Pokemon: Master of tactics

Alex was so surprised by Maria's words and crying noises that he didn't say anything for a few seconds.

He has been in this relationship with Maria for over a year and that was the only time he heard her truly crying.

Maria's crying voice could be heard from the TRH device. "*sob* Alex... Don't worry, everything will be ok. I'm sure we can fix it."

Alex "woke up" and he responded with a slightly dumbfounded tone, "...Maria, I've already clarified this with the boss. I won't have any problems with it in the future."

After saying that, he could hear Maria stop making crying noises and go completely silent. She doesn't answer for the first few seconds either.

Maria asked in a confused tone, "But... that doesn't make any sense."

She had too many questions and couldn't imagine a situation in which this made sense.

"...Alex don't lie to me. don't try to protect me. *sob*..." After saying that, Alex could hear Maria starting to cry again.

Alex was completely speechless again at the nonsense Maria had thought up. ' She thinks I'm lying to protect her? ... how does she come up with such a ridiculous train of thought?. Although it's actually nice that she thinks about me that way it is a bit....'

He said in a slightly serious tone, "Maria, I really won't have any problems for the thing I've done. ...this bastard, Marco attacked me first and tried to kill as many of my Pokemon as possible. All I've done myself is take revenge on him after... he killed one of my Pokemon. ...that's the truth"

Maria, who heard that, was relieved but also extremely sad when she heard that one of Alex's Pokemon had died.

She knew how much Alex loved his Pokemon and how he treated them like his family.

Maria couldn't understand Alex's pain but she could roughly imagine how sad and broken Alex must be at that moment.

But she was extremely bad at emotional issues and not a person who can take good care of a dejected person.

Maria said in a hesitant voice, "Ale-x, I... I'm truly sorry to hear that. ...F*ck, That really sucks."

Alex, hearing this extremely bad attempt at cheering up from Maria, burst out laughing as he said, "Haha, yes... it really sucks. ...yes, it really is a.. *sob* f*ck... "

He couldn't control his emotion for a moment and his real emotion at that moment could be heard.

Alex pulled himself together and he said, "Let's talk later." and he hung up without waiting for Maria to answer.

He didn't want to talk to Maria about the situation now and get even more emotional. This is an awful time to do this.

Alex who was thinking about what to do next looked at his Pokemon which all have sad expressions on their faces and he said, "...We have to move on. ...Even if it's just for Bastiodon. ... I needed an emotionless expression from you and not ...this."

In Team Rocket, weakness is extremely despised, and even if Alex loses a Pokemon, Team Rocket expects the trainer or the other Pokemon to at least carry-on and not be paralyzed by their emotion.

Alex didn't want to show his subordinates that side of him or his Pokemon so he had to say this.

He was responsible for the circumstances and lives of himself and his Pokemon. And he didn't want to make any mistakes that could harm him or his Pokemon later on. Even if he had to do something cold like that, he wouldn't mind and do it.

That was his responsibility.

Alex's Pokemon all had different expressions but none produced a word or refuses to do that.

Without a word, Alex's Pokemon all tried to show an emotionless expression and look as indifferent as possible.

Alex was a bit surprised how none of his Pokemon questioned him after saying something so cold.

He clenched his hand in a fist as he thought, 'That trust... although... it was my fault. ...'

Alex suppressed his emotion again and he put on an indifferent expression as he watched his Pokemon change their expressions.

After all of his Pokemon looked as cold and emotionless as possible, he started taking them to the Scyther territory.

The Scyther leader and his subordinates are already waiting for Alex or it looks like this to Alex.

Scyther leader started looking at Alex with a puzzled expression as he said,

"Why are you doing here?"

Alex replied with a slightly confused expression, "Huh? what are you talking about? I still owe you the other half of the reward."

He retrieved the other half of the promised Steel-Type items and placed them in front of the leader.

Scyther leader showed a speechless expression as he couldn't understand what happened.

Alex suddenly understands why the Scyther leader has become so confused.

"You.. really thought I wouldn't give you the other half after you helped me, didn't you?" After saying this, Alex showed a slightly speechless expression as if the logic of Scyther is really silly. ꞦᴀɴȎᛒƐŜ

The Scyther leader looked at the items in front of him and replied, "Human, you're right. I truthfully didn't think you'd come back after we helped you. Keeping your word would bring you no benefit other than keeping your honorability ."

He then looked at Alex as he said the next few words, "You truly are a different human."

Alex shook his head and he severed the telepathic link to Scyther as he began walking away from him without a word.

Although this Scyther is, in Alex's estimation, very wise and clever, he couldn't agree with those words.

At least not with the positive undertone that Scyther uses.

Alex's group next headed towards the Team Rocket base after Alex again used the Ditto mask to change his face.

Maria, Elise, and Daniel were already waiting in front of the Team Rocket base when Alex's group arrived.

Because these three knew what Alex's fake face looked like and what Pokemon Alex had, they immediately recognized that it was really him.

Maria showed an emotionless expression although Alex could see concern and sadness in Maria's eyes.

Alex ignored that and said in an indifferent tone, "We won. I hope I don't have to explain to you again how important this win is for our future. I still have a few things to prepare so I need a little more time. It will take me about 7 days so I will see you guys in Hoenn in 7 days. Go on vacation or do something else in those 7 days."

"...I will reward each of you for your help with a talented Pokemon and a high position in Hoenn, so you don't have to worry about me forgetting your contributions on your vacation."

Daniel and Elise showed a satisfied expressions when they heard the words from Alex.

They were very satisfied with Alex's words.
