Chapter 975: Small Talk with Julian

"Whew."

Placing the Hammer of Beginnings back into his spatial bracelet, Valyr wiped the sweat off his forehead as he turned his head to look at the pile of weapons he'd forged over the past week or

so.

"Even though I've already forged 100 weapons in total, I still feel like I could forge around 20 more weapons before really feeling tired," said the young man to himself, chuckling as he felt pride while admiring each weapon he made one by one.

At the same time, he thought about how long he'd been up this time around, finding it somewhat surprising that he didn't feel any hint of lethargy yet. "I may have lasted a week before, but I was definitely pushing it that time."

"In comparison, I still feel like I could go another day or two before feeling sleepy," muttered Valyr to himself as he thought out loud. "I guess this is an additional side effect to becoming a High Human."

Though it seemed like Valyr had told Julian to increase his quota to 100 weapons because he knew what a High Human was capable of, the young man actually did it because of the opposite.

He wanted to know what a High Human was capable of.

And unsurprisingly, a High Human was able to do a lot more.

From the amount of stamina he had, to the level of dexterity and craftsmanship he'd put into every weapon he forged, Valyr felt that all of them had undergone a drastic change now that he was a High Human.

Then again, aside from his evolution as a High Human, there was one other thing that helped him out during the forging process, reducing his forging time per weapon by a considerable degree.

"[Defiance of a Thousand Aspirations]."

Ding!

Activating his racial skill, Valyr heard the system respond by sending out a notification sound, prompting a screen containing text to appear before him not long after.

[Calculating your total base stats...]

[Converting a portion of your base stats into Points of Aspiration...]

[You currently have 328 Points of Aspiration. 328 of these points have been currently allocated towards the DEX stat. Would you like to reallocate your Points of Aspiration?]

"Allocate half of my points on AGI." Looking at his screen for a bit in contemplation, Valyr eventually responded to the question. "Have the remaining half remain on DEX." Ding!

[Your Points of Aspiration has been reallocated.]

[164 of your points have been allocated to the AGI stat.]

[164 of your points have been allocated to the DEX stat.]

Faintly nodding in satisfaction after receiving a response from the system, Valyr soon felt some of the strength in his body head towards a specific part, making him feel as if his body had become lighter than before.

While he was in the midst of adjusting to his newly reallocated stats, Julian arrived at his workshop with a slightly doubtful expression on his face. "You really forged 100 weapons in just a week?"

Remembering the immense disbelief Julian had the first time he forged 50 weapons in less than half a week, Valyr merely let out a chuckle as he pointed at the pile of weapons he'd made beside the anvil. "Would this be enough proof for you?"

Shifting his gaze towards where the young man was pointing, the middle-aged man immediately went silent as he moved closer to the pile of newly-forged weapons.

Utilizing his identification skill to look at the weapons in detail, Julian gradually went through each and every weapon, eventually prompting him to look at Valyr with a hint of awe in his eyes.

"Even though you've already shown me how you're able to do it, it still astounds me that you could do so much in such a short amount of time," said Julian after a bit of silence, letting out a slightly tired sigh.

"Once again, thank you for helping out on the war efforts, Valyr." Closing his eyes for a bit, Julian soon looked at Valyr directly in the eye, only to send a message to one of the guild's staff members to haul away the weapons the latter forged.

"You should really get some rest now," said the man to Valyr after that. "I don't know how your eyes still aren't on the verge of closing, but let the Blacksmith Guild handle this part." "You could fulfill another quota once you think you're ready enough to do so."

"Alright." Though he felt confident enough to do another 50 weapon quota even though he'd just finished making 100 weapons in a row, Valyr decided to follow Julian's advice for the meantime as he nodded.

However, before leaving the workshop for good, the young man felt that now was the right time to ask Julian about the other topics he hadn't talked about in their previous conversation. "Say, Julian." Taking a few steps out of his workshop, Valyr looked back at Julian. "You still have the remaining money I've gotten from that auction, right?"

"I do." Briefly raising his eyebrows in curiosity, Julian soon nodded in response. "After buying that Wyvern Core you asked me to buy, as well as that small task involving that companion of yours, what was originally 30 platinum cards is now down to 8 platinum cards."

"I see." Mulling over Julian's words for a bit, Valyr eventually voiced out the idea he had in mind. "Would 8 platinum cards be enough to get myself a sizable plot of land?"

"It depends on the actual size, as well as the location of the land," replied Julian, nodding not long after. "But if your criteria isn't pretty strict, then it's more than enough to get one. Why do you ask?"

"I plan on using that land to establish a forge, as well as an actual place to live for me and my companions," said Valyr in response after pondering over his words for a bit, omitting all of the other reasons he had in mind as to why he wanted it.

"After all, even though the Imperial Production Guild hasn't kicked me out from staying in that inn they gave me, it feels awkward to still be making use of their goodwill up to this

day."

Listening to his words, Julian went silent for a bit, closing his eyes before opening up a screen to message a few things to someone.

After interacting with his screen for a while, the man eventually looked back at Valyr and said, "I've gotten a friend of mine to help you out with that request of yours."

"It might take him a few days to find places under your budget since we're still in the war, but let me assure you that he won't disappoint you once you see his selection."

"And before you say anything, it's the least I can do for what you've contributed to the guild so far," said Julian at the end, interrupting Valyr before the young man could even say thanks

to him. "So, anything else you need my help with before getting some rest?" Letting out a bit of laughter as he noticed the slightly dumbfounded expression on Valyr's face, Julian decided to ask the latter this question, getting the feeling that he still had more to ask.

"Well... there is one thing that's been on my mind for quite some time..." said Valyr after a bit of contemplation, recalling his return from the inheritance over a couple weeks ago.

"What is it?" Julian asked back.

"What happened to the orc I brought along with me back then?"
