“I’m ready!” Leonardo took a deep breath and nodded forcefully, but his voice trembled slightly.

The cabin door opened, and the hurricane whipped up by the helicopter blades raised his hair, fluttering wildly in the gale.

Bi Fang tightened Leonardo’s safety harness to his own body and shouted, “Don’t worry, there are over a million trees beneath us in the canopy; there’s simply no open space suitable for landing.”

“If we’re lucky, our parachutes will get tangled up in the treetops. But don’t worry, knowing how to conduct jungle infiltration missions is a fundamental course for special forces, and I have a certain understanding of it.”

“What if we’re not lucky? What will happen then?” Leonardo looked at the jungle beneath, his legs going soft, and he asked loudly.

Bi Fang laughed heartily, “Then we’ll get skewered by the branches!”

Leonardo thought he must have misheard.

But before he could ask any more questions, a tremendous pull came from behind, violently yanking him out of the cabin.

Three drones filed out in succession, following closely behind, capturing every angle with their 360-degree, no-blind-spot filming.

WHAT?

The next second, Leonardo watched in horror as he left the cabin. Then a strong centrifugal force hit him face-on, starting with his nose, then his feet, and finally his thighs.

The sky was filled with blue and white, passing through the wind and clouds, with endless roaring in his ears.

Freefall!

“FCUK! I wasn’t ready yet!”

Leonardo’s heartbeat accelerated instantly, sweat poured out of his palms, his nerves were on edge, his eyes shut tight, and his voice completely deformed.

“What?” Bi Fang couldn’t hear clearly because of the loud wind.

“I wasn’t ready yet!”

“But you said you were ready!” Bi Fang was taken aback but quickly smiled again, “No matter, it’s all the same now! Don’t be afraid, enjoy it all!”

“Take deep breaths! Embrace the sky!”

Bi Fang’s infectious laughter gradually eased Leonardo’s tension. Leonardo wanted to say something else, but Bi Fang adjusted their center of gravity and pushed Leonardo underneath him.

The fierce airstream gushed straight into Leonardo’s mouth, sending all his words back.

Their position was interesting—not the traditional way of skydiving, facing the same direction, but back to back, one facing down, the other inevitably up.

In that moment, Leonardo had much to say, his ears and nostrils filled with air, making it difficult to breathe.

Eventually, all he could say was: “M*******K!”

[The man with the ultimate freedom on earth!]

[Bliss!]

[Damn, why am I head down? I can’t even get the grass skirt to flare up.]

Their descent was very fast, close to two hundred kilometers per hour, which is about fifty-five meters per second!

After a dozen seconds, Leonardo forced his eyes open, his blood coursing faster in his veins, his body growing hot.

He finally realized he was flying!

And because it was happening at high altitude, everything around seemed stationary, the howling wind aside; it wasn’t as terrifying as he had imagined.

Only the blue and white sky remained, and the verdant green earth below.

His eyes became greedy, wanting to see more and more, to imprint it all in his mind, to preserve this moment’s emotion, to breathe deeply, to feel the altitude.

But in the next moment, Bi Fang adjusted their center of gravity again, turned his head to look at the earth, and after calculating the distance, he yanked the parachute cord hard.

A massive pull quickly hoisted their torsos, and Leonardo nearly blacked out.

The world became quiet.

The roaring sound disappeared completely, and they were suspended above the earth.

Carrying a person, obviously, Bi Fang couldn’t perform a low-altitude parachute operation, so he opened the chute at eight hundred meters, gliding smoothly downward.

Bi Fang pressed a button and explained, “To land smoothly, we need to give the parachute a certain angle of inclination, giving it a horizontal speed, so the probability of being skewered decreases significantly. We will brush past tree trunks and then hang on a tree.”

Leonardo clutched the shoulder straps tightly, watching as he constantly hurtled toward the large trees.

This wasn’t a movie; it was vivid reality.

Appreciation for beauty was completely gone, leaving only fear behind.

