Chapter 959: Final Trump Card

'When I saw him deal actual damage to the Void Rabbit with his skills, I thought it was a fluke at first.'

With her eyes fixated on the young man's movements, Sellifer watched as the fight between the two gradually moved into Valyr's favor.

Utilizing the plethora of skills and techniques he had under his arsenal, he was able to consistently deal damage to the Void Rabbit.

At the same time, he increased the number of opportunities he gave himself to deal damage to the Void Rabbit, making use of all the debuffs that were inflicted alongside some of his skills.

'But now I've realized,' Sellifer thought to herself, watching Valyr strike the Void Rabbit's head once more with one of his skills.

'Even if he doesn't make use of his arquebus, or if he doesn't have access to that peculiar skill of his...'

'Valyr still has the necessary strength to fight against Myth-level beings and end up victorious.'

Thinking these words to herself, Sellifer realized that it might seem absurd for one to think that a being at the peak of Rank 3 had the capability to fight against a being that was on another realm altogether and still have the advantage.

Yet, Valyr was that being of absurdity that made it a reality, relying on his skills, equipment, and his deep knowledge of combat to turn things to his favor.

'Then again, compared to a true Myth-level being, Valyr is still lacking in many ways,' thought Sellifer to herself not long after, feeling the strength of the Void Rabbit beginning to

wane.

'After all, he has to rely on a certain set of skills in order to unleash that kind of power. With how long those skills remain on cooldown, he would probably only be able to fight against Myth-level beings in a 1 on 1 scenario.'

'But that's more than enough, especially for someone like Valyr,' she continued her thoughts, letting out a faint sigh of admiration for the young man.

'I'm sure it won't take long for Valyr to occupy an important position, especially once they find out what he's truly capable of.'

'Even more so once he ascends to the last couple ranks of mortality.'

At this point, Sellifer's doubts about Valyr's strength had all but dissipated.

Instead, she felt immense pride in the fact that she had allowed a talented being like Valyr to inherit the energy she had created, becoming a great influence to the young man's path to higher power.

With that, she greatly smiled once she saw Valyr land his finishing blow, feeling part of the Void World connect with his spear as all of that force landed squarely on the rabbit's head. Bang!

Looking at the crimson six-digit number that appeared above the rabbit's head, Sellifer realized then and there that she was witnessing history in the making, the prelude to the meteoric rise of an incredibly talented young man.

Seeing the young man turn to look at her with proud smile, Sellifer responded back by giving a smile of her own, her expression showing the young man how happy she was that he'd been successful in defeating the Void Rabbit.

Whoosh!

Whilst the two were looking at each other, she noticed that the young man's aura weakened all of a sudden, prompting her to look at the young man in slight fear.

In response, Valyr gave her a reassuring gaze, more or less allowing her to fill in the blanks that it was the side effect of one of his skills.

'In any case, it's finally over,' Sellifer thought to herself, feeling like there was not much point in pushing the young man any further than this fight.

Thinking about having Valyr return to the first way he fought against the Void Rabbits, the woman was about to tell Valyr to take some rest, only for her pupils to dilate in fear as she felt the aura of the Void Rabbit surge once more.

"Squeak..."

Unsurprisingly, as someone at the peak of Rank 3, it took longer for Valyr to realize what was going on, only understanding the current situation after hearing a low squeak resound from behind him.

Bang!

Turning around to look at the opponent he thought he'd already killed, Valyr was instead greeted by the sight of the Void Rabbit having stood up on its own four feet once more. Then, as he let out a curse, he was sent flying into the air as the rabbit sent out a strike that contained all of the anger built up within its body.

Seeing how Valyr's condition immediately turned critical just from the rabbit's strike, Sellifer immediately threw caution to the wind as she made use of her Divine-level energy to affix the Void Rabbit in place.

At the same time, she began to infuse a bit of her energy into the flying young man, allowing Valyr to regain some of the health he'd lost from the attack.

"This wasn't supposed to happen," murmured Sellifer to herself, feeling a hint of guilt from the fact that the young man's current state was originally caused by her having doubts with his strength.

Staring at the Void Rabbit as she flared a portion of her aura at it, the Void Rabbit immediately shrunk in fear, wanting nothing more than to flee away from the premises and never come

back again.

However, with Sellifer making use of her energy to have it remain stuck in place, the Void Rabbit wouldn't be able to leave its place no matter how much it tried.

Continuing to intimidate the Void Rabbit with a hint of her aura, she then made her way towards where Valyr landed, letting out a wide sigh of relief after seeing that the energy she'd infused had cushioned the fall for him.

