Land of Lightning.

Hyōketsu and Hidan walked silently through the mist-covered peaks, stealthily approaching the training ground of Nibi's Jinchuriki, Nii Yugito.

As Jinchuriki, whether it is Killer B or Yugito, they all have a fixed training place, and generally, there are very few people to disturb them.

"Are we there yet?" Hyōketsu asked blandly.

"Almost. Keep quiet and don't alert her!" Hidan said and waved the bloody march sickle threateningly, dispersing the surrounding mist.

'Even you noticed that…' Hyōketsu shrugged, and said loudly, "How could I do something to betray the Akatsuki? You're overthinking this, Hidan."

"Keep your voice down, you bastard!!" Hidan was flustered, then rushed over and grabbed Hyōketsu by the collar, glaring at him.

"You! You're doing this on purpose!!" Hidan, infuriated, swung his scythe, ready to send Hyōketsu to meet his Jashin-sama.

"Aren't you the one doing it on purpose? Listen, all that echoing sound is your shouting." Hyōketsu shoved Hidan away fiercely.

"That's because of you! You…"

Before Hidan could finish, a sudden deafening roar came from the mountain peak.

The two looked up to see a colossal beast enveloped in mist crashing down!

Hyōketsu and Hidan immediately retreated to the sides.

"Who are you?" The giant fell at a terrifying speed, but when it landed, it made no sound, like a dexterous cat.

"Wouldn't you be…"

Hidan looked a huge monster that emerged from the mist, then said with great joy, "Nibi?"

"Hmph!"

When Nibi saw that this guy was not a good person, it immediately opened its mouth and spewed out waves of blue flames.

The blue flames danced through the air, chasing after the fleeing Hidan with a life of their own.

"Hey, aren't you going to help?" Hidan yelled.

"Didn't someone claim they could handle this alone?" Hyōketsu mocked with a smile.

"Bastard!"

Hidan was infuriated, and stopped running.

Boom boom boom!

The blue flames collided with Hidan's back one after another, instantly incinerating his Akatsuki cloak. Then, the flames spread across his back, twisting like worms as they burrowed into his skin, muscles, and spine.

"Ahhh…"

Hidan roared collapsed to the ground, his limbs struggling to stand. The blue flames still burned fiercely, drilling into his organs and emerging from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. ṘἈℕ∅ΒЁＳ

In the blink of an eye, Hidan was engulfed by the blue flames!

"Is he dead?" Hyōketsu circled around to Nibi's back and saw that Hidan's back was nearly burned away, exposing segments of his charred spine.

"Your turn now." Nibi turned its gaze towards Hyōketsu.

"Big kitty, I'm really fierce, don't provoke me." Hyōketsu said fiercely.

"You're the cat!" Nibi was furious, and swung its tail in a wide sweep.

Hyōketsu leaped up and clapped his hands together, "Ice Release: Ice Crystal Dragon!"

Roar!

With the silent roar, two enormous, fierce ice dragons spiraled out from behind Hyōketsu, one tracing an 'S' in the air, the other a 'B'. They then lunged at Nibi, and clamped onto Nibi with a powerful scissor motion!

Nibi didn't hesitate and began forming a Bijudama in its mouth.

"Take this!"

Hyōketsu extended his hands, summoning countless ice shards that coalesced into a massive ice tornado which then engulfed Nibi.

The rapidly dropping temperature froze Nibi and the ice tornado into a massive ice sculpture, preventing the Bijudama from forming.

Immediately after, Hyoketsu turned into a blur and in a flash, appeared behind Nibi. With a swift hand chop, he severed one of Nibi's tails.

'Seal!'

Hyōketsu swiftly pulled out a scroll and sealed the frozen tail inside.

Meanwhile, Hidan, charred and disfigured by the blue flames, suddenly got up from the ground.

"As I said, I am an immortal follower of Jashin-sama!" Hidan glared, and the injuries on his body healed quickly at the speed visible to naked eye.

Crack crack...

The ice sculpture around Nibi also began to crack and quickly shattered completely with a bang.

Hyōketsu swiftly retreated and handed the battlefield to Hidan.

Hidan roared and swung his bloody march sickle. He started exchanging blows with Nibi, carving out several meter-long wounds.

"Why didn't it bleed?" Hidan was puzzled.

"Idiot, Nibi is a Chakra entity, how could it have blood?" Hyōketsu mocked.

"Bastard!!!"

Hidan cursed, then secretly thought, 'It seems that I need to force the Jinchuriki out, otherwise…'

Just as he thought that, Nibi's massive body suddenly twisted and shrank, and then Yugito emerged.

"Who on earth are you? What is your purpose in coming to Kumogakure?!" Yugito crossed her arms, looking at the two people before her arrogantly.

Hyōketsu was dumbfounded when he saw this, 'What is this operation?'

'By fighting in Biju form, even if you couldn't kill Hidan, at least you'd be safe. Now that you've revealed your true form, once Hidan gets your blood, aren't you done for?'

Hyōketsu blinked twice and realized, 'I see, this is the usual drastic drop in intelligence required by the plot!'

'Nii Yugito, you lost unfairly.'

While Hyōketsu was lost in thought, Hidan had already madly charged towards Yugito, attacking recklessly and suffering severe self-inflicted injuries in the process.

It was this recklessness that allowed Hidan to turn the tide.

"Curse Technique: Death Controlling Possessed Blood!"

Using the blood he had drawn from Yugito, Hidan drew a bizarre symbol, then consumed a drop of her blood and quickly activated the curse. After his body turned black and white, he started to mutilate himself wildly, and correspondingly, the exactly same wounds appeared on Yugito's body.

"This is…what's going on?"

Yugito looked at the sudden wounds on her body in disbelief. In shock and unable to comprehend what was happening, she passed out.

"Yuki Hyōketsu, how about my Jashin-sama's ritual?"

After knocking out Yugito, Hidan lay on the ground and laughed arrogantly, "There will come a day where you will also die by my hand and become a sacrifice to Jashin-sama!"

"Hehe."

Hyōketsu was too lazy to care about him, and went straight to Yugito, frowning slightly.

 

'Yugito had fainted, but Nibi hadn't. Why didn't it come out to protect her?'

Hyōketsu bent down and grabbed Yugito, then poured some Chakra into her body. He then discovered that Nibi was blocked by the Biju Seal. With Yugito unconscious, the seal was activated, preventing Nibi from emerging.

'So, why did Nibi return to its seal just now?'

Hyōketsu shook his head in disdain.
