By the time Luca and the others arrived at the Morning Star headquarters, it was already late at night.

Logan had deliberately waited for their return in the conference room.

“So, what you’re saying is that the monster entered the Imperial Capital through the underground passage? And the outer defensive magic array of the Imperial Capital had no effect?”

Logan asked, slightly surprised after hearing Luca and Melania’s report.

Luca nodded in response.

“You are correct. The ordinary defensive magic array probably has little effect now. The Imperial Capital should have updated its defensive magic array by now.”

His words left everyone in the war room stunned.

Zovland, the head of the Eastern Territory branch of Morning Star, stood up immediately and questioned, “How can we be sure that what you’re saying is true? And don’t you think the intelligence you’ve gathered is insufficient to support your conclusions?”

“If you don’t believe it, that’s fine. I’m not a member of Morning Star. I’m just telling you my own damn findings,” Luca responded without hesitation.

Hearing this, Zovland clenched his fists and glared angrily at Luca.

Luca, however, completely ignored him.

In his eyes, Zovland was just a petty fool. As for an enemy who had constantly opposed him, the fact that he was even willing to speak to him was already a sign of his courtesy.

“If you don’t believe the conclusion, then you can investigate it yourself,” Drumph said with a sly smile, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Doesn’t Eastern Territory’s Morning Star have its own investigative capabilities?”

Zovland turned his angry gaze toward Drumph.

“That’s enough!” Logan’s voice cut through the tension in the room. “I trust Luca’s judgment.”

His words helped ease the atmosphere in the conference room.

“How much time do you need to prepare before you can explore the passage further?” Logan asked.

“About a week. My two weapons haven’t been repaired yet. Plus, I haven’t found any better weapons,” Luca replied.

Logan was very satisfied with his answer. He turned to Drumph and said, “Repairing his two weapons is priority alpha.”

“Understood,” Drumph responded.

Logan then glanced out the window. The first light of dawn had begun to break.

He realized that the meeting had gone on for far too long.

“Alright, everyone. Let’s conclude the meeting here. Luca, you will stay in the Imperial Capital for the next week. We at Morning Star will take care of you. This meeting is adjourned.”

As the meeting came to a close, everyone began leaving the war room.

At the door of the room, a confrontation broke out between Zovland and Drumph.

Zovland coldly said to Drumph, “Of course, I’ll send my people to investigate! My team will uncover the real truth!”

Drumph scoffed, “How you choose to handle it is your business. But I don’t believe your subordinates have the ability to complete the task.”

“You!” Zovland was infuriated by Drumph’s attitude.

Without thinking, he instinctively raised his fist to strike Drumph.

However, before his punch could land, Luca immediately restrained his arm.

“What do you think you’re doing?! Don’t you know who I am?!” Zovland was sweating profusely, feeling the gap in strength between him and Luca.

At the same time, the pressure on his arm from Luca was excruciating.

Luca answered coldly, “I hope you can calm down. Regardless of who you are, you shouldn’t be fighting in the Morning Star headquarters.”

After saying this, Luca released Zovland’s arm.

Zovland quickly pulled his arm back.

“You’ll regret this!” Zovland threatened angrily before quickly leaving with his subordinates.

“Should we be worried about his threat?” Melania asked with slight concern, looking at Drumph and Luca.

Drumph and Luca exchanged a knowing glance. Their thoughts were simple—what was there to worry about from such a two-bit punk?

After the confrontation, everyone returned to their respective residences.

Drumph had already made arrangements for Luca. He was staying at the most luxurious hotel in the Imperial Capital.

Naturally, many prominent members of the major families in the Imperial Capital, as well as high-ranking federal officials and other important figures, were also staying there.

Nova was, of course, staying at the same hotel.

That evening, Nova knocked on Luca’s door.

“Is there something you need? I need to rest, after all, I’ll be heading back into the passageway to investigate in a week.” Luca coldly asked, always on his guard against Nova.

Though Nova had been trying to gain Luca’s complete trust, Luca remained wary.

“Are we not friends? As friends, can’t we have a chat?” Nova, dressed in a splendid gown and smiling brightly, asked Luca.

Luca replied coldly, “I don’t have time for idle chit-chat right now. If you want to talk, you can go find Melania or Fuzzsir.”

