128 Chapter 127: Gaining an ally
“If you were in my position what would you have me do?” Damon asked with a slight frown on his face. His eyes seemed void of all forms of emotions but if one looked closer they would see the anxiety in his eyes.
He needed to move fast, faster than his enemies, and build his strength. The first and most important thing now was to gather his forces and fast. Gin and Cyrus were two more guardian spirit hosts and he needed to pull them out before they are discovered.
With Gin here, their problem of proper equipment would be solved and with Cyrus here, they would have an all-powerful Oracle. Klien was not a host but his strength was not inferior in any way.
“We need to spread the word of your return. You victory here and have people know you are the new master of the blood mountain with an army of a million undead soldiers. Once we do that, they will be more than willing to leave the safety of their homes and come to us... I believe that’s the best move forward” Cassius said with a thoughtful expression on his face.
Unknown to him while he spoke, Damon observed this man for a while and sighed.
He casually began walking towards Cassius which stunned the vampire but he didn’t move. He watched Damon places his finger on his forehead and after what could be considered a stinging sensation, he felt like the seal placed on him was gone, leaving him dumbfounded.
The image Damon had created in his mind was that of a powerful tyrant. He didn’t think Damon would let an important figure like him go just like that.
“What is this?” Cassius asked with confusion written all over his face.
Seeing this, Damon chuckled lightly before responding.
.....
“You are free to go... if you cause trouble for me or my people, you will die by my hands... But you are also free to stay and become my greatest ally... Help me build my kingdom from scratch and become a part of history... my history!” Damon said with a casual look on his face which made Cassius frown.
“The world you wish to build will lead to the death of all of us! You value the real enemies more than you value your own kind!” Cassius said with a deep frown and clenched fists.
It was obvious he was holding himself back from attacking Damon.
“Let me ask you a question. Were you truly satisfied with your life here on the blood mountain?” Damon asked with a raised eyebrow.
Cassius was hasty to answer but once he opened his mouth he couldn’t help but close it slowly. His eyes revealed his hidden emotions while his body shrank back.
“I am human, just like you. Deny it as much as you want, we were all humans once” Damon said in a rather sad tone as he stared at those gathering below.
He watched the terrified expressions on the faces of these humans as his undead soldiers guided them in an orderly manner.
“These humans will kill us! Even when we show them our good will. They will try to kill us! They can never be able to live in harmony with our kind!” Cassius said as his eyes revealed pain and anguish which he has been bottling up for a long time.
Damon shot him a glance and yawned as if it meant nothing but Cassius knew Damon understood this pain. Five years ago he almost lost his life at the hands of the people he fought to protect.
“That’s the problem. You showed them sincerity and they attacked. This time we will show them our power and make them submit!” Damon said as his killing intent exploded!
Buzz!
Cassius frowned as he gazed at Damon with a hint of shock in his eyes.
“Aim for equality and you will get lower! Aim for supremacy and the world will be more than willing to settle for equality!’ Damon explained with a calm look in his eyes.
Hearing this even Cassius was taken aback and he was left dumbfounded. Might make right! With enough power, they can really force the world to submit to them and forcefully live in peace with them.
“I know how you feel and I know why you are so reluctant. You have outlived the humans you care about or at least watched them die at the hands of their fellow humans. You are broken but this is the chance to come back from it. I intend to create a single empire which will house all races! Be it man or beast! Orc or elf! Vampire or human! There will be no exception!” Damon said with clenched fists.
Cassius can feel Damon’s emotions and strangely he could relate properly.
“The death mage was the one who created the first set of the blood clan. Now the new death mage requests your help! Help me build a world where you will never have to fear anything again. A world that will last for eternity!” Damon said with his hand stretched out.
Seeing this, Cassius Blood was disturbed. The first bloods were created by a death mage who happened to their friend more than four centuries ago. When they were killed by the invading human soldiers, he revived them using the blood magic, creating eternal monsters.
They made a pact before the death mage was killed that no matter the reincarnation, they would always be friends. Seeing Damon make such a request, he strangely felt compelled to agree.
“I don’t know what the others may think. I don’t know if they would agree to this but for the sake of the life I owe to give past death mage I will serve you until the very end!”, Cassius finally spoke as he fell on his knees
He stretched forward and grabbed Damon’s hands with a strange expression on his face.
“Good... I leave administrative work to you for now... make this place somewhere conducive for humans....” Damon laughed
