134 Chapter 133: Gaining the advantage

For over an hour the group kept walking through the narrow tunnel with Gin leading them. Seeing this tunnel one would think it was simple but it was actually like a maze. Soon they began seeing forked roads , detours, and secret pathways capable of leading people in circles. According to Gin, all members of the stonehammer family came down here once every month to make the journey in order to keep their memories of the routes fresh at all times.

At first, it sounded ridiculous but then they soon realized how naive they had been. Only now did they remember that once every month, Gin would be gone for hours and no one would be able to find him. The dates were usually fixed so how did they not notice this?

“Even if they choose to try and follow us, they will get lost... That is if they are able to find the entrance to this place” Gin snorted disdainfully as he walked with the others. It was obvious his hatred for this kingdom had reached its peak, that was why he was more than willing to leave with Damon.

“Do you think Damon would be the same as he was before?” Lucy suddenly asked which drew everyone’s attention.

As Damon’s first and only girlfriend, she couldn’t help but feel anxious, especially since she started dating Klien two years after Damon’s disappearance.

If it wasn’t for the fact that she was sure that she would be killed by the kingdom if they realized these people left, she wouldn’t have dared to come.

From the stories of the death mage, she has heard. The stronger they become the less emotions they feel, someone like that wouldn’t hesitate to kill anyone if he feels betrayed by them.

“He has changed, that’s probably why you won’t die... I won’t care enough about you to even bother with your new relationship” Gin gave an honest reply without hesitation and Lucy frowned.

Now, she felt hurt, But why?

.....

Is she so irrelevant that he wouldn’t be mad?

“You should get your priorities straight... Do you want to live or die?” Gin could sense her thoughts based on her facial expressions and it got on his nerves.

“That’s enough, just focus on taking us out of here” Klien sighed.

He knew Gin wasn’t too fond of her but there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn’t pick a side since he considered Gin, Cyrus, and Damon just as important as Lucy in his life, if not more.

After another two hours had passed, the team finally reached the end of the tunnel. Red and golden light surged into the tunnel through the exit and the moment they stepped out they were assaulted by fierce shockwaves, leaving them pale in fright!

Hmph!

Gin and Cyrus reacted accordingly as their blue and golden aura exploded, forming a barrier around the team of four before the shockwaves could hit.

“So strong!” Gin commented with a hint of excitement in his eyes as he gazed at the two figures above fighting fiercely.

.........

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Blows were exchanged in mid-air but none retreated. Damon’s hair stood up in a spiky manner as his claws surged with a brilliant darkish green aura while he stabbed forward!

Peng!

His claws struck the greatsword in Kaido’s hands as both sides exploded with fierce power while they struggled for supremacy on the battlefield!

Boom!

Blegh!

Damon was blown back causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood but a crazed smile still remained on his face as he watched the greatsword descending upon him with the intention of splitting him in two!

In response, Damon gathered his strength and tried to duck to the left but contrary to his expectations, his entire right hand was cut off but even then the smile on his face grew wider!

Puff!

With Kaido swinging his weapon with both hands, he was left exposed just as Damon had expected. He took advantage of the opportunity and struck at the enemy with his left hand, driving his cakes into the side of his enemy’s neck!

“IT’S OVER!” Damon bellowed as Kaido paled.

Boom!

A darkish green aura exploded from the claws dug into Kaido’s neck but surprisingly it couldn’t penetrate very deep. A fierce golden aura surged within Kaido battling Damon’s aura!

Swish!

Slash!

Taking advantage of the little time he had created for himself, Kaido proceeded to slash forward once again, cutting off Damon’s left hand as well before retreating!

“Argh!” Kaido grunted as he pulled out the hand and tossed it aside like it was nothing. He held on to his wound with his hand while watching Damon’s hands regrow in mere seconds.

“I possess the immortal body.... Every wound I have sustained heals in seconds no matter how dire... You, my friend, are powerful but still inferior. You have been accumulating wounds and your fighting power has been reduced exponentially. Now I managed to injure your neck. The next time I may be lucky enough to rip your head off that body. Who knows?” Damon said with a cruel smile as the black cracks on his face spread down to his neck and now reached other parts of his body.

Tch!

Kaido frowned at these words. If it were in the daytime there was no doubt he could beat Damon in his mind. His one pathway allowed him to continually draw power from the Sun deity as his source, allowing his strength to grow endlessly in battle. Even foes at a higher realm may not even be able to beat him.

Now he could only rely on the fake sun he created which has limits to how much power he could draw from it. Right now he was fucked!

“I will confess, I never expected you to be this strong. You hid your werewolf power well. I guess attacking vampires and killing many paid off really well.. who would have thought you would break into the spirit realm as a mage and be on the same level with Duke Hail... That’s nice but this is where it ends!” Kaido said with blazing eyes as the massive fake sun began descending!