At the same time, the energy she infused allowed Valyr to move away from the near-critical state he was originally in, gradually replenishing his health bit by bit.

"I was careless." Seeing Sellifer appear before him, Valyr immediately looked at her with a bitter smile. "I should've maintained vigilance."

"It's not your fault." Sellifer shook her head, feeling her killing intent towards the Void Rabbit intensify whenever she looked at the young man before her.

Though the rabbit's strike seemed innocent to an outsider, it was anything but to Valyr, more or less turning the armor the young man wore into scrap metal.

Not only that, but some of the metal that had broken off from his armor had embedded themselves into the young man's skin, turning Valyr into quite the bloody sight.

"It's my fault," Sellifer told Valyr, causing the latter to look at her with slightly widened eyes. "I should've identify the strength of your opponent more clearly."

Then, with a low sigh, she continued, "If only I hadn't doubted your strength at first, perhaps this wouldn't have happened."

"Don't be like that." Seeing that he had regained some of his lost mana reserves, Valyr went ahead and activated [Advanced Heal] and [Advanced Regeneration], increasing the speed at

which he regained health.

Taking out the metal pieces that were embedded in his body from the attack with his energy, Valyr then stored all of those pieces into his spatial bracelet as he gradually got up.

Briefly taking a look at himself, the young man eventually had a wry smile on his face, which immediately disappeared the moment he let out a long exhale.

"Even though you doubted my strength, it's still me that decided to continue with your tests," said Valyr, hoping that his words would alleviate some of her guilt. "In fact, even I didn't expect myself to get this far, especially after I saw how strong this Void Rabbit was."

"But just like the two previous fights you had me take, I plan to end this one with my own two hands as well." At these words, Valyr began to move towards the restrained Void Rabbit, only to be stopped by Sellifer.

"You don't have to do this anymore." Sellifer looked at him in the eyes, her gaze now that of slight concern. "You've already shown yourself to be more than capable of defeating a Myth- level being. I'll take care of this one for you."

"There's no need to," replied Valyr with a chuckle, taking out a certain item from his spatial bracelet after that. "After all, I have yet to use my final trump card at times like these."

"The arquebus..." Looking at the weapon Valyr was now wielding, Sellifer's expression turned solemn as she closed her eyes for a bit.

Then, opening it sometime later, she let out a low exhale. "Let me bind it in place for you at the very least. Even if it's just to alleviate some of the guilt I feel."

"..." Staring at Sellifer for a bit after that, the young man eventually shook his head with a wry

smile.

"Suit yourself." Then, with a shrug of his shoulders, he began to head towards where the Void Rabbit was trapped, preparing the arquebus for what would be the final shot to end the fight.

Going through the motions of arming the weapon, Valyr also went ahead and took out a couple of health and mana potions from his spatial bracelet, returning his reserves to somewhat better conditions.

"It's a shame that I've run out of Prime Azure Energy," murmured the young man to himself, taking a brief look at his current state through his status screen. "But no matter."

"I'll just have to even the playing field one last time."

Taking on a more leisurely pace compared to before, Valyr eventually arrived before the Void Rabbit, briefly staring at it as it was trapped in a cage of Azure Energy.

Feeling its opponent's presence appear before it, the fear the Void Rabbit felt towards Sellifer had disappeared, instead being replaced with the emotion of shock and anger as it could not believe that Valyr had survived its deadly strike.

Understanding the look in the rabbit's eyes, Valyr let out a faint chuckle in response as he took

out a fiery blade from his spatial bracelet.

"[Primeval Immolation]."

Fwoosh!

Swinging the blade of pure flames upward, those flames soon engulfed Valyr's entire body,

more or less canceling out the debuff he gained after [Descent of the True Wyvern] had run

out.

Feeling his strength return to a level halfway to what he considered his peak, the young man inwardly nodded in satisfaction as he aimed the arquebus towards the Void Rabbit's head.

"[Extended Charge]."

Infusing mana into the arquebus, Valyr allowed the weapon to reach its full potential as he took a look at the rabbit's remaining health with the help of [Superior Analysis].

Ding!

HP: 100,000/1,392,120

"Well, it could be worse." Seeing that the Void Rabbit had only recovered a small portion of

its health after seemingly dying once, Valyr inwardly let out a sigh of relief as he recalled his fights with the quadrant leaders in the inheritance.

Feeling the arquebus reach the limits of what it could handle, the young man then took in a

deep breath, looking at the Void Rabbit one last time.

"You've been quite the formidable foe," said the young man, slowly pulling on the arquebus'

trigger.

"But ultimately..."

"You should've died in the first place."

"[Grand Burst]!"

Bang!

'-410,375!!!'
