Kent, like everyone else, could only look at Elaine.

He was looking forward to her challenge, and when it came, he was rather stunned. But looking at her, he knew her challenge wasn’t that simple.

“Well, are you bold enough to accept my challenge?” she asked again.

“Why should I accept your challenge knowing I will lose?” Kent asked with a chuckle.

“You are the second ranker, only a percentage away from catching up to me. I say we are in the same class,” Elaine replied, still looking as cold as ever.

“We all know that your pill could have been more than 94%.” Kent wanted to make things fun but Elaine wasn’t buying it.

“So tell me, what are the stakes, and what evil plans do you have in mind, trying to set me up?” Kent smiled, causing the audience and the contestants around to look at Elaine.

“I don’t need anything from you. However, if you lose, you will become my servant for ten years, and within those ten years, you will not touch a cauldron or even a sword.

Your only job will be to serve me.”

Her stake was indeed huge, and everyone who heard it turned and looked at Kent. He wasn’t speaking, for he was laughing uncontrollably.

Her demand is rather unusual.

Meanwhile, up in the VIP room, Pill Saint Enex smiled, causing the rest of the Pill Saints to glare at him.

“You bastard, what did you do?” Pill Saint Barton asked with angry eyes.

“What does it look like? Clearly, having him as a servant will mean all his possessions will be my disciple’s to have for the next ten years.

And we all know whatever she has is also mine. So relax, I will be winning this one, but since we are colleagues, I will remember you when I get my hands on his treasures,” he said with an evil smile.

“In fact, I only asked her to put the stakes at a year, but ten years is also okay. The brat will die before a year is even over.”

“You scheming bastard. You went against all of us and took action on your own. This wasn’t what we agreed on,” said Pill Saint Evilyn, the queen of the Athea Kingdom.

Pill Saint Enex just smirked.

“We may be allies when it comes to this brat, but in the grand scheme of things, we all know we fight for our own benefits.

I got my chance today; maybe next time, it will be your turn.”

The faces of everyone were rather unpleasant. Even Pill Saint Riva, the poison witch, was ashen.

However, her mood brightened a bit when Pill Saint Barton started laughing. The moment the scheming bastard started laughing, she knew they were back on track.

That laughter said he wasn’t angry anymore; instead, he was ridiculing Pill Saint Enex.

“I received word yesterday that the Evil Sect and the Assassin Guild are coming after the brat and everyone in his life.

This means I can just reach out and let them know after the competition that the brat will be under your care.”

“You wouldn’t dare,” Pill Saint Enex stood up with his fists clenched.

“Oh, but I will. Just like how you planned on backstabbing us, I also have measures in place,” he laughed.

“So what do you think? Unlike you, I will let all of us share the loot equally. We just have to do as we did many years before: we have to get in bed with evil, and our dreams will be fulfilled.” His evil smile made the other Pill Saints shudder.

Pill Saint Enex may have crafted the perfect plan with his disciple, but in the end, it was Pill Saint Barton who won.

However, what none of them expected next was the stunt Elaine was about to pull.

“You want me to become your servant for ten years?” Kent asked.

“Yes. Unless, of course, you are willing to reject the challenge, in which case you will be expelled from the rest of the competition. That is the second stake, so pick one.”

“I pick the first,” Kent smiled. “Then how about I also offer the same stake? If I win, you will become my servant, and just like you offered me, you won’t touch a cauldron or an herb in the ten years you will serve.”

“I accept. However, how can I be sure that you won’t run after you lose? I know I wouldn’t, but I don’t trust you, so I need insurance,” Elaine asked, making Kent chuckle.

He turned in a certain direction, meeting the gaze of an ordinary-looking man.

“Sword King Shawn, why don’t I disturb you for a while?” Kent called out and smiled.

Everybody turned in the direction he did, and to their shock, the ordinary-looking man smiled and took off his disguise, revealing the face of the swordsman Kent had met at the auction.

“Your perception is indeed admirable. You even managed to see through my perfect disguise,” Sword King Shawn smiled.

Not even the Pill Saints saw through his disguise. This caused Pill Saint Enex to panic.

Sword King Shawn vanished and appeared between Kent and Elaine. “Just what are your eyes made of?”

“Let’s say I was fortunate enough to have a fortuitous encounter a while ago that gave me eyes that can see anything,” he amplified his tone, making sure everyone heard him.

However, his words only struck chords in the person who knew her suspicions were true.

“What do you need from me? I have decided to do three favors for you since the Spirit Enlightenment Fruit helped me advance my swordsmanship,” Sword King Shawn said.

“Then I will cash in the first favor. I want you to enforce the bet. If I lose and choose not to fulfill my end of the bet, you have my permission to do whatever you want to me,” Kent said, shocking everyone.

“Do the same for me, Sword King,” Elaine also said, making everyone’s blood boil.

The notion that Kent is the Perfect Alchemist returned. However, it wasn’t just that; the rumor that Elaine is also the Perfect Alchemist started to spread.

This made the next round get rowdy. Everyone started whispering, knowing full well that soon, the reveal they’d all been waiting for would come.

“Let it be known that should either of them go against the stakes of the bet, my sword will speak, and that is final.”

When a Sword King speaks, there is no doubting it. Not even King has a say after they speak.
