“The Luna’s Wolf’s Song?” Innu asked. “What the heck is that, it didn’t sound like any regular howl.”
If anything, the howl was pleasant to the ears, almost something that they could play to fall asleep to, but judging by how Gary and Midwak had picked up the pace, despite Innu and Blake already somewhat struggling to keep with them, was what had made them worry.
“It’s a call.” Midwak answered. “That’s a cry that can be heard from all over the city. All of the werewolves will be making their way here.”
Innu gulped. “Including Lupus.”
“I doubt he’ll come, he will have his hands tied in other business, but we need to get out of here.”
The group continued to follow Midwak, until they had eventually broken out of the green plants and headed on the pathway. They took another pathway that wasn’t clearly paved that would lead to the cabin.
The cabin itself was located around various plants but had a more open area for people to come and go, as some experiments with the plants were even done on the outside.
Up ahead, everyone had stopped for a moment as they could see Ylva standing on top of the fallen cabin. She was fully transformed, breathing in and out. She soon could tell that others had arrived and her head turned into their direction.
“Midwak… and look at this, you brought the leader of the Howlers with you!” Ylva said almost with such joy. “I knew that you would be a big problem, what I didn’t expect Midwak, since you are there with them, did you change? Do you no longer care about being with me?”
Midwak tightened his fists the more she spoke, he had his head down, trying to contain his anger.
“Where’s the body?” Midwak whispered to the others. “Where is your father, tell us so we can get him, and just get out of here.”
“Midwak that’s not very nice, even with a whisper, you know I can hear you.” Ylva claimed. “Honestly I didn’t think you all would be foolish enough to come back because of one man, so I didn’t even move him from his position, somewhere underneath this cabin, he’s here.” She then raised her hand by her ear as if she was trying to hear something.
“But you all better hurry, because I’m not sure he’s going to last much longer, and I’m telling you all now I’m not going to move from this mound.”
Gary readied his position, his legs transforming and part of his arms as well. He was filled with energy, and the main reason for this, was all because of his new class type.
[Abyssal Warlord]
His health pool was triple what it usually was along with the energy, and even with him having ran all over the place his energy was at its max having recovered because of the night sky and the special power he had.
[Shadow Regeneration]
During his fight with the other Ironfang he had noticed it. His energy coming back even after using a skill. It was slower than the energy he was using but it was extremely helpful to him.
“I will deal with Ylva. The rest of you find the body and just get out of here!” Gary claimed. “And Midwak, I haven’t forgotten what I said.”
Finishing that sentence, Gary had charged right ahead crossing the distance between the two of them in a moment, when he sensed something falling from above.
Right in between himself and Ylva. Gary pulled back, and then leant back as the swipe had missed his face completely. Now Gary was able to have a look at what was in front of him—a werewolf—but there was something odd about this one compared to the others.
It was slightly larger in size, and although its eyes were the typical blue color of an omega, it had a white outline. The werewolf took another swipe at Gary to which he avoided, then with his fist he dug it right into the werewolf’s stomach, lifting it off the ground, and then kicked it away off to the side.
The werewolf was seen bouncing off the ground and into the trees.
‘That… werewolf’s hide, I could feel it, it was solider than the other ones I went up against. Not at the level of an Ironfang but…’
The group that had been behind Gary hadn’t moved yet, they were waiting for him to engage with Ylva, and then they could safely search through the rubble.
Gary was ready to explode forward again, but something had caught his nose, and caught his eye. The issue was he didn’t even have time to react to that—bursting out from the trees, the werewolf he had just hit was back on its feet and aiming right for Gary.
It had blood dripping out of its mouth. Gary’s hits were far from soft after consuming some of the top Altered.
Gary moved his head to the side as the claw mark avoided him, and with all of his weight he pounded his fist right into the face of the werewolf. He felt the bones in its snout break as well as the teeth shatter.
The werewolf’s entire body went flying through the air again, it spun and when it landed it still wasn’t knocked out, its body was still moving, almost like a mindless zombie.
‘That’s a scary thought to have, like Zomwolf… or something?’
Midwak knew what it was. The power of the Luna was what was empowering it. The song called everyone over and then the power of the Luna not only increased its strength, but was able to do this to it as well.
Making the werewolf move no matter how injured it was.
However, that wasn’t the large problem they had on their hands.
Gary stared around, and so did Midwak, he looked up.
“We’re too late, how are we even going to get out of this one.”
Blake and Innu looked around, and they could see it, through the trees behind them, and even behind Luna, there were countless werewolves that had arrived all with the same look in their eyes—there had to be at least a hundred of them.
