Chapter 87

When Jun Zishu regained consciousness, she found that she was sitting in Shi Yu’s car.

Shi Yu spent most of his time on the road and taking pictures of places that caught his attention. He would also take on commissions from time to time, taking photos for people.

The car moved steadily on the flat public road, the lyrical voice of a female singer echoing in the car.

When Jun Zishu opened her eyes, what greeted her was the bright blue sky.

[Host! You’re finally awake!]

Did anything happen to me?

[Everything’s fine. Apart from when he tried to drown you, he didn’t do anything excessive.]

Jun Zishu’s mouth twitched when she heard Little Fairy’s words, her mind questioning her little companion’s definition of “fine.”

What time is it now?

[It is currently 1.27 PM on the 15th of February.]

Shi Yu immediately noticed that Jun Zishu had regained consciousness the moment she opened her eyes, and his body subconsciously stiffened as she observed Jun Zishu’s reaction.

Initially, he thought Jun Zishu would yell at him, question him, react angrily, or even worse. However, after opening her eyes, Jun Zishu simply stared at the sky outside the window, seemingly in thought.

One song ended, and another one began. The same female singer sang the new song but in a more lively tune. However, despite the lively song echoing in the car, the atmosphere in the car felt strangely silent.

After Jun Zishu was done with her thoughts, she first tried to wrestle with the rope tying her hands together. Then, after failing to remove her restraints, she asked in a helpless tone, “Where are you taking me to?”

“I’m taking you to somewhere beautiful. This time, we’ll be going there together.”

Shi Yu seemed to be in terrible shape as his voice sounded hoarse, and his eyes were red.

Compared to Shi Yu, Jun Zishu, the person in the role of the kidnapped, looked much more composed.

“Firstly, what you’re doing is illegal. I have only taken one day off from the hospital, and this is already the second day. The hospital’s surveillance must’ve captured you and me as well. Once someone lodges a police report, you’ll become a wanted man. Secondly, I am very unhappy.

“Shi Yu, you have truly disappointed me.”

Jun Zishu remained strangely calm as she spoke. Even her supposed anger seemed very shallow.

Yet, when Shi Yu looked into Jun Zishu’s clear and cold eyes, he found himself at a loss on what to do.

Suddenly, the sound of the car harshly braking appeared. Then, after the car came to a halt, Shi Yu leaned against the steering wheel and gasped for air.

“Have you ever considered your parents? What will they think once they find out that you have become a wanted criminal?

“You will constantly feel uneasy if you try to run away with me. You will also lose many, many things.”

Jun Zishu continued speaking calmly, her every word stirring Shi Yu’s heart.

“I will kill you, then,” Shi Yu said, his voice sounding as if he had squeezed it out of his throat. The agony in his voice was also clearly transmitted.

“Shi Yu, your behavior will make me think that you are eight years old rather than twenty-eight. Are you so childish as to destroy something you cannot obtain?”

Jun Zishu laughed, causing the atmosphere in the car to grow depressing.

“Are you not scared?” Shi Yu asked in confusion.

“Why should I be scared? Rather than being scared, I’m surprised. I used to think that you were a gentleman.”

“Are you so certain that I won’t harm you?”

“No.” Jun Zishu smiled and shook her head. Then, she looked out the window, her eyes looking into the distance as she said, “After getting used to seeing people coming and going, I have grown to accept death much more easily, even if the way of my departure isn’t to my liking.”

Jun Zishu had already received official employment. So, even if she failed her mission, she would simply have worked for nothing this time. Not to mention, she also had one chance to restart her mission.

Thus, Jun Zishu had no reason to be afraid of death.

Of course, while she could accept death, that didn’t mean she was willing to die if she could prevent it.

Meanwhile, when dealing with a yandere that had gone off track, it was best not to fight crazy with crazy.

So long as she behaved calmly, Shi Yu would behave calmly as well.

“Do you hate me? Do you hate my current self?” Shi Yu asked as he looked at Jun Zishu, his lips trembling as he spoke.

“If I did what you did to me, would you hate me?”

“Maybe…”

Maybe, or maybe not.

Shi Yu stepped on the accelerator, and the car sped forward in a roar.

[Host, what is he…]

Little Fairy panicked as she watched the car moving faster and faster.

Who knows? This division’s employees must have…really good tolerance if they haven’t jumped ship to another division.

Jun Zishu originally thought Shi Yu wanted to crash the car, killing her and himself. However, after a while, the car gradually slowed down as it entered a populated area.

“I’m hungry. Get me something to eat,” Jun Zishu demanded when she saw a mini-market. She behaved nothing like a person who was kidnapped. Then, when she saw the hesitant look on Shi Yu’s face, she added, “I’m already in such a state, so how am I supposed to escape? I won’t be able to run away so long as you lock the car, so hurry up.”

Jun Zishu’s behavior was too calm, and her tone was too commanding. After wiping his face with his hand, Shi Yu parked the car and killed the engine. Then, he removed the key and left the car.

Would Jun Zishu escape? Of course, if given the conditions.

The driver’s seat’s window was partially opened, so Jun Zishu saw that as her way out.

After having Little Fairy stay on the lookout for her, Jun Zishu bent down and untied the rope binding her legs. The rope restraining her hands was coarse, so the movement of her hands caused it to brush and scrape off her skin, creating a painful sight.

[Good luck, Host!]

