Roy had killed the two beasts in less than five seconds. He killed them so fast that the others had no chance of helping him. The mages and the twins were so lacking that the monster’s movements were a blur in their eyes. Not just the monster’s, but also Roy’s.

Roy silently turned to them, his hardened face melting down into a soft-hearted expression. He didn’t want to show them his angry or murderous face.

‘Their stats are too low. I lack eternal weeds to purify my beast cores. Or else I would have long pushed their stats to the limits of an unawakened. There were no eternal weeds in the county. Maybe I will find some on my way to the capital.’

Roy had the idea of increasing their strength using his secret method. It’s not like he didn’t recognize the value of the core purifying method or that he wasn’t greedy or selfless. It’s just that they were his only friends and family in this world, and he wanted them to have enough strength to survive the upcoming disaster and overcome whatever problem they might face in the future.

‘He can even do that with his soul herding ability! What a nice skill!’,

‘What does he dare not do? We are downright crazy. It isn’t wrong to call us battle maniacs that like causing destruction just because we can. But he… he is the most craziest bastard the Baldwins have ever seen!’

Seeing how easily he had subdued the second winged-beast, Arlo and Delilah felt amazed.

They were able to keep up with his and the beasts’ movements, but they didn’t move to help him because he didn’t need their help. They could tell that without needing to think twice.

Maya’s eyes lit up when she saw how Roy took it down, and she exclaimed, “He killed it without even turning around to look at it! How did he do that? Does he have eyes on his back? AHH! He’s so cool!!”

“He intentionally didn’t turn to the monster so as to bait it into his attack range and take it down in one blow. He is around our age but already so scheming. I can learn a lot from him.”

Roy had once again succeeded in impressing Aydin.

A wave of excitement rose up in Julian’s heart, and he beamed, “He’s my friend. Of course, he is more cool and dashing than any other unawakened!”

Roy raised his hand, signaling them to be on alert. This wasn’t the time to be talking. His sixth sense was tingling.

“There’s still one more. I can sense it.”

They moved away from the trees and the last pile of snow and huddled closer, anxiously looking to their left and to their right.

Roy’s scrutinizing gaze also swept across the area before stopping on the last pile of snow that was between two trees.

“I see,” Roy’s lips curled into a scheming smile, and he put his hands behind his back. “So… that’s where it has been hiding.”

Fifty wisps of mana danced out of his palm, and intertwined with one another. Swirling and twirling, they condensed into the shape of a rotating blue sphere. Nobody knew that Roy had created a weapon similar to a modern world hand grenade.

『Giant Mana Blast has been created』

“I got you now!” While exclaiming that, he swung a hand forward.

“Whoosh!” The blue sphere left his side and whizzed towards the pile of snow at what could only be described as a ridiculous speed. It appeared before the trees and the snow pile in an instant and exploded.

“Boom!”

The resounding reverberation of the explosion had only started to spread out when an ear-piercing screech deafened it.

『Ding! A mana blast exploded on a level 18 winged monster, injuring it. It’s a boss type monster. It lost 200 HP. The blood loss debuff has been applied to it. It will lose 10 HP every minute.

『Winged Monster’s Remaining HP: 600 HP』

The ten-meter tall and three-meter wide pile of snow and also the thick and tall trees were destroyed by the explosion, revealing a baffled and injured predator.

It looked like it was in a daze.

A second later, bewilderment replaced whatever it was feeling.

“How… human… how did you pinpoint… my location?” A garish voice sounded. It came from the beast that stepped out from behind the tree.

How did Roy detect it? Was he omniscient? Well, he wasn’t.

Roy’s sixth sense would tingle when he was endangered. It was eyeing him so ferociously and murderously, how could it escape his notice? With just a little bit of thinking, he determined where it was.

“How?” Roy scoffed, “Why would I share my secrets with you? It looks like although you’re smart enough to speak our language, you are still a big fool!”

“You dare make fun of me?!”

The beast roared, creating winds so strong that Roy’s hair fluttered.

“The monster is able to talk!” Maya’s eyes widened.

“Is it an aura beast? Only aura beasts have the capability to understand and comprehend human speech and communicate with us!” Aydin grabbed her hand. She was dragged all the way back to the bald man. He did that to preserve her life.

An aura beast wasn’t something they could defend against.

Only an aura grandmaster like Arlo could fight it.

“No, it’s not an aura beast. It’s old for sure. Its intelligence is also praiseworthy. But it’s still a few steps away from becoming an aura beast.”

With these words, Arlo dissipated the cloud of worry blurring their minds.

The beast didn’t approach them.

Roy looked at it and laughed, “Yeah, what are you going to do about it?”

Its HP was dropping by the minute. Roy was stalling for time intentionally. How could it not understand that? It was the chief of the Kirali Clan, also called the Moon Reapers. It was no fool!
