Chapter 4401: Damn Host II

Crack!

"It is like any other shield. As long as there is enough power, it will break," it said with a grin and attacked again with even greater power.

The attack scared me. It is more powerful than the previous one and capable of creating multiple small cracks.

His sabre clashed against my shield once more, sending a massive ripple of rust.

Earlier, there was only a single small crack, but now several are appearing as the ripple spreads.

I have no answer to that, but I know I must do something, or it will be the end of me.

"Use the third sample," I commanded finally. "We haven’t finished with it. Currently, it consumes 53% more blood essence than the current runes," replied my clone.

"I know, there is no choice," I said as I looked at the sphere, which had now been fully covered in cracks.

There had been a select few people who were able to mess with my shield to this degree when I am powering it with my blood essence.

All of them were monsters.

The clone followed my command, and the runes changed. Most of the formation is the same in them, with a slight change due to this energy.

As the clone had said, it consumes more blood energy. That means I will spend more essence and will be drained quickly, but not doing it would break the shield, and that would be terrible.

Once more, its sabre clashed against the sphere, but this time, no cracks had appeared.

Instead, the cracks around the sphere begin to heal.

It was surprised, and it stopped and looked at the sphere, activating some non-soul scanning method, before turning to me.

"You have increased your defences. It wouldn’t be without cost," he stated.

He is intelligent enough to understand what I did.

"How long will you be able to last with the expanded expenditure?" he asked. "Long enough," I replied, to which he grinned.

"That is some good dream, my friend, you should wake up from it," he said, and a powerful aura exploded out of its body.

A moment later, it had attacked. Seeing it, the graphs around me begin to turn red.

CLANNNNNG!

The sword hit my sphere like a sledgehammer, with such force. My body needed to take several steps back, while I bled from my orifices.

It created a ripple. There were no cracks, but it shouldn’t have even created such a big ripple.

The runes are powerful and take a lot of blood essence, but the attack was powerful enough. It was able to create a ripple in it.

CLANNNNNG CLANNNNNG CLANNNNNG!

The more attacks came, creating ripple after ripple. Forcing me to pour more blood essence into supporting the spear.

It is bad the way I am expanding my essence. If I continue to do that, I won’t be able to last for long.

I have to, because if I didn’t, a fate worse than death awaits me.

I am not just defending myself; I am doing other things that will save me, but so far, they haven’t borne any fruit.

They will or I will die.

It kept attacking, wanting me to spend my blood essence on my defence. I could feel that they are not its strongest attacks, but it is not using them.

I have no doubt in my heart right now that it is the one that made all the monsters crazy.

Another minute passed and my blood essence had reached the critical level, while this bastard is attacking like it didn’t have a care for anything.

Though a moment later, I heard a large clang and felt a powerful shockwave that sent ripples across my sphere.