After untying her legs, Jun Zishu gritted her teeth as she twisted her hands around and untied the knot of the rope tying her hands.

Little Fairy involuntarily shuddered when she saw Jun Zishu’s actions. Just looking at Jun Zishu’s wrists gave her the chills.

Afterward, under Little Fairy’s prompt, Jun Zishu grabbed her handbag from the backseat and removed all the excessive clothing on her. Then, she climbed over to the driver’s seat and desperately squeezed her way through the partially opened window.

However, Shi Yu had already returned with bread and water in his hands. After Jun Zishu fell to the ground, she ignored her aching body as she quickly stood up and met eyes with Shi Yu.

“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t run away?”

“Only a fool would choose to stay,” Jun Zishu said as she licked her lips and unlocked the phone in her hand.

“It’s useless. Your SIM card is with me,” Shi Yu said with a cold expression.

“I don’t need a SIM card to call the emergency number.”

“Wentong,” Shi Yu called out, his eyes muddled with gloom as he looked at Jun Zishu.

“Do you know what will happen to you if I call the police? Attempted assault. If I’m willing, I can even accuse you of attempted rape,” Jun Zishu said. “However, even after you go to prison, I won’t hate you.”

Shi Yu was stunned by Jun Zishu’s last sentence.

“I’d have to remember you if I hate you. I’d rather forget you in that case.”

Jun Zishu smiled. However, unlike her usual gentle smile, this smile carried malicious intent.

Then, Jun Zishu raised a hand and gave Shi Yu a vicious slap. The sound of the slap was so loud that even Little Fairy felt her face hurt from hearing it.

“Are you awake now?

“Do you know the consequences of your actions?

“You want to die with me? You want to kill me? I know better than you how to make a person suffer a fate worse than death. My skill with the knife is much more precise than you, and I know better than you the weaknesses of the human body.”

The smile on Jun Zishu’s face grew wider, yet her voice sounded as calm as ever. And even though she looked to be in a miserable state, the aura she exuded as she looked at Shi Yu was incredibly imposing.

“I admit that I am at fault for breaking up with you and falling out of love with you. However, what you did to me has also made me feel very uncomfortable.

“You have two choices to make right now, Shi Yu. You can continue trying to take me away against my will while I scream for help, run away, call the police, send you to prison, find myself another man, and forget about you.”

Shi Yu tightly clenched his fists, causing the bread packaging in his right hand to explode with a boom.

“Or, we can separate here, and I will remember how well you have treated me in the past.

“I don’t wish to ruin you, Shi Yu. However, I also don’t wish for you to ruin me.”

Shi Yu stood still in silence for a long time. Then, he hesitantly asked, “Can we really not…”

“I ask you to think from my perspective. Do you think that’s possible?

“Give me back my SIM card.”

Jun Zishu stretched out her hand and demanded her SIM card back.

However, after seeing Shi Yu remaining motionless, Jun Zishu retracted her hand and said, “So be it. Here, take this back.”

After saying so, Jun Zishu removed the ring on her ring finger and tried to give it to Shi Yu.

However, Shi Yu did not receive it, so Jun Zishu placed it on the ground.

“Goodbye.” And let’s not see each other again.

Jun Zishu started making her way to the mini-market while constantly paying attention to the movement behind her. That way, she would at least be prepared if Shi Yu tried to attack her again.

However, Shi Yu didn’t attack Jun Zishu. Instead, he crouched down and let go of the bottled water and bread in his hands. Then, he picked up the ring on the ground.

Sometimes, it was much crueler to forget someone than to hate someone.

A yandere would have a much more difficult time accepting a “Who are you?” than an “I hate you.”

Jun Zishu breathed out a sigh of relief when she finally arrived inside the mini-market. It would seem that the move she made this time was the correct one.

Little Fairy, delete all information relating to No. 2, 3, 4, and 5 on that SIM card. If Shi Yu inserts that card into another phone, intercept all incoming and outgoing calls. Make sure to notify me as well if he tries to call someone.

[Roger!]

Doing this much was child’s play for a Little Fairy.

Meanwhile, the shopkeeper was given a scare when she saw Jun Zishu entering the store. In a concerned voice, she asked, “Did you come across a bad guy, Miss?”

“Everything’s fine now. Do you have wifi here?”

“Yes, there it is,” the shopkeeper said as she pointed at the wifi password labeled on the wall behind her.

After thanking the shopkeeper, Jun Zishu connected to the store’s wifi and found her WeChat exploding with messages.

The first person Jun Zishu replied to was her department head in the hospital.

Her department head had asked why she was absent from work and if she had come across some trouble.

In response, Jun Zishu told him that she had been robbed and suffered some light injuries. She also said that she wouldn’t be working today and that she could only go tomorrow.

As for the messages sent by No.2, No.3, No.5, and a few of her colleagues, Jun Zishu chose to ignore them for now.

Afterward, Jun Zishu opened her conversation window with Yun Zizhou. The girl had similarly asked about Jun Zishu’s situation and why her calls couldn’t get through.

Jiang Wentong: I’m fine. I’ll be back in the evening.

Jun Zishu sent a simple reply.

Yun Zizhou: That’s good. Where are you now? You weren’t answering any of my calls. I thought you got into an accident.

Yun Zizhou’s reply came in less than a minute.

Jiang Wentong: I’m fine. I only lost my SIM card, so don’t worry.

After seeing this explanation, the gloom on Yun Zizhou’s face faded slightly.
