, lifting the ship high into the air before slamming it back down with bone-rattling force.
Just imagining what it would be like to sail through this in the real world…
A normal ship wouldn’t stand a chance. They would be swallowed whole.
Luckily, Broken’s crew was tough—every member was highly skilled and well-prepared.
They knew how to anticipate problems before they spiraled out of control.
Any minor damage to the golem ship was immediately repaired before it could turn into something worse.
Even though the ship had self-repair capabilities, its restoration rate wasn’t fast enough to handle severe damage in real time.
So whenever they could fix things manually, they did—
Because out here, in the wild ocean, a small mistake could quickly become a disaster.
On this expedition, Broken had brought along the entire Vensalor Outriders Guild, led by Ronan.
Every single member of this crew was highly experienced in naval exploration—they weren’t just sailors, they were survivors of the sea. Their knowledge of the ocean made them invaluable, but more than that, many of them were also skilled fighters.
Which meant—
If they ran into hostile sea monsters, these people weren’t just passengers—they were warriors who could hold their own in battle.
In addition to them, SexyGrill had also assembled her own team, bringing a total of seven members from the Sexy Killers Guild.
Her squad included herself, SexyBloom, and five other members, all of whom were high-level female players, each sitting comfortably above Level 200.
While Sexy Killers wasn’t a guild packed with top-tier elites, the members she had selected were exceptional fighters, making them a valuable addition to the crew.
As for Broken’s own guild, the Vensalor Guild, he had deliberately chosen not to bring any of them.
For one, their numbers were small.
And more importantly, each of them had critical roles to play back in the Dissidia Kingdom.
He couldn’t afford to pull them away from their duties just for this expedition.
This journey had to be handled by the right people—
And right now, he had the best team possible for what lay ahead.
Every now and then during the voyage, Broken would take the chance to dive into the ocean, especially when the weather was calm and the waves weren’t too violent.
Thanks to his Underwater Breath ability—a skill he obtained from completing the Trial Domain near Slumdon Town—he could swim and breathe underwater indefinitely.
This meant he never had to worry about stamina while exploring the depths.
A truly invaluable skill for a journey like this.
Yet, there was something else on his mind.
The Legendary-grade Abyssal Naga Egg. This was the same egg he had obtained from that very same Trial Domain.
And now, as he swam through these untamed waters, he wondered—
Would this be the perfect place to finally supply mana to the egg?
He had been waiting for the right conditions to awaken whatever was inside. But even now—it still wouldn’t react.
Why?
Was it because of the word “Abyssal” in its name?
Did the egg need to be submerged in the deepest parts of the ocean before it could absorb mana?
Broken squinted into the darkness below.
Even though it was broad daylight above, the depths of the ocean were pitch black, and his visibility was extremely limited.
Diving deeper would be too risky without preparation.
Perhaps…
He should consider building a golem—one specialized for deep-sea exploration.
His curiosity about the egg was too strong to ignore.
After all—
This was a Legendary-grade egg.
Whatever hatched from it wouldn’t be ordinary. It could be as extraordinary as Pawpaw, or maybe even greater.
But for now—
He needed to return to the ship. No matter how well he could breathe underwater, his swimming speed was nothing compared to the ship’s movement. If he stayed too long, he’d end up stranded.
As night fell, the team gathered as usual in the central area of the ship, where the crew would cook, eat, sing, and dance, fully embracing the moments of joy on this long journey.
No matter how vast and unpredictable the ocean was, Ronan and his team never let their spirits fade—their energy was infectious, turning every evening into a celebration rather than just another night at sea.
And, as always—
Vallrick was at it again.
The messy-haired assassin with his hollow-eyed stare and social awkwardness never missed a chance to pester Broken about joining the Vensalor Guild.
Tonight was no different.
“Broken, please… just let me become an official member of the Vensalor Guild… I really, really want to be part of such a cool guild! It’s my dream!”
He pleaded dramatically, practically begging at the table where Broken, SexyGrill, and SexyBloom were seated.
SexyGrill burst out laughing.
“Do you really not understand rejection, Vallrick? As far as I remember, Broken never even acknowledges your requests. Hahaha!”
Vallrick groaned in despair, holding his head.
“Yes! Even though I’ve openly revealed my identity… Why am I still not trusted? Hiks…” He fake-cried, looking absolutely defeated.
SexyGrill smirked.
“That’s because you’re too mysterious. You made us doubt you from the start.”
Vallrick frowned.
“How? I’ve already shared so much about myself! I don’t keep any secrets from you guys!”
SexyGrill leaned forward, eyes narrowing in suspicion.
“Alright then—tell me this. With your experience, your insane quest history, and your status as a Divine Champion… why don’t you have a guild yet, huh?”
The table went silent.
Vallrick froze for a second, his expression shifting to an awkward smile.
“Oh… uh… hehe… well, that’s because… uhm… that’s because….”
No answer.
Nothing clear.
Just a weak laugh as he dodged the question.
“See? You can’t be trusted!” SexyGrill declared triumphantly, while SexyBloom burst into laughter beside her.
“Wait…!” Vallrick suddenly dropped to his knees, clasping his hands together in a dramatic pleading gesture.
“It’s not that I’m untrustworthy… it’s just that my past isn’t worth telling. Hehe.”
Then, without missing a beat, he turned to SexyGrill, his expression desperate.
“Grill, then let me join Sexy Killers instead! I dream of being part of a cool guild like yours!”
SexyGrill let out a long sigh, rubbing her temples.
“Listen. First of all, my guild is just an average guild—mostly low-level players. Second, I only accept female members, so you don’t even qualify. And third…”
She leaned in, smirking.
“Even if you were a woman, I still wouldn’t accept you. Okay?”
Vallrick dramatically collapsed, pretending to sob, while SexyBloom giggled at the ridiculous scene.
Broken smirked slightly as he watched Vallrick’s dramatic plea unfold.
Honestly, he didn’t mind the idea of inviting the guy into his alliance. Whether it was as part of Vensalor Outriders or even the main guild, Vallrick had the skills to be valuable.
But for now—
He didn’t see it as urgent. More than anything, he wanted to observe Vallrick a little longer during this journey.
The assassin was definitely hiding something—something bigger than what he let on.
Yet, at the same time…
He didn’t seem untrustworthy. At least, not on the surface.
But then—
On the other side of the room, a shift in atmosphere occurred.
The Vensalor Outriders members suddenly began gathering, their expressions eager with anticipation.
Up on a small stage in the center of the room, Mizuki stepped forward, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
“It’s time for a horror story about the ocean!” she announced.
The entire room fell silent.
This was a tradition—a time where sailors and explorers shared their most terrifying encounters from the open sea.
Across the table, SexyBloom stiffened.
“C-Can I log out now?” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
But before she could even move, SexyGrill instantly grabbed her arm, holding her in place.
“You stay!” she said firmly, her smirk widening.
