My Werewolf System

Chapter 1411: Masked Threats and Scattered Wars

Chapter 1411: Masked Threats and Scattered Wars

The sudden appearance of a single Werewolf changed everything for Kanu.

Just moments ago, there had been a sense of control. He could feel the team working in sync, each member of the White Rose group moving with precision, supporting one another with coordination that came only through experience and trust.

They were pacing themselves well, managing the fight intelligently. The forest was full of planned routes and hidden traps they had set up ahead of time, creating safe zones and choke points to slow down and pick off their enemies.

But now, everything shifted.

Everything changed… because of one Werewolf.

“Why the hell is it wearing an iron mask over its snout?” Elijah asked, narrowing his eyes. “Isn’t that just getting rid of one of its weapons?”

“Can’t you see?” Kanu growled. “That’s no ordinary Werewolf.”

Before they could say anything more, the masked Werewolf moved.

It darted to the side at an incredible speed and then suddenly leapt, not toward them, not toward a direct target among the Howlers, but toward one of the towering trees in the forest.

The moment its body collided with the trunk, the sound of splintering wood echoed through the clearing.

The sheer force of its impact uprooted the massive tree, tearing it from the ground like a weed. The tree began to tilt, its roots ripping through the soil, and then fell with a thunderous crash, dragging down several branches and smaller trees in its wake.

But the masked Werewolf didn’t stop there.

It used the fallen tree like a path, darting across it, its body disappearing behind leaves and broken limbs. For a few seconds, Kanu and Elijah lost sight of it, until it reappeared.

Standing tall atop the trunk, it held the limp body of a Howler member in one arm.

Its massive, clawed hand was driven clean through the man’s chest.

A single hit. One move. One life gone.

“AWHOOOO!”

The beast let out a chilling howl, muffled by the iron mask it wore.

Kanu’s blood boiled.

“That thing’s going to destroy everything,” he growled. “I have to stop it!”

Without hesitation, he rushed forward.

Elijah hesitated. He wanted to follow, but the remaining Werewolves were already swarming in his direction. He didn’t have the luxury of choice, he had his hands full just staying alive.

Meanwhile, the masked Werewolf looked up. Its piercing eyes scanned the branches above, focusing on the Howlers who had made semi-permanent positions in the trees. It was preparing to take another one down.

It crouched low, preparing to launch again, until Kanu stepped into its path.

Kanu didn’t hesitate. Swinging his massive, crab-claw-like arm through the air, he aimed for the beast’s chest, but it stepped back with uncanny precision, avoiding the attack entirely.

Kanu didn’t let up. He charged in again, this time using tighter, heavier strikes, controlled blows designed to limit his openings. They were compact, smart, and laced with raw power.

But the Werewolf…

It weaved through the attacks like it had studied him for weeks.

It swayed from side to side, narrowly dodging every strike with frightening grace.

Then, suddenly, it retaliated, throwing out a sharp, spinning claw-kick aimed at Kanu’s head. He managed to block just in time, raising his arm. But the follow-up was brutal.

A quick, explosive kick to the stomach sent Kanu skidding across the forest floor, dirt and debris trailing behind him.

He slammed into a tree and groaned as he forced himself back up.

“So, this one isn’t just stronger than the others… it knows how to fight too,” Kanu muttered, clenching his jaw. “This might be more trouble than I thought.”

That wasn’t even the worst of it.

With Kanu temporarily down, the defensive front they had established began to crumble.

The Werewolves regained momentum and surged forward again, climbing trees, tearing through brush, and rushing toward the remaining Howler fighters in hiding.

Sadie, Frank, and Elijah were doing their best, but it wasn’t enough to stop the tide completely.

Kanu grimaced, watching it unfold.

“I really thought we were turning things around,” he said to himself, shaking his head. “So much for peaceful retirement, huh?”

Across the city, every key battlefield had reached a boiling point, each one holding the balance of power for the Howlers and Lupus’ forces.

In the south, Crawley and his Altered team were retreating from the coffee shop, desperately regrouping as Ylva, empowered by her monstrous enhancements, chased them down with relentless force.

In the forest, the White Rose group struggled to contain the masked Werewolf, an elite fighter with not only raw power but technique to match.

In the streets, Ghost, a brutal Iron Fang, had tracked down Xin and her group. With no Werewolf transformations available, they were forced to rely on their tactics and tools alone to bring him down.

At the top of a multi-level parking lot, Austin, Vere, and Vlad stood strong. So far, they hadn’t encountered any heavy hitters, but something was coming. A looming wave of enemies was bound to strike soon.

Elsewhere, Innu had led one of the Ironfang elites away from the main fight. It was a desperate attempt to isolate and eliminate one of their most dangerous foes, on his own, with no backup.

And then, there were the Alphas.

Gary, alongside Numba, Ian, and Izzy, was locked in combat with an Iron Fang named Slit. Still unable to transform, Gary had no choice but to rely on the brute power of the Warhammer, swinging with every ounce of strength in his body.

Meanwhile, Lupus, the man who had orchestrated much of this chaos, had encountered two of the Howlers’ strongest physical Altered fighters.

Ice and Apollo.

Together, they would try to bring down the most cunning, vicious Alpha.

With so many battles scattered across the city, each carrying its own stakes and risks, one truth had become painfully clear:

This war had no promises. No guarantees.

And before it was over, lives would be lost.