After saying that, he intended to close the door.

Nova immediately blocked it.

“Don’t shut me out like that. Why are you being so cold to me?”

“Maybe you’re being a bit too eager? Our relationship can’t even be called a friendship yet.”

Luca had made himself very clear.

It was impossible for Nova to pretend she didn’t understand now.

So, Nova acted as though she were deeply wronged, her eyes brimming with tears, and asked him, “Is it because of what happened at the Daskhollow base? The mastermind behind it all was Dr. Smith. I hadn’t even reached Daskhollow base at that time.”

“I don’t trust anyone from Zenith Technology Company.”

Luca’s tone had turned very cold by this point.

In the end, all Nova could do was say, feeling resigned,

“Fine, it seems we still have a lot of misunderstandings to clear up.”

Nova stopped blocking the door, so Luca closed it without hesitation.

As the door clicked shut, a cold, detached expression appeared on Nova’s face.

She slowly walked down the hallway,

reaching her own door. She glanced back in the direction of Luca’s room.

“What a tough opponent! Is there really someone immune to my charm? It seems like I’ll have to try another strategy.”

After muttering to herself, Nova went back to her room.

Meanwhile, Luca was extending his psionic feelers, constantly probing Nova’s position.

Only when he confirmed she had left did he finally relax.

“Her offensive tactics are getting fiercer by the minute! Does she really think she can convince me this way? I’m not the kind of person who easily falls into a femme fatale’s trap.”

He muttered to himself with a smile and shook his head.

Although Nova had been blocked, her actions made him realize that he should act quickly.

Even though the Starseeker and Obsidian weren’t fully repaired, he could continue exploring the passage on his own strength.

The plan he had told Logan about was just a distraction to mislead others.

By striking out on his own, he would achieve his goal.

“We need to be ready as soon as possible. Let’s set off in three days,” Luca said to himself.

In his mind, Sophia softly agreed with a hum.

Once Sophia approved of his plan, Luca closed his eyes, satisfied, and fell into a deep sleep.

He needed to rest well, no matter what.

Outside a luxury hotel in the core district of the Imperial Capital, two members of the Eastern Territory Morning Star were chatting in a beat-up Crown Vic.

“I really don’t understand what the point is of us just sitting here.”

“What do you mean ‘what’s the point’? This is the task our boss gave us! Of course, we need to complete it!”

The only reason they were there was to carry out Zovland’s orders.

Ever since Zovland had clashed with Luca at the Morning Star headquarters, he had been bitter about it.

Though he didn’t dare face Luca directly, that didn’t mean he had given up on seeking revenge.

Zovland decided to have his people keep a close watch on Luca.

For the next week, he intended to constantly create trouble for Luca, ensuring that Luca’s upcoming plans would not go smoothly.

However, his plan had also caused some internal strife within the Eastern Territory Morning Star.

Calla was actually opposed to Zovland’s plan.

She believed that going against Luca at this critical juncture was extremely unwise.

This led to an argument between her and Zovland.

But in the end, Zovland ignored Calla’s advice.

Because of this, Calla chose to head to another region to carry out her tasks.

She didn’t stay in the Imperial Capital because she knew that as long as she did, she would inevitably clash with Luca.

On the surface, after the three-headed demon serpent was defeated, the Imperial Capital appeared to have returned to peace.

But in reality, beneath that calm surface, undercurrents were swirling.

Everyone was closely watching Luca’s every move.

The major families in the Imperial Capital, who had failed to frame Luca previously, were now taking action.

The James Family, Willow Family, and Mingwhel Family had already set their plans in motion.

They were just waiting for Luca’s actions to fail.

Once they seized an opportunity, they would put Luca in an inescapable situation.

But to Luca, these actions were insignificant.

Plotting and scheming could never defeat him because his own strength was far beyond theirs.

No matter what danger he faced, he could always rely on his immense power to turn the tables.

In a cave 100 kilometers outside the Imperial Capital, Zenobia, on the brink of death, was desperately devouring the surrounding monsters.

As she consumed the monsters, she also let out terrifying howls.

“Luca, I will never forgive you! Once my strength is restored, I will tear you to pieces and devour you whole!”

Zenobia’s hatred for Luca had reached an extreme level.

She could no longer think rationally; she was completely consumed by hatred and madness.