Leonardo leaned back forcefully and shouted, “Are you really sure you want to crash into it?”

Bi Fang gave a thumbs up, “Yes, trust me, I’m a professional!”

[In the field of risking one’s life, I’ve never been outdone!]

[Adventure? ×, Risking one’s life? √]

[Never believe a word that comes out of Master Fang’s mouth]

[Leonardo: So why did I even think of coming here in the first place?]

The tree canopy grew closer and closer, and Bi Fang shouted, “Be careful, hold on tight!”

The massive canopy flooded into Leonardo’s field of vision as his pupils constricted, his entire body subconsciously curling up, eyes tightly shut.

The next moment, Leonardo was wracked with sharp pain as thin branches scraped viciously against his bare face and arms, and he finally understood why Bi Fang had insisted on wearing jackets in the hot rainforest.

Branches snapped incessantly, startling a flock of Asuka that fled toward the sky.

Just as Leonardo felt it was all over, the remaining branches cracked loudly, breaking completely and falling to the ground, the sensation of weightlessness returning.

“F**K!” Leonardo screamed in agony, feeling his thighs tightly constricted. He opened his eyes and, sure enough, found himself hanging from a tree.

“Wu Hu!” Bi Fang opened his eyes, surveyed the surroundings, and said calmly, “It seems we’re in luck and didn’t get skewered by the branches.”

Leonardo held his forehead with his hand, “I feel absolutely terrible.”

He finally understood why, at the last moment before the crash, Bi Fang had adjusted their center of gravity to place him in front. Seeing that there were no scratches on Bi Fang’s body was telling.

“Haha, but it was really thrilling, wasn’t it? Did you feel a warmth in your lower abdomen? That’s your adrenaline secreting!”

Leonardo paused, then couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, a little, but just a little bit.”

“Trust me, you’ll come to like this feeling.”

“The urgent matter now is how we’re going to get down.”

“Indeed,” Bi Fang stopped joking and observed the surroundings. In fact, he had already scanned the area to ensure there was no danger. It would have been troublesome if they encountered a snake on the tree like in his first live broadcast.

The giant canopy overhead blocked out the sun; almost all sunlight was obscured, with dense branches all around. Not just above them, but below as well, the ground was invisible.

They were awkwardly situated in the middle of the canopy.

And had no idea how high up from the ground they were.

[It’s so dark, claustrophobia is kicking in]

[I feel weirdly safe in this space]

[It would be fun if a snake suddenly appeared]

[This time Master Fang would really be barbecued!]

Leonardo observed the surroundings, swinging his legs: “I feel like we’re going to be hanging here forever.”

It was impossible to determine how high up they were. If they carelessly descended, Bi Fang might not die; he knew how to protect himself in a fall, and from a height of seven to eight meters, he would be unscathed—but Leonardo would be done for.

“Don’t worry,” Bi Fang grabbed a nearby branch, pointing to its leaves and to the trunk amid the foliage. “This tree has triangular ovate leaves, the texture is like leather, the surface is a shiny deep green, the reverse is green, and they come to a point at their tips, extending into a tail shape.

If I’m not mistaken, this should be a Bodhi Tree. We’re in luck; this is the very tree under which The Buddha attained enlightenment over 2000 years ago.”

Leonardo said with interest, “Then our luck is really good.”

“This kind of tree can grow to about fifteen to twenty-five meters high. We can guess how thick the main trunk is by looking through the gaps in the leaves.”

That high?

The audience was surprised. Didn’t that mean Bi Fang and the others were at least ten meters above ground?

Leonardo turned his head and pondered for a bit, “Close to twenty inches, right?”

“Yes, nearly half a meter. This tree is quite thick,” Bi Fang felt a sudden surge in his heart.

Undoubtedly, the higher a tree grows, the thinner its main trunk becomes, but they were already over ten meters high, and the trunk was still close to half a meter?

“Our height might be over twenty meters,” Bi Fang looked down and estimated.
